I thought he looked like a poacher, wont offer much in midfield or creating but is an out and out goal scorer - which is exactly what we need.

Decent article about Feyenoord's financial problems driving the academy to become best in Holland. A lot of echos with Saints. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-03-28/news/sns-rt-soccer-academiesnetherlands-feyenoord-20130328_1_youth-academy-tonny-vilhena-reuters

I can only see a pic of Luke and a bint. Who was the third, Rooney?
-
I think he'll develop into a great player, but it will take him a while. He'll be a 24 year old sensation, not a 19 year old one.
-
I used to have an all red pair of Patrick boots when I was about 12, really soft and thin leather. Great for silky skills (which I didn't have) but lousy for toe punting up the field.

Talking of which, how come Hitler doesn't jive in my avatar? Someone nutted it?

Mussolini and Osvaldo would have been a fairer comparison. Too many posters are ready to string people up for one mistake.

This. Would be mad to hand out new contracts before Koeman has an idea about strengths and weaknesses in the squad. Im happy with Fonte, but there are better players out there. The fact that Hull and QPR have come knocking as opposed to (allegedly) Barcelona and Liverpool for Lovren tells you something.
-
I'd go for Canterbury if the course is comparable. You're more likely to get a good degree being somewhere you like and are happy - and as already said Canterbury is a great studenty town in a nice part of the world.
-
Take the money on condition they walk away from Lovren.

It was "I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to be worrying about Adam lining up against us". He was talking to the journos in response to a question about playing against Lallana. Seems fairly clear he meant there is no story - ergo Lallana isn't going anywhere.

Got the look of a man whose been slapped down to me.
-
Seems a pretty fancy hairdo for a fanny.
-
Theres truth in that, but its also true (imo) that he feels he has earned a free pass like Lambert because of his sterling service to the club. The reality though is that Lambert over delivered year after year and paid back his transfer fee by a factor of 20. Lallana may have been around a long time but has only just started to pay back the investment made in him. One stellar season and a derisory offer from Liverpool is not enough.

Sure. Good influence on the youngsters whilst Learning under an established first team GK coach would work.
-
Hope not. Nice bloke but the PL is no place to learn your trade as the sole GK coach - and I cant imagine Boruc listening to him anyway.
-
Google gives access to more and better knowledge than an incomplete 25 year old memory.
-
Classic Alpine. Completely oblivious.
-
I doubt he is being looked at to replace Boruc, more likely to replace a retiring KD or Gazzaniga.

the field behind the Balmer Lawn Hotel....

So is your point that Koeman is a crap manager and the club should have appointed someone else? - or that people praising Koeman for the wrong reasons offends your sense of superiority?
-
Don't doubt it, but it would be odd to have not visited the place you would be working before taking the job. Who is the tubby in orange?
-
Why do you think you are the only one to be able to? I would guess people are excited because not only was a he stupendous player but he also has a solid and largely successful management track record, much more so than Pochettino or the other candidates.
-
It would help if people re-assessed their view every three months or so based on facts, instead of every three minutes based on the latest rumour / story.

This. He has too many limitations to be really great and has had too many 'no better than average' seasons. You couldn't be confident he would repeat last seasons efforts if we pulled out all the stops to keep him. I'd sell at anything north of £15m.
