I really don't get the idea that rebuilding St Mary's one side at a time, would cost more than developing a brand new stadium on a green field site. A recent example of a fairly new stadium is the Amex. I think the Amex cost around £100m to build, and that stadium is smaller than SMS......

I don't think it makes any difference who the bid comes from (including Southampton). If that story about the percentage is true, it just means a percentage comes back to Southampton............

It must really put doubt in the mind of players like Schneiderlin and Clyne if players like Bertrand and Toby want to stay at Southampton. They know they could be pipped at the post for Champions League football at Liverpool and Spurs by Saints......

I think Milner is an improvement (sadly) Gerrard. Also never got the hype as regards Sterling......

Trouble is, Southampton will probably never ever get to see the whole £16m. The £16m was based on add ons, though I suppose some of that must have related to his full England cap.

I still don't get the 7m figure quoted in the original loan agreement to make the deal permanent. Why bother quoting it at all if we were likely to have to pay more if he had a good season at Southampton.
