  1. Reminiscent of this...
  2. Our form since the squad adapted to the Premier League in the beginning of November has been that of a top 7 team. As a newly promoted side we have a good chance of a top 10 finish in our first season back, I doubt Cortese will be happy to settle for the same again next season. He brought in Pochettino for a reason, that reason is unlikely to be because he is happy to see mid table mediocrity year after year. If we can come mid table in our first season when it took 10 games to get going (1 win, 1 draw, 8 defeats and 28 goals conceded in those opening 10 games), imagine what we'd do with more investment this summer, a pre-season with the squad for Pochettino and a squad now already adapted to life in the Premier from day one of the season. We should (in theory) have a better season next season.
  3. Did Everton spend £150m? Did Newcastle spent £150m? etc etc In any case Saints spent close to £40m in 2012/13, plus had a number of players in the squad already worth a great deal of money before the summer of 2012 spending spree - Shaw, Lambert, Lallana, Schneiderlin, Cork.
  4. Do you cheer when Saints score or sit in silence?
  5. I'm sure he is great bloke, he comes across as nice on the radio. But his views on football are very outdated and he is like a broken record saying things like every time Saints take the lead... "what Saints don't want to do now is concede a goal". Really Dave?... insightful stuff!
  6. It does still happen.
  7. No he didn't. He said "in next 3 or 4 years"... http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/saggers-and-quinny/blog/2011-06-22/kean-im-sure-blackburn-will-be-champions-league-next-three-or-four-years Plus he also was a terrible manager working for clueless owners. Based on track records in football ownership and resources, which would you have more trust in to achieve their ambitions? or
  8. It does make sense, if there is more room in the stadium (not the capacity). But is it true and has he actually got the research to prove it or is it just another Pompey myth plucked out of the air? All the other stadiums around the same capacity of Fratton Park. He isn't even right when he says Fratton Park has a 20,000 capacity so I included all stadiums around the 20k to 22k mark... 22k Stadium:mk 21k Turf Moor 21k Ashton Gate 21k Fratton Park 20k Liberty Stadium 20k Meadow Lane Fratton Park is certainly not bigger than Stadium:mk, they even have the space to rise capacity to 32,000 already, just need to put the seats in the upper tier... So what has Iain McInnes done to know Fratton Park is bigger than Turf Moor, Ashton Gate, Liberty Stadium and Meadow Lane?
  9. 73 years after the aborted "Operation Sealion", it looks like 50,000 Germans are heading to invade London.
  10. So if he did this we should just accept it, not question it and play along...? NORTH Aston Villa Everton Chelsea Liverpool Manchester United Fulham Norwich City Queens Park Rangers Reading West Ham United SOUTH Arsenal Southampton Swansea City Stoke City Sunderland Newcastle United Sunderland West Bromwich Albion Wigan Athletic Tottenham Hotspur Manchester City He had 2 team in the wrong category. What if it was 4, 6, 8? Would you just let him get that wrong and play along? How has pointing it out "ruined the thread"?
  11. Norwich is further north than both Aston Villa and West Brom.
  12. The last four home games of our Championship season sold out in the home end under Adkins I think.
  13. They sold out an hour ago... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/only-hospitality-left-for-last-match-788500.aspx Only hospitality seats left.
  14. Surprised you didn't put that game into the context we were in at the time. Saints sacked an extremely popular manager before that game and the fanbase wasn't exactly enthused by the situation. It was also 28,359 not 28,000 and with only 2,483 Everton fans there were many empty seats in the away end.
  15. Yes, it will affect Liverpool as he will effectively get a red card for it. Liverpool have already apparently said they don't want to go into Europe this way and it all won't matter anyway if England don't make the top 3 in Europe.
  16. The last 5 games in a row have sold out (Stoke will be the 6th) and we are averaging close to 31k.
  17. A clue from earlier in the season...
  18. They probably didn't take you seriously.
  19. But as the table currently stands it has not taken them above. You are all talking about if in the future a team gets a further point then they go above team A. What if my table was after 38 games? Team B would be down.
  20. What about as I listed - Nottingham Forest in 2009? 2009 is more recent than 2004 isn't it?
  21. 2013 home to Stoke City 2012 home to Coventry City 2011 home to Walsall 2010 home to Southend United 2009 away at Nottingham Forest
  22. You'll have to go in hospitality.
  23. I thought some people said "if people want tickets for a Saints game next season in the Premier League they will get them". That theory doesn't really stand up if demand outstrips supply.
