How many international teams have had Saints players?
VectisSaint replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
He only played for us once!!! To answer the question, no, 4 years after he played for Russia. -
Lawrie Mac didn't seem very ostracised to me when he was outside SMS before the Stoke game signing autographs and posing for pics (even one with me) for over half an hour. It was great to see a lot of kids who probably did not even know who he was talking to him, and it was great that he had so much time for everyone, hope his missus was not too upset. Hampshire cricket bloke can go do one in my opinion, irrelevant to Saints.

I just hope we avoid "Jason eau de toilette" -
Ramirez, his first season, how good has he been?

This maybe the key, Uruguay sub him on rather than off, perhaps he would be even better if we brought him on at half time. -
Are Fulham the new QPR? Doing all their business in June, a great model to follow from last summer, 1 in 3 of players announced/signed before end June in the PL. They actually have not signed anyone, since the summer transfer window does not open until 1st July. Only announcements can be made before then unless players were unattached free agents when the previous window closed.

Nothing wrong with 50+ either...

Could you post a picture so that we can compare?

I guess Royovic Hodgsonovic was managing Yugoslavia at the time and did not know where Southamptonovic was and so didn't pick one of the greatest ever right backs for the national team. Incredible he only got 1 cap. -
Saints buck trend as English U-21s playing time falls to new low

Thank God for that, we are not 2nd. Would have been embarrassing to be runners-up in this table as well. -

So you think that almost 100% of players in Spain are not only Spanish but also under 21. Amazing. Carles Puyol looks a bit older to me, and Ronaldo is Portuguese, Messi Argentinian and there are a fair few Brazilians (players that is). perhaps you have misunderstood somewhat. -
Being offered a deal is not the same as signing, so don't think he has signed yet. Might happen now that he is officially released. A day to savour. He is probably just waiting to see if he gets a call from Mourinho before agreeing a contract with the Gills.

Welcome to Jimmy, the ****heroe Kid. Should keep Alpine happy getting our business done early. God sake, C L I T H E R O E

Did he? I think he was offered a contract at Gillingham. He won't have signed yet. Could be wrong.

What does this mean? Our numbers last season seemed perfectly logical to a large degree, with the exceptions of Lallana and Puncheon who chose to keep the numbers they had. The only other slight oddity was giving Yoshi the number 3 but better he had it than Fox.

When & who will be our 1st signing ?

Andy Carroll pulls out of squad.. Lambert in?

I'm sure he'll appreciate the kisses at the end. Probably the only bit he would read. -
No, not exactly. Obernai (Morgan's home town/city, not Strasbourg which was only his first club) was annexed by Germany in 1871 with the rest of Alsace then was returned to France after World War I in 1918. Prior to that it had been part of France since 1679 after it was ceded to them by the Swedes. So if Morgan's grandparents were born before 1918 (maybe unlikely) that would qualify Morgan for Germany as well as France. I don't think he would qualify for Sweden or for the Holy Roman Empire team though.

I suppose to be fair he was born in Portugal but elected to play for Cape Verde. I see he currently plays for the Skates B team, didn't know that.
-
Except that he wasn't Portuguese.
-
Certainly do, that was some night. So disappointing to go out to Newcastle on away goals in the next round without even losing a game.
-
Oh dear. "He chipped in with five goals, not a bad rate for a central midfielder". Suggests you don't really understand his role. I bet you used to say about Matty Oakley that he didn't score enough goals either. Do you think Jack Cork scores enough goals? How anyone can compare Spiderman with Anders Svensson is beyond me. But there everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I truly hope it is many, many years before we need to have such a debate about these two, or for that matter about Mick Channon who would be equally deserving. Notwithstanding Manure's tasteless tribute to SAF, normal etiquette/protocol for these things is for them to be erected when said person has passed on.

Strange then that a Retained List has been published by many teams in the last 2 or 3 weeks, just try Googling Retained List and you will see that it is certainly not a "thing of the past". Sofar Sunderland are the only PL team to publish, although Cardiff & Hull have done son. I believe it is a required document for all English professional football clubs to let other clubs know who is and who is not available for transfer. Just because a player has an on-going contract doesn't mean he cannot be released (i.e. not put on th retained list), just means the club may have to pay up his remaining contract. I would imagine if Deano still has a year or more on his contract that he will be retained, but other clubs will be made aware that he is available for transfer, if not we will loan him out, can't really see him being used next season. Lee has too long to just be released, will possibly be subject of transfer or further loan, but would not surprise me if MP does not want an opportunity to run the rule over him again now that he has managed to play a few games following his recovery from injury. He should at least be ready for a good pre-season this year assuming he doesn't have any holiday mishaps again. Still if St Garrett says he is crap, I guess that MP will take that on board and pack him off in a taxi to Heathrow.

McGrath, no question, brilliant. If headed a ball nowadays it would puncture. Surprised thread has got as far without mDennis Wise, pansy.ention of Brian O'Neil. He was a thug, but fecking superb.
