Not read everyone elses comments but I dont need to because I know I am right... Cortese is brilliant. He is beligerent, brash and driven. Exactly the type of guy we need at the helm if we are serious about attaining Premier League status again within 4 years. Him flogging Matty and banning Franny leaves a bit of a sour taste but business-wise, he is totally focussed on where we are moving and making sure we achieve it properly.

Hi ian, have you checked out TK Maxx? They regularly sell decent enough footy boots at a fraction of the original price. Admittedly you are going to fine a paid of mercurials, tiempos or mundials but they will be decent makes such as Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Puma, leather and a choice between moulded and screw-in. I too would opt for moulded but leave the blades alone.

a lot of heat towards someone who it comes across is only disliked for being a bigger boy. Fair play to him I say. He's enjoying his fame and making the most of it. Not exactly his fault. I'd hedge a bet not many people on here have had a smash hit comedy commissioned by the BBC. He's not my cup of tea personally but I'm not going to sit here and hate him because he happens to be overweight.

Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
sambosa75 replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
The same Puncheon that got in to the League 1 team of the season? Puncheon has got everything a winger needs and replacing him on the right wing when he is left footed and totally devoid of pace would not be the wisest of moves. Puncheon has proven on his day he is untouchable at this level and definitely has the potential to grow with us as well. Particularly with the loss of Waigo and by the looks of it Antonio, I dont think taking Punch out of the team would do much for the overall pace of the team would it? As for whoever said Surman is "absolute class" I'd like to know on what basis they have formed this opinion. -

Surman wouldnt get in to the team anyway. He doesnt have Hammond's aggression and Morgan is in my opinion a better player. If Surman goes to Norwich that will be his level for the rest of his career probably. Mid-Championship level. Morgan has the potential to grow with us all the way to the Premier League, Surman despite being a half decent player AND local lad, probably doesnt. Good luck to him though. -

It seems most peoples problem towards James Corden is that he happens to be overwight yet is enjoying fame and success. I dont think Corden is among the elite when it comes to British writers, actors and comedians but the fact is he wrote a Smash Hit along with Ruth Jones in Gavin and Stacey which lasted 3 series and yet the public are crying out for more. Fair play to him, he knew when to stop. Another thing worth noting is I'm sure Patrick Stewart has a whole raft of overweight fans, so why he felt the need to bring up an issue such as weight and risk alienating his more portly fans is beyond me. Both of them were guilty of indulging in one-upmanship but Stewart started it and Corden dealt with it better but it really should never have happened.

Personally I think if this hasnt been decided by now Cortese and Liebherr need to find some other club to f**k about with.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer
sambosa75 replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
It might actually be worth noting Alpine that the transfer window isnt even officially open yet. It opens at the start of July. Alps, chill the f*ck out. The transfer window is still closed and pre-season training hasnt even started yet. How many other clubs are signing players left right and centre at the moment? The only team to make a notable signing so far has been Man City with Boateng and thats because they have signed him on a pre-contract. Just enjoy the World Cup and see where we are in a months time. -

Get over it mate. It's a business and you are a customer. A customer is required to meet the terms of purchase set out by the vendor. Sometimes its not convenient and sometimes due to circumstances the terms of purchase change. If you cant afford the season ticket or choose not to purchase that is your problem, not the clubs. Frankly speaking, a boycott of any description is f**king ludicrous given what Cortese and Liebherr have done for the club in such a short space of time.
-
Anyone who seriously avocates what the original idiot poster has proposed should in my opinion be banned by Cortese from setting foot in the stadium. FFS, they've scrapped the payment plan, not shut the club down. I dont care how small your boycott is, YOU ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A CLUB!! We nearly got shut down but were saved by a billionaire who has invested massively in our club yet just because they are now asking for money up front for a season ticket, you see fit to call a boycott? Stop being such a whiny baby and get over it FFS.

I hope we get to see the Olympics first.

I've gone for; Buffon D. Alves Mertesacker Ferdinand Evra Kaka Xavi Malouda Messi Torres C. Ronaldo Subs; Ochoa, Subotic, Huggel, Gourcuff EASY EASY EASY!

I'd imagine Lines and Rickie are maybe still mates though. Lines would be aware of the clause in his contract and probably quite fancies the move after hearing Rickie bang on about how great he club is and how much he is enjoying himself and told Rickie of the clause, hoping he'd let Pardew know.

I'd do Hurghada in Egypt. You'll get a great deal with that budget. It sounds typically "Brit abroad" mentality but do some research first and go to a hotel with a private beach that doesnt allow Russians to stay there. If you go to a hotel that allows Russians you have to put up with their awful food (steamed cabbage in 40 degree heat anyone?!) plus their rudeness. They are notoriously rude travellers.

St Etienne interested in Schneiderlin
sambosa75 replied to forever a red and white's topic in The Saints
To be fair, there arent many examples of Billionaire clubs in the 3rd tier. The fact is unlike the Premier League, someone like Ronaldo or Fabregas eventually gets sold in these circumstances because they are on £100k+ a week but if Morgan kicked up a fuss, we'd have no trouble covering his c.£5k a week wages until a potential suitor offered what we thought he was worth which would be a lot more than £1m. -
My Dad used to take me back in the late 80's/early 90's when kids got in free if they were carried in on their Dads shoulders. He used to mind the door at the Gateway pub. I hated it because I'd have to wait around for hours whilst he worked as usually get in the game after kick off. I remember Barry Horne once scored a late, late goal by dinking it over the onrushing keeper and there was a pitch invasion (thats what my memory is telling me anyway!). To this day I cant remember the circumstances of the goal and why there was a pitch invasion (maybe someone here knows). From that day on, I was hooked.

I cant say who exactly but a lot of people I speak to involved within the club say him and his brother when he was here had the attitude they had "made it" from a very early age which has hampered their overall development.
-
What is some peoples problem? Signing Dickson would mean we would have 2 quality left backs in our squad. Mills is far too lightweight to be relied upon and has a bad attitude problem by all accounts. Dickson would provide Harding with competition which I'm sure as a professional he would welcome and means we have a sound replacement when the other is injured, out of form or in need of a rest.

my mate (arsenal season ticket holder but from bournemouth) was having a kickabout with his mates on kensington gardens this morning when they went for their walk and started singing "you skate b*stards" at them, whilst they were being filmed. David James gave him the thumbs up... *****.
-
I'd choose Spain too. A tour of the Costa Blanca perhaps... playing Hercules, Villarreal and Valencia would do me nicely!
-
They do allow you to pay in monthly installments though, spread over 12 months and not for the term of the season which I find really helpful. My mate at work is a Liverpool fans and goes up as often as he can but also has a Fulham season ticket as he only has to pay about £30 a month and gets at least 2 games a month during the season.

A great letter addressing many key points. The only thing I read which I didnt like was implying that Matt Le Tissier was trying to harm the club by throwing his support behind Pinnacle. We are all sure it was done in good faith and he had no agenda in doing so other than wanting what was best for SFC. Great letter Nicola, but please dont alienate such a club legend as Matt Le Tissier. Without him, I dare say the club would exist these days for you to take forward.
