  1. Given what I quoted I think that's pretty obvious. I didn't quote the Spain part. Spain and Uruguay are continents apart, just like you and me.
  2. He was hardly a dud. Kept Clyne out of the team for significant part of season while playing for us. How Arsenal have used him since is why he is looking like a "dud". He fitted our system and would (probably) have developed into a top class full back or midfielder if he had stayed with us (not sure about CB but possibly). Just like so many, badly advised and ****ed off elsewhere when the money came calling instead of taking some time to learn his trade and develop his game.
  3. They have been charged with breaking Agent regulations over the transfer of Calum Chambers from Southampton. Therefore it affects how the agent interacted with Southampton. Thus although there is no suggestion of Saints' wrong-doing, the transfer of our player was in some way done in breach of regulations. I would hazard a guess that the charge would have come about because of a complaint made by us.
  4. Sounds like he is Ramirez Mk2 based on this.
  5. (At least) 2 assists from Steven Davis as well. Will be good to see JRod in the stripes as well.
  6. I prefer it if he continues as Executive Director personally, not sure Song would fit into the Board Room, unless he is seen as a long term replacement for Ralph.
  7. If we could get 4m for him with one year left on his contract that would seem like a decent deal and given we have had him for 3 years (including on loan) we could effectively write off 9m, so 4m would even seem like a small profit :-) Still think he is better than Djuricic or Elia and would probably do well for us in Europa, but it seems like those who really count see his future elsewhere.
  8. As long as he is better than the last Pole with the name Grzegorz. It wouldn't be difficult. Our track record with Polish players is not that great if we're honest, though one or two flattered to deceive initially.
  9. Well next season it could be that other than Jose and JRod no one else much would even remember him (forgot Victor)
  10. Westminster Chimes I assume. Same tune, just about every clock chimes the same thing.
  11. I think it would be further enhanced by a strip of black just above the "legs". I don't know why just seems as though it would be an improvement.

    Jim Steele

Agree with you Sue. It was also "Big Jim Steele is after you", IIRC. Top bloke, shame he's not at the Black Bear in Moreton any more. Don't rememer anything particularly bad during the Anderlecht game, but really don't remember much about it at all other than the rain.
  13. Saints related?
  14. Very unlikely that they will take the 2018 away from Russia. Qatar however is a different matter. What is strange is that he went through with the election last week, he must have known then what he does now, and could have saved all of that farce. Total and utter ******.
  15. Crackers, the lot of you. Taxi!!!
  16. Though to be fair to him, he did play in 4 out of the 5 rounds leading up to the Final (which by definition were all wins). So he did contribute to the team's FA Cup success this season - 3 starts, 1 sub, 1 assist, 295 minutes. There have been plenty of players who have received FA Cup winners medals for a lot less (and there are plenty who failed to get one for a lot more in the good old days)

    Toby

No ****, Sherlock. Well at least we know he is not planning on retiring.
  18. You'd have to share it with me if there was. the Mark Lawrensons of the SaintsWeb Prediction League
  19. Is he Welsh?
  20. 5 of the top 6 are either current or past Saints managers or players. Only Mourinho spoils a clean sweep.
  21. They will probably already be out anyway when we join the competition.
  22. Usually C5 or something obscure. But could be BT.
  23. Stats are rubbish anyway, they forgot 69-70 (Rosenborg, Guimaraes and Newcastle (3rd round) and we beat Guimaraes 5-1. Also anyone who thinks Steve Williams was Welsh needs their head reading. (Maybe the Fairs Cup was not UEFA)
  24. They beat Liverpool, even bigger dog****
