  1. It would also be an all-time record score in the Football League/Premier League (currently stands at 12) and beat the current away record by 4. I'm just checking the odds to see what I will get to soften the blow.
  2. Thats right, Michael Owen is going to come back and haunt us by scoring 13 times on his farewell appearance. Another point from today is that Stoke are now safe, hopefully that means they will be on the beach next Sunday.
  3. Thats not what I heard from Mrs Goggins. I'll say no more.
  4. or to McLaren for the way they make their pushchairs...
  5. Excellent, always good to be inclusive, I'm sure our hearing-impaired fans will appreciate this.
  6. Thanks to everyone for letting me know, don't usually have a problem, just suddenly realised last night that I had not see tickets arrive. Phoned the TO this morning, confirmed they had been sent, so they will issue me new tix on the day of the match. If anyone sees Postman Pat rocking up to try to get into the match then we'll know where the tickets went :-)
  7. Just occurred tonight that no tickets in the post yet for Stoke. Usually have them a couple of weeks before the game. Seems so long ago that I bought them now.
  8. Plenty of people used to alternate between watching Saints one weekend and Pompey the next. There was friendly rivalry in the 1960s, no animosity at all, although my old man was a Pompey man and took me to first Saints game on the understanding he would never do it again. Ironic really that he was Pompey, given his grandmother was born in Bullar Street, something he never knew, and that Mary Bates was his cousin (again something he never knew). When I started going to the Dell the rivalry was with Spurs, and that has always stuck with me.
  9. Trouble is we would be looking for a new manager now to defend our Champions League crown.
  10. Don't worry, Owen will be injured. They will have sub-titles for Ferdinand.
  11. I don't think they will, but it would not be a surprise. They beat Arsenal away last season during their run-in when they won 5 of their last 6 (2-1 on April 16th). It should not be dismissed out of hand as impossible.
  12. Please add some links to these Spanish, French and German papers, I'm sure like English papers they are all online. For sure they will all be direct quotes as well. I don't speak 'ampshire 'oggish (not being from 'ampshire), and could do a reasonable translation of the French and Spanish, and with help from work colleagues could tackle the German as well. Pity the reports are not in Latin then I would really be happy.
  13. Sadly singing not being one of them
  14. It would require a goal difference swing of more than 12 goals even if Villa lost both games by 1 goal only. Ok we've had some bad games this season but in general in 2013 our defence has been pretty good. Its still technically possible that we will be deducted 9 points for failing to settle with Franny Benali earlier in the season but in truth its unlikely.
  15. Macca was replaced by Bozo the Clown? Well that would go a long way to explaining his singing at the Lympics ceremony.
  16. You have an overly simplistic view that "defending yourself" occurs in court. This would all have been settled in solicitors' offices. Saints solicitors would have defended their position rigourously (or even vigorously which is the usual expression). Still I guess it does not suit your little anti SFC agenda to understand how things work in reality, instead just keep on banging on (trolling) about something you have little or no understanding of. Probably all down to the Cult of Cortese members. Really glad that this little matter has been sorted to everyone's satisfaction. No-one knows the details and 99% don't actually care. Only the trolls will continue to fuel this thread without any recourse to factual information.
  17. Shows how much you know. It wasn't our nickname for him it came from Grimsby after he conceded 4 in his debut for them in what the Crewe Chronicle described as "one of the most shockingly inept displays the Football League has ever seen". Fortunately he never had the opportunity to concede any goals for us in a competitive first team match. Sorry to disappoint you, if you thought someone on this Mongboard may have tried their hand at a witicism without your consent.
  18. Correct, thats what I mean, did de Ridder take the last place? I suspect there is still one left, but lost track after we signed the invisible forren man.
  19. This. That said Nat Clyne is in the top 10 of successful tackles made this season, and Spiderman is near the top of the interceptions table. A lot of things can be aimed at Saints in terms of criticism, but to say that we are poor at tackles or interceptions just shows that some people on here have no idea what they are talking about.

You should not judge others by your own standards.

He was being called man of the match by several commentators and pundits who as far as I know do not post on here before he went off. Seems to be common theme apart from you. Even Glasgow has given some qualified praise, well not really but then Glasgow has a bit of a thing about Guly. Don't mind people having a go when he plays badly, but those who claim he is awful when he is our best player on the pitch need to take a long, hard look at themselves and ask if they actually know what they are talking about. There are many, many Brazilians by the way who are hopeless at football, not all are superstars.
  22. There is nothing gradual about it. The odds change after each game or set of games. The odds will change tonight and also tomorrow night depending on the results of the games that affect us. 7 days ago the odds were 95-1, that was before the final whistle of the Villa v Sunderland match (but after Villa scored their 5th). As long as we are not odds-on it is OK, and that is unlikely to happen until a week next Sunday.
  23. This. Add the fact that Swansea will be without Michu as well. Most likely outcome of this match is a win for Wigan in my opinion.

Scored more recently than Jack Cork, but don't hear you moaning about that, and that's despite fact Corky has played most games this season, and every game last season.
