If it's true that we've had 2500 applications already then we'll easily sell out. Still 9 days to get the form in, plus that's only season ticket holder applications. There's loads of people who don't have a season ticket who will want to go.

Brilliant.

Never done this before so no real idea what to do. If I have the share certificate can I just walk into a bank and sell them straightaway or is it more complicated than that? Had a look online and while it's no doubt cheaper to trade that way it means sending off the certificates to have them put into the account before selling. It's the only shares we have so won't be needing to do this again. Cheers.

Never worn any fancy dress or a replica shirt to a game. Went to Liverpool last away game of the season in 2004 (I think) when we drew 0-0 and had a Pink Panther costume to wear but couldn't bring myself to do it. No idea why I even thought that would be a good idea in the first place! Probably would have collapsed if I had worn it as it was really hot and I was severely dehydrated due to spending the previous evening on the lash in Liverpool.

I agree it's over the top but there's nothing we can do about it now. It's one game of the season where we are are required to be hearded about in this draconian way so we may as well just get on with it. For anyone (elderly, small kids and disabled apart) to not want to go to the BIGGEST away game of the season because of the bubble restrictions, well it makes no sense to me. Last season at Notts County a bunch of maybe 10 or 12 of us got escorted from a pub to the ground. Police told us we couldn't leave the pub and made us all wait until 10 mins before kick off before marching us down to the ground. We weren't being treated like responsible adults that day either. None of it will matter though if we smash a few goals past them on 18th December. I can't wait for the ticker tape reception the returning coaches get when we roll into Southampton.

Reminds me of all the old people who moan about 'the youth of today'. Yes, that's the youth that your generation parented and raised. Apportion some of that blame to yourselves please.

Best Buy are closing down their UK operation too. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/nov/07/best-buy-uk-five-reasons-it-failed What with the amount of online sites now it seems a bit of a waste of time to haul huge electrical appliances into a massive warehouse sized shop to sell them and paying staff to do it.

Hahaha. Is that the same Gordon Brown who saved us from joining the Euro when Blair was bang up for it? He should be dune's hero.

It's refreshing of dune to refer to those with a liberal outlook as 'elite'.

Completely agree. I've worked in a few different offices, none of which have required me to communicate face to face with customers or suppliers. In some of these we could wear what we want, in others shirt and tie was required. Why? Will I do my job better because I have to sling a silly bit of material round my neck? As for who parented these people, well maybe they were those who like to bring their children up to question why things are like they rather than just grimly blinking along and accepting.

What do you use to clean up after masturbating?

Mmmmm. Nothing I like more than mopping up random love custard. -
It's amusing that we have one thread discussing the fact that the sales of tickets in the Pompey end are a bit slow and a bunch of our fans ribbing them about poor away attendances on the takeover thread while at the same time we have a bunch of whingers and moaners on here acting like pansies because they have to get a bus 17 miles down the road and there might not be many toilets. Christ. If I was a Pompey fan reading this thread I'd be cracked up. Sort it out.

I reckon he means the good news of this season in general rather than one specific new development.

Well obviously in regards to print media, but the Guardian does have about 31 million users of it's website and for a long time was the biggest UK newspaper website until the Mail started ramping up their traffic by stuffing their front page with pictures of scantily clad females and concentrating on exciting things like celebrity gossip.
-
Hayward's a pretty average journalist. Think he wrote for the Mail before moving to Guardian/Observer a couple of years ago which is the equivalent of moving from Pompey to Saints. He writes a feature column in the Observer Sport section. My guess is he wanted to do a piece on Saints but no one from the club was available for interview (or couldn't be arsed). Oh well. We don't need to whore ourselves out to the media.

Completely agree. It's the first game I looked for on the fixture list. The one away game where you can guarantee the adrenaline will be flowing whatever happens. £42 and a couple of hours fannying around on coaches for the chance of rimming Pompey at Fratton? Yes please.
-
Depends if he wants to be a back up player here though as he probably wouldn't start many games unless we had injuries. Bring him back and then sell him in the window if we get a decent offer.
-
She'll be off once he's transferred to Hartlepool or Rochdale. As for Forte, he may as well move as he's never going to get into our squad. Personally I don't see anything wrong with making players the butt of a joke either. It's been going on forever. I'm sure he won't lose any sleep about a few people on the internet saying he's not that good.
-
You can buy tickets online. I couldn't bring myself to create an account on the Pompey website to complete the transaction, but there was nothing to say I couldn't create a new account and buy a ticket. From the ticket site I worked out they have 1541 tickets left to sell.
-
I like that a lot. Fair play to them. Buying those shirts probably cost Portvleit about half his weeks wages.

13 minute highlights of Saints 4 - Coventry 2
The Cat replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Nice. The build up to the second goal was superb. -
Made it hard for ourselves (especially with the bizarre defending for their second goal) but fully deserved the win. Glad Lambert is ok, he was hobbling quite badly before half time. Thought Fox played well and put in a beautiful cross for Guly's header.
-
Jaidi last season when he tackled a player, ran round a few, charged up the pitch, knocked the ball out wide, thundered into the box and put his header over the bar from a few yards. Any of the mass pitch invasions, they are always good.
