Well clearly they did, and it coincided with SRL coming on the pitch. Gave them a lift, didn't last long but had exactly the desired effect.

Rubbish. He wasn't the best player on the field but to say he was **** all game is just completely and utterly wrong. His main problem is that he is knocked off the ball too easily, but he was actually very good at getting the ball today and working the corners and free kcicks well. He needs to be more confident in taking on a shot. Pelle was about as useful today as Gerrard, two of the most anonymous performances seen.

Not just on US TV. He was short on the tackle, Morgan would normally have taken that one on his stride or at least given away a foul. But it should have been a free kick for the wrestling of Tadic, and then Clyne wwas caught too far upfield.

Problem with the OP is that he is just comparing players out with players in. I too think that Lambert going was no great problem, Pelle is a good prospect, and replacing Lallana with Tadic is probably not a downgrade. Lovren was never as good as some people thougt and was helped out so many times by Fonte getting him out of jail. Shaw willbecome a great player, but like for like Bertrand is currently as good if not better. I have a big problem that we let Chambers go, big mistake and unneccesary, and sorry to say but I don't think Forseter is currently better than Boruc (England's No 3 better than Poland's No 1, no way Jose) but he may be in a year or two. No, the two big problems that are not covered are (a) the loss of the togetherness and team spirit, and (b) more importantly we have failed completely to address the issue of a very poor squad in terms of depth. Brendan Rodgers was quoted yesterday that we were heading for the CL, we clearly had a team (11 or 12) that were capable of beating anyone in the PL on their day. But we don't have a squad with enough depth to cover injuries and suspensions and that is what ultimately prevents us ever breaking into the top 6. Well we ended last season with a very small squad and we are now in the same situation but this time at the start of the season, we have not strengthened the squad. We appear to have gone backwards in the goalkeeping department if Boruc has been alienated, stood still in our weak area at CB, if Jos is still "on the roster" we know we are in trouble, and gone seriously backwards in the LB position. Anyway we'll see how we get on today and in the next few weeks, but to say we have done great this summer really is stretching it a bit, rose tinted glasses and all that.

It looks like they have tied his hands behind his back so that he cannot post anything on Twitter.

Looks like a pretty even split to me. http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/showthread.php?t=144508&page=5 This poster seems to think that Artur shades it: "Boruc was on a different level compared to forster, Forster is overrated as ****, he has a lot of weaknesses in his game but is a great shot stopper so it makes him look good all the time. There was a point where I honestly though Boruc was in the top 10 keepers in the world while he was playing with us, Forster is no where near that." I think FF will become as good if not better than Boruc, but I really don't think he is right now and I think Koeman may regret not handling this better by easing FF in gradually rather than alienating Boruc from the get go.

Only people who know feck all about football would have described him thus. Was clearly a great talent, really can't understand how we let him go. Big mistake, because I really don't believe that he would have had a release clause in his contract.

This is what I don't get. How has anyone come to the conclusion that Forster is better than Boruc? I think Forster is OK, and is still young so is great for the future, but whenever I have seen him play he has not looked as good as Artur in any way shape or form (I'll admit I did not see the game against Barca). I thought that Boruc would start this season (especially against Liverhampton given that Forster has not played a game with our defence and only had a week to get to know them). Accepted that Forster would gradually take over as Boruc is looking to go back to Legia next season. Now if Boruc is not going to fight for the GK jersey that puts us in a worse position than last season, a slightly poorer first choice and the same poor backup (with Kelvin another year older to boot). Hope FF proves me wrong, but not convinced.

Ron will not play all three of Cork, Wanyama and Schneiderlin. That would be like having 7 defenders, no-one to link to the attacking players. More likely to be Wanyama, Davies and one of Ward-Prowse, Ramirez or Tadir.

James will be in trouble with the Premier League copyright police

His head is at Bayern Munich. He will never be somebody, just an arsehole.

If the Three Bishops or the Crown in Shorwell do not have Sky Sports, and I don't think they do, closest is probably the Waverley in Carisbrooke, bit closer than the Hogs Head.
-
Don't know what have they said since that bit was written nearly 4 weeks ago. Pelle is clearly Lambert's replacement.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
VectisSaint replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
I think all the strike thing was a myth anyway, even last week it was reported that he was back training with his team mates (on the BBC). I assumed that meant Southampton team mates. Apart from friday when he was given the day off. It was a bit difficult to tell in the video but was he wearing a Saints kit or Spuds? There was one guy who looked to be wearing a fulham kit who looked to have an inflated ego -
All these Exodus lists continually fail to mention the departure of Guly. We are still down one net on what was a very small squad.

have we finished yet? or is there more to look forward to?
VectisSaint replied to cobbysouth's topic in The Saints
We still really need a CB, all we have done is replace Lovren, we needed a new CB before he left, otherwise we are left relying on Jos as second backup, and Florin is already injured/not fit. Would be good if Vlaar was still a possibility. Also not really sure who covers as RB with Chambers gone. -
but Channon gets the rebound.

... or at Right Back.

Well apart from the little matter of 10m squids. I suspect Boruc is looking for a move to Legia at the end of the season, suspect he will stay with us till then.
-
Did you? Interesting that you don't think we could have said no about Chambers but that you think we could about Schneiderlin. Double standards. It does seem strange that we could not have said no to Chambers unless there was a release clause in his contract. How many 18 year olds who have played approx 20 games since being promoted to the first team from the Academy have a release clause in their contract I wonder. Very few, if any I would speculate.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
VectisSaint replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Did it? How do you know, were you there? Clearly something Ralph said was either completely new to Morgan or was completely at odds with what had been discussed if such a discussion took place. Why anyone is so naive as tho think Morgan has just thrown a hissy for no reason at all is beyond me, when it is quite clear that our Chairman said things in public that no professional chairman would have said unless pre-agreed with the player. In the end it may not have made any difference to the result, but there is a way of doing things and Ralph clearly does not know how to go about this type of business. The apologists for the current board have no other view than that it is all the fault of the player. I don't condone what Morgan has done for a moment but it is almost certainly an effect and not the cause. Sadly there is probably no other way out now, and we will not see Morgan play in a Saints shirt again, whether he stays until January or goes before the end of August.
