  1. The article acknowledges the club is currently Swiss owned and not English owned. I would imagine their point is that it is remaining foreign owned in any new transaction. It is a rather pointless article, but what cellone has picked them up on isn't really the case, they state in the article we are Swiss and not English owned.
  2. Wouldn't a link to the article in question have been useful? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/783927/Exclusive-Foreign-invasion-English-Premier-League-Southampton-News-Gossip I'm not sure why it is labelled an "exclusive", but I don't see what about Saints in that article is incorrect. It acknowledges that Saints are currently Swiss owned and says another foreign owner may buy them. So what is your issue exactly?
  3. Dennis Wise Gareth Southgate Kevin Phillips Were all let go as kids by Saints.
  4. You two didn't read/understand what I said. In a 4-2-3-1 the "2" (Romeu and Davis) aren't DMs, they are CMs. In Puel's 4-3-3 one of the midfield 3 (Romeu) is a DM and the other two of the three are CMs. What I said stands, Steven Davis has never played as a DM for Saints. He has been a CM, AM and wide player. Never has he been used as the sitter (DM).
  5. Not sure why people keep using DM with Davis. In his 5 years at the club I can't think of a single game where Davis as played as a DM. He has been a CM, AM or out wide, never a DM. A DM is someone who sits just in front of the defence, like Romeu did in the 4-3-3 we used under Puel. - In the current 4-2-3-1, Davis is used as a CM, Tadic is an AM - In the 4-3-3 under Puel earlier in the season, Davis was used as a CM alongside one of Clasie/Ward-Prowse/Hojbjerg and Romeu was the DM
  6. 150/1 on SkyBet for 6-0 to Saints.
  7. Michael Eisner has revealed his first plans for the club's future involve a change to the badge...
  8. Why? We beat them at Dean Court quite easily without him under Claude Puel.
  9. Why would we confirm that? It is a derby, just not our main one.
  10. 3 questions... 1) I find it odd the paper still talks about it being "shares" the fans own, they aren't shares in a legal sense are they? More donations with a certificate printed off on a fans trust printer. 2) The article calls him a "billionaire", but is there any evidence he is a billionaire in pounds sterling rather than USD? 3) If the takeover happens, can we then legitimately call them Mickey Mouse club?
  11. If you think he is Championship level, then you are utterly clueless at being able to judge player ability.
  12. Man City are paying the bulk of his wages at Torino and it is not unheard of for clubs to subsidise wages until the end of the original contract in order to sell a player.
  13. I didn't pass comment as to if I thought it was true or not, I merely linked to the story.
  14. Fraser Forster to Everton Joe Hart to Southampton A possibility according to the Daily Mail... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4321844/Southampton-consider-bid-Man-City-s-Joe-Hart.html
  15. Tell him Gabbiadini hasn't played in the English League Cup this season with Italian team Napoli... so isn't cup tied!
  16. He was holding his hamstring as he went off the pitch...

  18. That is a bizarre way to judge a player, as it removes all context.
  19. My "stats world", has him as the 10th best keeper in the Premier League. Is that unreasonable?
  20. I'd be surprised if... - Jeremy Pied isn't the 2nd choice right back next season. He is back doing ball work at the moment. Plus where are you expecting us to sell Forster? He is on a big wage, under contract until 2021, cost us £10m and his value would now be higher. Which club would need him and would he agree to leave us for? He really isn't remotely as bad as some on this forum make out and I'm happy with him as 1st choice keeper.
  21. The Southern League pre the 1920s appears written off by many, but it was a decent standard compared to the Football League at the time. Southern League teams count as "non league", yet Saints made the final of the FA Cup as a "non league team" in 1900 and 1902.Other Southern League teams also were able to be more than a match for the northern Football League teams in the FA Cup.
  22. Nope, I only quoted one sentence from that post... the one about Les Reed where he was talking about squad depth in general. My point was that Reed talking about Caceres adding to squad depth doesn't mean Caceres i a back-up player, he is adding to numbers of CBs. As I mentioned, I think it is likely with everyone fit, Caceres would only be behind van Dijk in pecking order.
  23. I think you need to re-read my post in the context of what it was replying to and you will see that at no point did I say he should (or shouldn't) start the cup final. You've twisted my post quite badly.
  24. He hasn't joined to play second fiddle to Stephens whilst van Dijk is injured. When all are fully fit the pecking order is most likely going to be... van Dijk Caceres Yoshida Stephens Gardos The way Caceres talks about the final and his expressions in the interview make me think he feels he has a chance of starting. Of course we all know given he hasn't played for a year that is a big risk, but in terms of quality he is some way ahead of Stephens. Impossible to really know what we'll do without seeing him in training, but Puel has over a week of training to decide if he is ready or not.
  25. He sure is! A big clue (apart form the nonsense he writes) is in his twitter bio he describes himself as a "Reputable established football associate". Isn't that for others to decide, rather than using it to describe yourself?
