Isn't the real issue we got promoted to the PL ahead of schedule? If we had followed the 5 year plan we would have seen a lot more of Lee and Sharp and a few others maybe - that's life we achieved the PL ahead of schedule so we have a number of players on longish contracts that are now surplus to requirements whilst we had to buy in more talent to compete in the PL. Good luck to him I hope he can secure is place in the Japanese team
