  1. Butterfield has more experience, I would stick with him. We need wise heads right now. Although we are blessed with a couple of decent right backs with good experience. As we are left backs.
  2. I definitely think the club should be considering update the badge. I am usually a big fan of hanging on to things like this as its part of the clubs heritage but lets face it, its a bit naff and could definitely do with an update. I too would lose the scarf, we know Southampton play in red and white, the football (the FC bit in our name gives away the fact we are a football club). I think the halo is worth keeping. We are the Saints after all.
  3. From what I have seen and heard of him he is the kind of player that makes things happen. He might not be the most clinical finisher in the squad but whenever he plays he gets chances and that cant just purely by coincidence. You have to be a good player to get in to those types of positions in the first place and he does this on a regular basis. Frustrating at times maybe, but bad? Certainly not.
  4. Probably worth also pointing out that at the time Drogba wasnt exactly "hot property". He had a very average goals to game ratio in an inferior league to the one we were in at the time. As for Adebayor, he was absolute pony in his first couple of years at Arsenal. A total headless chicken but became a better player due to the players around him. I dont think he would have improved at such a rate had he signed for Saints. Saha and Malbranque would have been great signings but as someone else said, when did we ever spend £6m on one player, let alone £12m for two.
  5. Yeah I thought Khan was comfortable outpointing and outworking McCloskey but his attacks didnt seem to be causing McCloskey too much trouble whereas the few times McCloskey landed with anything solid it did seem to rattle Khan. There is no doubt Amir has improved considerably under Freddie Roach and through sparring with Pacquiao but that chin of his is still very, very vulnerable and against a more seasoned fighter who is capable of banging and defending themselves he will come up short.
  6. Get in there Guly. Most important goal of the season?
  7. Come on Saints early goal in the 2nd half please...
  8. Come on Saints. Lets have a comfortable win today. I'm far too hungover to deal with the stress of a close match.
  9. I'm not so sure. Brighton are now a team playing without pressure. It can go two ways either they roll over against a side who are still doggedly fighting to join them in promotion or they spray the ball around, pass us off the park and hammer us. I've not done the maths but there is a chance that if they win against us it would confirm that they have won the league which is an extra motivation in itself. Also there is the fact the Brighton fans, players and coaching staff all seem to have a massive chip on their shoulders about us and would love nothing more than to put a dent in our promotion hopes. I really dont think it will be as easy as "they are already promoted so wont try hard against us." I think your dreaming if this is what you believe.
  10. When was the last time you looked at my bum, John?!

  13. Just had another go at the predictor, here is what I predicted: Saints remaining fixtures: Bristol Rovers H 3-1 Win Brighton A 1-2 Loss Hartlepool H 2-0 Win Brentford A 1-1 Draw Plymouth A 2-0 Win Walsall H 1-1 Draw Saints to get 11 more points from remaining fixtures Huddersfield remaining fixtures: Charlton A 2-1 Win MK Dons A 1-1 Draw Dag & Red H 2-0 Win Brighton A 1-2 Loss Brentford H 2-0 Win Hudds to get 10 more points from remaining fixtures Peterborough remaining fixtures: Plymouth H 2-1 Win Leyton Orient A 0-1 Loss Yeovil H 3-1 Win Rochdale A 1-1 Draw Dag & Red H 1-0 Win Peterborough to get 10 more points from remaining games. League table to finish as: 1. Brighton - 105 points 2. SAINTS - 85 Points 3. Huddersfield - 84 Points 4. Peterborough - 81 Points 5. MK Dons - 81 Points 6. Bompey - 74 Points Admittedly my predictions are pretty pessimistic. I really would expect wins against Brentford and Walsall but think with Walsall in particular we'll let the occasion get the better of us and they'll be scrapping to stay up. I just cant see further than Saints getting promoted. If only it was this easy though.

  15. Jango Radio is my favourite find at the moment. You type in an artist you like and it plays tunes by that artist and similar artists. Great way of finding out about bands you might not have heard much stuff from before.
