As a matter of interest why do you consider it odd for an Italian to wear a poppy? As far as I know the Italians were allied to the "triple entente" during WW1, so were effectively on our side. I don't really know what level Easteigh are at (Southern League?) but I'm surprised that a transfer is allowed at the moment.

Good to see him getting amongst the goals (even if against FGR Reserves). It will do his confidence good. There used to be a rule that no team could loan more than 2 players from another team. Unless that rule has changed I would treat the story in the Sun with the contempt it deserves. With Poke and Thomson already with the Gulls I don't see how Matt could go there as well. As far as I know no-one is cup-tied, I don't think any of our squad has played in the Qualifying rounds this season for any other team. Some of our loanees may not be allowed to play by their parent clubs, but that has nothing to do with being cup-tied per se. It may be of course that they want to avoid them being cup-tied in future rounds.
