  1. Why are these supposed other bidders forever "waiting in the wings"....? We're no longer in a period of exclusivity so if they've got the cash just put in a bid and stop all this faffing around. FFS
  2. If one logically dissects Tony's opening line (which of course I would never do), is he suggesting that not all forum users are fans....?
  3. Pedantry alert... It's 'licence' (noun) rather than 'license' (verb)....unless you happen to be American. But that aside, cheers to Tony for the update.
  4. By jove....I think I've got it....it's Brian May....isn't it? We are the champions, my friend
  5. Are you saying the money (wo)man is The Queen?
  6. Your wish is my command....
  7. That name sounds familiar
  8. No. Fair point. But why would Lynam state that he wants the right to appeal if the FL hadn't retracted it? So, by deduction, we can assume that the FL have retracted the right to appeal...IMHO.
  9. TBF to DD, I think Mr Lynam's posts on here allude to the FL stance on not being able appeal but doesn't actually state it categorically (well, according to my skim reading technique!). The latest Echo article has a much more direct quote from TL though, IMO.
  10. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4451026.Pinnacle_fighting_for_right_of_appeal_against_points_deduction_in_Saints__takeover/ Lynam said: “The issue of the points deduction is for another day. We just want the right to appeal against it. "
  11. Have I got time for a wee?
  12. I believe the difference is that the administrators of this forum do not tell people that they can't appeal against any decision against them before accepting their fiver.
  13. Let's face it.....It's not gonna be today, is it?
  14. "please bear in mind that Southampton Football Club will be a member of the Football League." Even if we don't bow to their demands?
  15. Maybe Pinnacle have said to the FL: "OK, we'll reluctantly take the 10 points but how do we then comply with your CVA rule?". Hence the FL meeting today?
  16. The trouble is, if we comply with one rule (i.e. the 10 points) it's then impossible to comply with the next rule (i.e. the CVA). The only way we could do this is if the Football Club was forced into admin too....hmmm, now how would the FL achieve that I wonder...? Delay things at the last minute perhaps....? Hmmmm....
  17. Cheers - yep, sums it up nicely. So, in other words, the football league have created a set of rules that, in our circumstance, is impossible to comply with even if we do what they want us to do in respect of the 10 point penalty?
  18. I think Pooh Sticks would be more appropriate for our current predicament...
  19. Indeed. "Why?" crossed my mind too. It's unusual for Sale to mention SFC 'off the cuff'...IMHO of course
  20. What 'type' of what?

  22. So, the Sale piece in the D.Mail this morning could just be Lowe going into derriere covering mode in anticipation of the FL decision later?
  23. Surely someone must know what time the FL meeting is?
  24. Why does it matter whether we deliberately set out to exploit this loophole or just stumbled into it? Surely it doesn't affect the legal position (as opposed to the moral position) one iota?
  25. Small piece from Charles Sale in the mail today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1194532/Charles-Sale.html "Troubled League One club Southampton are confident that they will not be docked 10 points next season for going into administration. Their lawyers believe they have a watertight case that Football league rules refer to a football club going to the wall — not the club's holding company which was the case at St Mary's. " Doesn't say anything new but it has been alleged in the past that Sale get's his SFC feeds from a certain ex-chairman
