3 goals in his last 28 games doesn't stand out as a great stat, although he's not really played many full matches in that time. Scored in his last game after coming off the bench.

Mordaunt just on the news saying she has more experience because she's held 9 ministerial roles since being an MP. 9!! Some of those must have been for 5 minutes each. -
He gets through a lot of work, puts himself about and is probably quite annoying to play against in that respect. However he just doesn't have the cutting edge or extra quality you need at the very top level against the best defenders.

I wonder if we stopped doing that because it made no difference as people were quite happy to in effect pay double to go to one game. There has to be a more robust policy for these games. Something like tickets only on sale to members with a purchase history since we last played that team.

He's hit a little bit of form which is nice. Just wish he'd be a bit more decisive with his shooting and have a go from the edge of the box more often. That block was great, but he only had to make it because he'd just scuffed a reasonably good chance from 6 yards out!

Here's the goal in case anyone fancies rewatching it 10 times or so. Such a great move.

Anyone else hiding in the stadium until the storm goes? No way am I going outside in that! Even the tannoy music is all rain related. From 30 minutes in we played very well. Every player did their bit, some very good performances from some of the more fringe players like Lyanco and Diallo. Perraud was excellent as was Stuart Armstrong and Caleta Car. Brilliant goal from us, really enjoyed that move. Interesting to see how often the formation switched, we were quite fluid with that throughout.

Fair enough. Would still be determined by the physio team rather than the manager though.

I guess so, and I said the other day that his lack of pace could be a big problem in that position. I guess we'll find out soon.

I find it really interesting that a load of random people on a forum have more insight into a players injury than the club. Does anyone seriously think Adams would be dropped or rested or whatever you want to call it if he was 100% fit? Also, it's not the manager who would be clearing a player to start or not, it's the physio team. But don't let that stop you frothing at the mouth with indignation about something you have no idea about.

Good to see him doing well. What position is he playing for Burnley, and is he being used in a similar role every game?

Interesting that Arsenal stuck with the manager that a lot of their fans wanted out last season. They backed him by getting rid of the bad eggs in the squad, spent a bunch of money in crucial areas and now they are flying. Last season they didn't have a decent striker. Now they do and look at the difference it's made. They've been patient with Martinelli, bringing him through slowly and stuck with players like Xhaka who was widely hated by the fans. I know all clubs and situations are different but it's interesting to see how things can change without necessarily having to sack a manager.
-
I'm blaming you for that! I watch them a fair bit and they have some decent players. A lot have been at the club for their whole careers as well as a manager with the record number of games, both which are very unusual at their level. They've been winning both the games they lost so will be disappointed they haven't got maximum points this season.

He put himself about a bit more last night which is what's required if you're off your game. He seems so sloppy in possession this season, although he's not the only one by any stretch. Plus he's not covering up any of his bad form with goals now the opposition have worked out it's better to let us just have the ball rather than foul a striker in a dangerous position on the edge of the box because we're more likely to score from one of his free kicks than a striker is from open play.

It got bigger when kids realised they could get a fuck load of free sweets for putting on a Frankenstein mask and doing a lap of the estate. I never went as a kid, just wasn't anything we bothered with. I reckon it's ramped up in the last 15 years or so, mainly the fault of our generation raising greedy children.
-
Why use that timeframe? I prefer to look at it as 4 points from 2 games which is Champions League qualification form.
-
We'll probably go 3 at the back with Larios and Perraud as full backs. I don't really see any other options unless we give Payne a debut or play Moi there but his lack of pace is a real problem in that position. No doubt we'll lose because they are an excellent side this season.

Some part time Spurs fan at work earlier was banging on about how he's the manager to take them to the next level and maybe win the league. All very strange.

One that could have gone better tonight was our fans giving that skate prick O'Neil a bit more abuse. What a massive bellend.
-
Do you watch football? Pretty much every team put out a different first 11 every match and change formations multiple times within a game.

Aribo was largely a passenger and was rightly taken off. I expect, as Hoddle said, that the plan was to push the fullbacks further forward but we'll never know.
-
Important to get a clean sheet there and other than Bazunu dropping that cross it was pretty comfortable. Bazunu was excellent otherwise, and all 3 CB's played well too. We only got any vague rhythm going forward when Stuart Armstrong came on. The most disappointing part of our play was the poor passing and needless turnover of possession, especially at times when players weren't even under pressure. Enjoy the win.

It's a shit chant because it's based on a horrific song and I hope we sell him in January so I don't have to listen to it again.
