Fusu, Blackwood and McCarthy - Task to find out who they are!
Matthew Le God replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Good spot and seems possible. Fits in with the requirements of the development team. -
Tonights line-up against Eastleigh... Forecast, Blackwood, Dickson, Racine, Dean, Robinson, Fusu, Holmes, Isgrove, Forte, Mills subs: Dovey, Hoskins, Saville, Seidi, McCarthy Everyone there I know, apart from I have no idea who Blackwood or Fusu are! Lets track them down using the wonders of Google... Update Blackwood - OS confirm "Blackwood" is Anton Blackwood, formally of Arsenal and Tottenham (goes off injured after 16 minutes) Fusu - Might be Jessy Teboul Lando Fusu

Possibly they are trialists, as the under 18's (with a squad of 22 players) are in Scandinavia at the moment.

There is a significant difference between people amending player entries on Wikipedia saying they have signed for Saints and someone editing the record on Wikipedia for the African Cup of Nations qualifying to make it look like Tunisia may not qualify. If you can't see that I don't know what I can say to you. In any case that Wiki page has numerous links to reliable sources which corroborate it.

Contrary to what some Saints fans believe, Leeds United still haven't sold out their allocation. They are very close though... http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20110802/last-100-for-southampton_2247585_2408065

People that eat before and/or after going out to the football. Pointless queuing for a pie or a drink when you have paid to watch football. May as well give Greggs £30 to stand in their queue in the city centre whilst the game is going on.
-
And a lot have a season ticket, meaning you get a discounted price. My match-day spend is £22.40 per game with my season ticket, plus £2.50 on a dayrider ticket to get to St Mary's and to the pub.
-
Someone that if in your position would take note of the solution to your problem and use it, instead of endlessly complaining about an avoidable issue.
-
Don't complain then, as there is a simple solution, which you refuse to do.
-
Get a friend/relative to buy them and then buy match tickets in advance when you are at the stadium for another match. Or get a season ticket.
-
Or you could buy the tickets before the day of the game and pay no "stadium/ticket tax" at all.

You ignored all my points about Burnley, Blackpool and everyone else (Leeds, Reading, Cardiff etc). How are they equal or stronger than last year having lost their best players and not signed better?
-
You still haven't explained to me the huge number of better teams this season compared to last... - Blackpool have lost Vaughan, Adams and will lose Campbell. They haven't replaced them with anything similar or better. - Birmingham will soon be ripped apart. - Leeds have lost a number of players and not replaced them with any better. - Burnley have lost a number of key players like Cork, Mears and Eagles and not replaced them with better. - Nottingham Forest have lost a number of key players and haven't been spending this summer. - Middlesborough have run out of parachute money and are selling all the high earners and relying on youth players. - Reading have lost a number of key players including their captain Mills and look like they will lose Long. - Cardiff lost a lot of important players, Bellamy, Bothroyd and Burke etc - Pompey have a squad of 15 players. etc etc... Saints haven't lost anyone and have signed Cork and De Ridder. It is only really the West Ham and Leicester City squads that look to have a real threat about them.

Significantly worse than the three promoted League One sides from last season, Norwich 2nd, Leeds 7th and Millwall 8th. None of which have the budget Saints do and Saints outperformed all three when the January 2010 window closed.

The Times thinks 16th... http://yfrog.com/gz54076460j The Independent thinks "Play-offs look within reach"... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/the-championship-team-by-team-guide-2329135.html Quite a range between the two!

I don't see this as a major issue, most pitches in the Championship cope very well in the winter.

Nigel Adkins' actual words were "I'm sure there might be a little bit of movement over the weekend" not "by the weekend". Which implies today/tomorrow. Interview starts at 3:40:00 and comments on transfers are at 3:43:00 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00j4zdt/BBC_Radio_Solent_Sport_30_07_2011/

Why do you think this match isn't preparation?

Milan Mandaric sold Leicester City in August 2010 and he brought Sheffield Wednesday in December 2010. Leicester City are now owned by Thai multi millionaire Vichai Raksriaksorn.
-
Possibly just that he has been dealing with the Pompey game being moved for broadcast live on the BBC, Davis new contract and highlights video of last nights game to do.
-
tbf to McCoist that was very early in his career. If he had moved at his peak, he would have done quite well in the English top flight I think.
-
Why do you think the Championship will be so much of a step up? 14 teams better than Saints? Norwich, Leeds and Millwall all finished in the top 8 in their first season after promotion. None of them have the budget Saints do. Saints have outspent the majority of Championship teams since the summer of 2009. Of course money is no guarantee of success, but it helps usually.
