Is that his geeky shrill voice that sings matter-of-factly "We are goin' up"? -

You seem to be basing your opinion of Lambert on last season, which I'm sure even he would admit was a poor season by his standards, yet he still scored around 25 goals. The season before he carried this team. He has excellent technique for a player that has played his entire career in the bottom 2 divisions and is capable of scoring from anywhere. I'd rather have a player with that ability than Mackail-Smith. Yes, he had a good season last year but I liken scoring bags of goals for Peterborough to scoring bags of goals in the Tyro league. Looks great on your stats but not much use when you are losing 5-3 and drawing 4-4 every other week. He scored goals because he played in a team that went gung-ho in every game. As a team, they created lots of chances but also gave away loads too.

I think people are a bit harsh on Rickie Lambert to be honest. He is twice as technically gifted as Mackail-Smith. CMS might work harder and would actually be the ideal partner for RL but as a player, Lambert is by far and away a more gifted player.

Certainly a very economical way of thinking about things. -
Plus, the $luts, weed and mushrooms are quality.

I've heard after his performance away to Bournemouth they are going to turn him in to a defender.

My mate is the drummer in The Vaccines. He's a Chandlers Ford boy. They play some good stuff and have been supporting the Arctic Monkeys recently. I read some article on the NME about them being the "saviours of rock and roll". As good a lad he is and as much as I like their album, if they are the saviours of rock and roll I think we should call it a day. The only "new" mainstream band that has come out in the last 5 years that will stand the test of time is the Arctic Monkeys from their first two albums which were a breath of fresh air. Their 3rd was too arty and I hope they revert to type for their upcoming 4th and sing about what they know again.

I'll happily listen to any tune on Definitely Maybe, Whats The Story or The Masterplan. Anything else is pretty damn average.

Acquiesce for me. Someone mentioned OCS. I have to say I agree.

Never. Its a great tune. My best mate at the time was a metal head who hated all things in the chart no matter how good it might have been. The kind that instantly started disliking the likes of KoRn, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson etc... the minute they seemed to get a bit of cross over success. I played Slight Return to him and he loved it though. Sadly he died a few years ago at the tender age of 21 because he turned in to a very silly man but the song reminds me of growing up with him and brings back some very funny, happy memories.

Hardest ****ing Years/Schools in Southampton...
sambosa75 replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Lounge
It's all about Thornden. We had a school of nutters next door called Pitmore. We'd just set them lose on you whilst we play Tennis or perhaps take in a show in the Arts theatre. -
Did he do anything other the take the ****? I dont think he was ever nasty to anyone. Just very sarcastic. I enjoyed his input.

Even Capello does it. There was an article about it in the Guardian about a month ago. Apparently it is something that is taught to budding politicians by media experts. It implies an air of authority and fact in what you are saying and apparently sub-conciously encourages the person being spoken to accept it as fact and not query what has been said. At least this is what I was told when I arksed a media expert.

Did I put a gun to your head and tell you to register? The company is valued at £1.4bn so they must be doing something right. At the end of the day, you opted in to receiving emails from them and all they are doing is sending you the emails that you have asked for. I will concede though that they are becoming victims of their own success. I have actually left them now, otherwise I would have happily asked for your email and had your name removed from the mailing list. You know, the one you opted in to being on. Much love xxx

2 pages. Never more. People who read CVs will not read through pages and pages to find what they are looking for. They will scan CVs and if they dont find what they are looking for, the CV goes on the "No" pile. Much better chance they will find what they are looking for in 2 simple pages.

Mates sister did a kiss and tell on Kevin Pietersen at the height of his fame, post ashes 2005. Made enough money from the story to pay off her student debts and a deposit on a house. She later admitted to me she'd never even met KP... Priceless

Not true. Brand identity is very important and Coca-Cola's association with FIFA could potentially damage their associations with other companies too. Why would a company want to be associated with Coca-Cola when they are seen as backing a corrupt organisation such as FIFA? It's not just about the people buying the product in the shop.
-
All jokes aside, why does FIFA actually exist? At what point did the FA, considering the game was invented in England and we were the first nation to have leagues and cup competitions etc.. decide they wanted another organisation to run football on a global scale... anyone know?
-
How have you worked that out? His last season at Man Utd he scored 44 goals and his goals record at Real Madrid is 66 goals in 63 games. That's 1.05 goals EVERY game he has played for 2 seasons in La Liga.

Can we have the player as well?
