Not sure why Adams went off. He was at least winning balls and causing their defenders some problems. Aribo going off was fine, he wasn't having a great game. Maitland-Niles was blowing out his arse so again that was understandable. Not sure how Moi stayed on, he did alright first half but was terrible in the second and is so painfully slow if we are playing on the break.

We were alright in the first half and created a reasonable number of chances. Second half sat back and did nothing.

Don't they have to provide alternative transport in those circumstances? Surely they can't just leave people stranded.

Slightly better than the Everton game but disappointing we retreated as the game went on. As soon as we did it allowed Rice to run the game, he probably won't have an easier afternoon this season than against our non-existent midfield. Not really sure what can be done about that until Lavia is back though because we're stuck playing people out of position in an important role. Thought Adams did well holding the ball up to a point but still made a number of sloppy passes and can't shoot. Luckily their strike force were equally inept at getting decent shots away or we'd have been looking at a defeat.

Whatever happens it will surely be more entertaining than Leicester v Palace was.

Am I allowed to say "just back from the game" anymore? But anyway, I am. We actually played pretty well, put some good passing moves together and created a fair few chances. Their experience and strength was the key though and they won a lot of the one on one battles around the pitch. 2 of their goals were very lucky, the second was from a horrendous shot that ended up at the foot of their striker and the 3rd was a huge deflection. We had a great chance to go 4-3 and it would have been very interesting if that had gone in. Morgan was very good, an excellent finish for the first and a lovely header for the second. Ballard did well, the new lad from Spurs was tricky but gave possession away cheaply at times. Dibling came on but barely touched the ball. Had to laugh out loud at their fans properly celebrating the first goal, they were bouncing down the aisles and all sorts which is a bit weird for a Hampshire cup game against a team full of kids. Some Saints stickers dotted around the away end and a few kids managed to decorate the toilets.

Really looking forward to 90 minutes of Westwood ringing his fucking bell. Anyone else going or is it just me?

I definitely think the overall quality of the Premier League has taken a big dip this season.

Got my tickets through the post the other day and then an email today telling me to pick them up from the ticket office tomorrow. Hopefully we'll go with some of the more experienced academy players rather than a really young side. Would be interesting to see a front line of Dibling, Ballard and Morgan.

I was surprised it wasn't still us. Might not be long until we look back on that period fondly as a time when we actually scored first in games.
