Holy crap! On Saturday I posted a note to ask how the evening went. I was hoping to get an idea of the numbers of people, money raised and any comments from the guest speakers that would be of interest to us fans. It's now Thursday and this thread is embroiled in argument!! If I was back in Blighty I would have happily spent money to attend this evening. If my wife did not want to come with me I would ask a mate - no problem. The point of this type of evening is to raise funds for the charity. Choosing local 'celebs' related to SFC to host/speak is always going to be popular and therefore successful for the charity. An "Evening with Sally Taylor" may be attractive to some, but I would guess not to as many as MLT or with a SFC theme. Therefore, the charity will pick a theme most likely to generate the most funds. It's not rocket science. Any chance of some info' from the evening?

If the beer is not up to standard (taste, quality, etc) as the same beer in other pubs/bars and this can be proved, it would be reasonable grounds for cancelling the contract.

Why the hell would anyone want to ask this spotty kid questions about SFC? He gets most of his info from this site FFS. Waste of time and another PR stunt by the paper. An experienced sports journalist would be more worthwhile.

This is a role for the club's HR dept. Not sure how feasible it is to attend every ex players funeral or to determine which player gets a visit or card? Agreed, it would be great to involve the club and family in some way at such a sad time.

I guess an occasional brief on life off the pitch could be interesting if not too detailed. Mr Cortese might decide to state how good the catering is.....
