I can also see why managers would favour Ward-Prowse and S.Davis for the more advanced roles. As I said Cork is a good player, but he is going to struggle for starts this season if he stays at Saints.

How do you know that? Just because the club aren't giving you (or the press) a minute by minute update doesn't mean they aren't doing anything on the transfer front.
