  1. It has been for a while. Don't you remember all those kids in the audience of Gladiators with their big foam hands pointing down everytime one of the black Gladiators came out?
  2. The striker we have at our club who scores bucketloads of goals.
  3. Last night was the first time this season (and since he's been fit) that I've thought we could really do with him. That's testament to the players that have been doing well, however he gave us that electric pace we now severely lack and he would scare the sh!t out of a lot of teams in the Championship. Maybe Nigel should just go mental and bung Jake Sinclair up front with Lambert for a game. Could be a masterstroke.
  4. The people that stood at the back and say they didn't hear anything were probably nowhere near Danny. We had almost 2000 there, the back is quite long. Like every club Saints has a small minority of people who hold unpopular views on race. Sometimes you'll hear these people, sometimes you won't. At West Brom away one year (Premiership game we lost 1-0 due to some inept goalkeeping from Paul Jones) there was a middle aged bloke in front of us being pretty out of order to Jason Roberts. Me and my mate asked him to stop because it was clear there were kids near us who were looking a bit scared. When we asked him why he wasn't abusing Paul Williams (the only black player in our XI) he said, "it's because he's our n*****".
  5. Yes it was, Cork banged in a shot from the edge of the box and their defender pulled off a great save. I missed the subsequent punt upfield as I was going mental at the ref. Next thing I see is Morgan miserably failing to deal with the long ball and Millar scoring. I do wonder why we leave Morgan back at set pieces. He's hardly quick and not that great at defending. Would surely make sense to leave Richardson back.
  6. Just back. Cardiff weren't great going forward but hassled us out of possession in midfield quite frequently. Our passing wasn't as crisp as normal and we gave the ball away too cheaply. Looked much better when De Ridder came on as Connolly seemed to struggle. Lallana was quiet and Schneiderlin gave the ball away more often than a player of his quality should. We still created plenty of chances, Lambert's second half missed header at the back post was pretty lame. Schneiderlin also missed a great opportunity just after they scored their first when he was put through in the box after a quality move. Wasn'y very impressed by Fox's performance tonight. Too many bad passes and his decision making was at times poor. Davis - 6 - Annoyed most of the crowd in the first half by taking ages from goal kicks. Indeed we seemed quite happy to slow down play at all set pieces. Good handling in the box but not many saves to make. Maybe a bit hasty in coming off his line for the first goal. Richardson - 7 - Played well. Fonte - 6 - Not his best game but was ok. Hooiveld - 6 - Solid. Would have been 7 if not for his mistake for the second goal Fox - 5 - Very sloppy at times. Lallana - 6 - Quiet. Schneiderlin - 5 - Not at his best by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe lacking sharpness. Cork - 6 - Miscontrolled the ball a few times in midfield. Put in a good shift though. Guly - 7 - Our best defender in the first half. Stumbled about a bit in possession at times, fell over when getting the ball for a throw in which was funny. Connolly - 5 - Looked tired. Didn't link up with Lallana much. Lambert - 7 - Held the ball up well and linked play nicely. Should have scored. De Ridder - 7 - Lively, good goal. Chaplow - 6 - Did ok

    Tonights games

    Ridiculous. Own goal too, hahahaha.

This is mental. Can Peterborough score too?
  9. Think he scored against us at the Dell in the Carling Cup for Stockport when Jones was their manager.
  10. Is New Tricks that one about the old cops with James Bolam (or Grandpa In My Pocket to all of those with small kids)? The only bit of the show I've ever seen featured that bloke that's in everything wearing an AFC Wimbledon kit. But they aren't from the Midlands so I'll shut up.
  11. That was an epic performance from the whole British team. I loved watching the 8 man GB train on the front of the peleton so much I almost got a semi. I've said it before and probably won't stop saying it until he retires, but Mark Cavendish is the best sportsman in this country by a fecking mile.
  12. David Howells, Perry Groves, Neil Heaney. Yeah, Fck them.
  13. We should all arrive by boat.
  14. First game I've missed for ages. Gutted. Hope all those going have a cracking day out.
  15. Maybe there are some people who aren't coming because of the ticket tax but their number is not going run into the thousands that people say our attendence is short by.
  16. Comfortable. We used the flanks a bit more tonight, less of the quick link up play in the midfield. Holmes played well and looked very sharp in the first half. Agree about the poor turnout, we were getting more for JPT games. Isn't Ben Reeves a left back? At least he has been in the couple of Academy games I've seen. Aldershot away next please.
  17. Judging by the type of Arsenal fan I saw last night it was mainly the part timers there. Lots of couples, lots of people holding megastore bags, lots of people taking pictures of each other inside and outside the ground. It was a good chance for those sort of fans to get to a game though as it was no doubt a hell of a lot easier (and cheaper) to get a ticket than it is for league games. Hard to judge but it didn't look like 45000 or whatever it was to me as there were vast swathes of empty seats everywhere except for in the Shrewsbury end which was packed. But then it does have a huge capacity and I couldn't see the top teir above me. As for us, I believe we should easily get 10k+ for a game like this. Fair enough for people that have to add on travel costs, but £14 really isn't that expensive especially if you consider the price of non league football these days.
  18. I was at the start, Shrews could have been 2 up. Second half was a stroll for Arsenal though. Good goal from Chamberlain, he played pretty well. Would love it if we got them away in the next round. Shrews must have had 4000 there tonight and made a fairly decent noise but Arsenal are so quiet we'd outsing them all night.
  19. Brilliant. Just wish I was gay or female so I could fancy him.

Could they mean in terms of match attendance? Probably helps that with 24 teams in the league there's loads more games than in Italy or Germany.
  21. Keep this ratio going until the end of the season and we'll romp the league on 105 points while they are relegated with 35.
  22. He's right, and I'll be at both.
  23. From Colchester away in March to now we have this record: P 24 W 21 D 1 L 2 F 58 A 20 Incredible and ridiculous stats.
  24. Guly's pass to Richardson for the 3rd goal was sex.
