Going into admin doesn't forfeit the parachute money however... From the minutes of the meeting between Pompey fan groups and the Premier League. KM - Asked, should future payments to other clubs not be paid, could the parachute payments be withheld if needed? RS - Yes, this has been done once before in similar circumstances at Derby County. Mr Scudamore said that withholding the television money owed to PFC was a difficult decision to make as the PL had a balancing act to do in safeguarding the need for creditors to receive the money and still allowing PFC to keep operating. The PL believes it has got this balance about right. The PFC fans delegation agreed that it was the right thing to do and that while painful to see the transfer embargo in place, the majority of fans agreed with it.

Particularly as if they did goes out of business and the match didn't happen we'd all get refunds.

Does being in these last minute talks mean that Pompey if it goes to court won't get the extension Notts County did? I think so or else why are they bothering. ...anyway they had ample time in January to sell more than just Kaboul and Begovic but decided not to, so they could have paid the taxman everything in one lump sum.

The F.A. are sending the England World Cup trio of Webb, Mullarkey and Cann for the derby game. Should be a good warm up for them on the South Coast before they goto the smaller, less pressurised event in South Africa.

Puncheon, Seaborne, Barnard and Otsemobor can't play. -
As an antique bookshop worker?
-
Of course Saints would. What else do you think could happen?
-
It is a bloke actually! The Delays are a Southampton band and this song was used on the BBC for Goal of the Month so I thought it was appropriate.
-
The video I made is better!
-
Your argument of tradition is flawed when the idea is a return to the 1st ever kit. You can't get more traditional than that! Thus the whole thread is null and void.
-
You can't get more traditional than wearing a kit in the style of your first ever kit. If you were born in 1860 you would have been up in arms that Saints changed from a sash to halves and then stripes. You would be making a thread saying Saints should be sashes forever!!!! Unlike the 80's where there possibly may not have been a return to stripes, this is a one off, one year only kit. It isn't something to get angry about.
-
docker-p, If you were a Leeds or Crystal Palace fan what kit would you like to wear to celebrate an anniversary? Leeds didn't wear white until the 1960's and Palace in Red/Blue until the 1970's. Saints 125 year kit is for one season and one season only. In 2011 it will be back to red/white stripes. I really don't see the issue here.

It has nothing to do with the Premier League. All down to the courts and the taxman now.
-
What makes you so confident?
-
Permission from?
-
I think Jacob is just lying, hoping this will delay the winding up order as it did for Notts County. I doubt the courts/taxman will fall for it.
-
Notts County only got an extension because they showed the court they had investment lined up. If Pompey can't do this then the High Court/Taxman won't want to delay the inevitable if they know that in 28, 42 or 1000 days time it still won't be paid.
-
Exactly. The already wound up King's Lynn earlier this year. Premiership or non league makes no difference to the Courts or Taxman.
-
I think there is a high chance there won't be. Notts County were only given extra time because they showed they had a potential buyer lined up. Pompey haven't got this. Plus they have defaulted in the past and their debts dwarf Notts County £300k taxman bill.
-
It is irrelevant if they are in the Premiership or not. This is not a sporting decision, we are dealing with the High Court and Taxman here. They wouldn't give a ****.
-
Actually if the game doesn't go ahead I may keep my ticket as a collectors item and have it framed as the "game that never happened".
-
I think Mr Cortese would appease the 30k fans by giving everyone with a ticket a refund.
-
This is a non story!!! It is not written off or even helping Pompey really. 1) If the game goes ahead then it can be deducted from the gate receipts Saints would have to pay Pompey. 2) If the game doesn't go ahead then it doesn't matter as no-one would have a ticket as would all have to be refunded anyway.
