Tuchel would be risk. Lots of managers have done well at one club and flopped badly subsequently. I'd prefer to see someone who has a solid track record - proof they have real abilities in gauging talent, tactics, development / coaching, man management etc etc and didnt just get lucky with a golden crop of players.

Hard to generalise, so I will . Younger guys tend to be building a reputation and are working their way up but might have young family reluctant to move repeatedly. Older (50) plus have grown kids and more freedom of movement but more often look at what is going to give them as good quality of life. Basically its down to personal characteristics and family situation, you cant second guess those.

So "yes" then

In that case why are the Shaw / Lallana transfer negotiations being played out the media? The club may not be doing it but someone is, and because they think it will bring pressure to bear. Just as important is manipulation of public opinion / fans expectations.

I wonder whether Ranieri's name is being used to get Koeman to moderate his demands.

As Gerry Francis is the only Englishman available, clearly they would insist on him.

I liked it better when Saints players earned around double the average national wage - equivalent of c£60,000 a YEAR, lived in a semi in Bitterne, drank in the local pub and didnt tell people living in a slum that all they needed was a bit of inspiration. Yeah I know that makes me sound old, but its a major part of the reason we couldnt sell out in supposedly our most successful season.

He's corrupt and he's paying his cronies to ensure he stays in pole position to rake in the chips. Defelects criticism with the most obvious defence which will have resonance in Africa and Latin America - "critics are driven by racism, they want to keep the darkies down". Its an obvious transparent self interest game, not sure why anyone is surprised (except by how blatant it is).

A lot of kids visited by the Royal Family are inspired to go on and be unelected dictators.

Thats the best summary of a glory hunter rather than football fan I've ever read.

She trusted him. He abused that trust. Not tricky is it?

Getting a good three or four man coaching team is as important as the manager. Thats would be my main concern about Koeman, if he comes alone and has to scrabble to find people and not only gel the team but also the coaches.

I used Brian Bullfitta on a Swedish website for a while for loz. The Eskimos have lots of words for snow but the Swedes classify their pudenda

Saw this today. A lot is wrong with stratospheric wages paid to PL players - but a PL club paying employees less than the minimum wage just brings it into focus. Personally I couldnt run a business that pandered to every whim of one group earning c£50,000pw whilst making a minimum wage group pay for their uniforms. "HMRC said this week that more than £4.6m had been paid out to 22,000 people, including staff at a Premier League club, who had been paid less than the minimum wage. The football club, which HMRC did not name, made staff pay for their uniforms and also made deductions for travelling time, had to pay arrears of more than £27,500 to 3,000 workers". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27751722

Actually its not.

no comparison. Poortvliet had never done anything in management and was being asked to play the academy. I doubt anyone could have kept that team up.

Fair enough. Glasgow's on borrowed time then.

Nearly every manager has got a patchy career. Even Ferguson got sacked at St Mirren and nearly lost his job at Man U. He's a big name which will help retain players, will possibly bring a good striker with him and plays football thats good to watch. Whether that helps with results, we'll see

How did he banned for relatively innocuous posts while Glasgow gets to peddle his twaddle incessantly?
-
We'd almost certainly make/save more by selling him for £5M than another loan whilst his contact run down.
