  1. Forecast to Gillingham
  2. I'm sure he'll appreciate the kisses at the end. Probably the only bit he would read.
  3. No, not exactly. Obernai (Morgan's home town/city, not Strasbourg which was only his first club) was annexed by Germany in 1871 with the rest of Alsace then was returned to France after World War I in 1918. Prior to that it had been part of France since 1679 after it was ceded to them by the Swedes. So if Morgan's grandparents were born before 1918 (maybe unlikely) that would qualify Morgan for Germany as well as France. I don't think he would qualify for Sweden or for the Holy Roman Empire team though.
  4. I suppose to be fair he was born in Portugal but elected to play for Cape Verde. I see he currently plays for the Skates B team, didn't know that.
  5. Except that he wasn't Portuguese.
  6. Depending on how old he is his Grandparents could have been German.
  7. Certainly do, that was some night. So disappointing to go out to Newcastle on away goals in the next round without even losing a game.
  8. Oh dear. "He chipped in with five goals, not a bad rate for a central midfielder". Suggests you don't really understand his role. I bet you used to say about Matty Oakley that he didn't score enough goals either. Do you think Jack Cork scores enough goals? How anyone can compare Spiderman with Anders Svensson is beyond me. But there everyone is entitled to an opinion.
  9. I truly hope it is many, many years before we need to have such a debate about these two, or for that matter about Mick Channon who would be equally deserving. Notwithstanding Manure's tasteless tribute to SAF, normal etiquette/protocol for these things is for them to be erected when said person has passed on.
  10. Strange then that a Retained List has been published by many teams in the last 2 or 3 weeks, just try Googling Retained List and you will see that it is certainly not a "thing of the past". Sofar Sunderland are the only PL team to publish, although Cardiff & Hull have done son. I believe it is a required document for all English professional football clubs to let other clubs know who is and who is not available for transfer. Just because a player has an on-going contract doesn't mean he cannot be released (i.e. not put on th retained list), just means the club may have to pay up his remaining contract. I would imagine if Deano still has a year or more on his contract that he will be retained, but other clubs will be made aware that he is available for transfer, if not we will loan him out, can't really see him being used next season. Lee has too long to just be released, will possibly be subject of transfer or further loan, but would not surprise me if MP does not want an opportunity to run the rule over him again now that he has managed to play a few games following his recovery from injury. He should at least be ready for a good pre-season this year assuming he doesn't have any holiday mishaps again. Still if St Garrett says he is crap, I guess that MP will take that on board and pack him off in a taxi to Heathrow.
  11. McGrath, no question, brilliant. If headed a ball nowadays it would puncture. Surprised thread has got as far without mDennis Wise, pansy.ention of Brian O'Neil. He was a thug, but fecking superb.
  12. This is terrible news, can't believe Big Ron has gone The Greatest Centre Forward the World Has Ever Seen I'm welling up here having just found out. Tragedy is that the Club never did do what it should have done and properly honoured one of the all time greats, now we never can. I truly hoped that the Club would get him over for one last visit so that all the nippers of today might get to see him one more time. Another hero gone. Not many left. OK, stopping now before I get too soppy. Thanks for all the memories Ron.
  13. Too late, we plan to have all our business complete before 1st July apparently, Toure will not sign for Liverpool until then.
  14. Go to their web site where you will be invited to "support the project". I think that confirms it.
  15. He was also at Repton with Jeremy Clarkson, not sure how this helps. Newey does not have much say in the purse strings of Red Bull, only in the design of the cars. maybe it won't be Red Bull, maybe we will be Toro Rosso instead given that NC is Italian.
  16. Hopefully as a striker he would have scored more goals than a midfielder. Would he have scored more than Lambert or J-Rod? He would certainly have scored more than Mayuka and Guly, in fact he did. In fact he equalled the total of three of our strikers combined, with the grand total of 1 (Lee, Guly and Mayuka). Comparing Billy with Gaston suggests you don't actually know much about Saints players these days.
  17. ImaSkateGetmeoutofhere
  18. You're about 3.3 mill out with your exchange rate calc there
  19. Suspect it means he was given 3 points in both November and December without a court appearance being needed, i.e. caught by a speed camera. Only the October offence was sufficiently stupidly over the speed limit to warrant a court appearance.
  20. Did you notice the link at the foot of the page: "Saints striker banned from driving" http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/10436858.Saints_striker_banned_from_driving/?ref=ar Chung banned after 3rd speeding offence which happened last October 23rd. Apparently he is a million pound a year player, earning £936000 a year. So he isn't a million a year player then. Still I don't recall anyone mentioning this back in October or earlier. Naughty boy. Is he back inSouthampton? 4 month contract with FC Tokyo apparently. I guess it will be taxi for Chung now.
  21. Fair enough with the Rooney stats, I didn't have access to the details of sub appearances, but he still played a lot of football in his first 2 seasons. I stand by my assertion though that we have not over played Shaw, or at least that this is not a reason for his injuries/illnesses. He probably played less games by being in the first team than he would otherwise. AS I mentioned, but you didn't pick up, it may be over-training that is the issue, the fitness levels/training regime that NA and even more MP have instilled is more likely to be a negative factor for a young lad who is clearly still maturing physically.
  22. Rooney 2002-3 when he was 17, 37 first team appearances for Everton, following season 40, not much rest there.
  23. Sorry, I don't buy this overplaying argument. Shaw has played 28 games total this season, including 4 sub appearances. That is not overplaying. Bale played 40 times in the equivalent season, i.e. when he was 17. He may of course have been over-trained, but over-played is nonsense. If he had not been playing in the reserve team he would probably have played a lot more games than this. His problem is not just with injuries, some of his absences have been illness rather than injury. Hopefully his health will improve in the next few years as he matures. Perhaps he would also not be sick so often if he avoided Nandos
  24. Nice one. Seems like some people don't understand the concept of harmless fun.
