Ah, just seen the interview. That's nice of him. Always liked Gaston, shame it didn't really work out for him here but nice to know he still speaks highly of us.

For taking so long to sign himself that this guy's move seems like a short while? In all seriousness, why do we have to thank him. Playing him in the Final is a serious risk...But then so is not playing him. I guess we're just going to have to trust Claude on this one. Would he be the first player to make his debut for a club in a Cup Final?

Who here wouldn't go to a match because it's Valentine's Day
Bad Wolf replied to The Cat's topic in The Saints
My ***** ex banned me from listening to the away game at West Ham because it was Valentine's day. The 1-1 when Jos scored and I think there was a red card too. On a lighter note, does anyone remember that kid a few years ago that asked the girl on his row out and the club provided free bovril? There was a big social media national campaign with all different clubs wishing him luck. Did they get together? -
Has Skacel signed yet?

I'd be amazed if Boufal isn't our highest earner with VVD in second and then followed by Gabbiadini.
-
He was awful but for once, he was awful in our favour. The referee gave us absolutely everything today and if I was a Sunderland fan, I'd be livid...But I'm not, so I'm delighted Nice to be on the right end of one of those refs for a change.

Just out of interest. If we won the cup, what's the minimum league finish you'd have taken before the season? 11th for me. I'd have said 11th place and a Cup win equals a good season. Anything higher is a bonus. Maybe my glass is half empty though.

Sunderland were woeful. They were genuinely better when we beat them 8-0 two years ago. Not even exaggerating.
-
Ever: Rickie Lambert Now: Maya Yoshida

We'll need to score at least two to win because Defoe will score because of course he will, he always does us. If we don't win this, we are in serious trouble.
-
I'll be honest, this thread from me was a slight overreaction but only slight. Last night I was more angry than I have been (Saints wise) since the pre Leibherr days. However I stand by 90% of it.

Davis is literally the most overrated player in our history. Everyone bangs on about how "underrated" he is, which doesn't even make any sense when you think about it. But he's dreadful. Would probably be a good player for a bottom 5 team but not us. This hasn't been brought on by the own goal, that wasn't his fault tbf but he constantly gives the ball away. Offers nothing going forward and nothing going back but once every 5 games he puts in an "okay" performance...At best "Quite good". I like him as a person but effort only takes you so far. Forster is the worst keeper in the PL. Can't save anything lower than his shoulder and every now and again a shot just happens to get fired at him which goes against his face or something, from close up, meaning it's a "Good save". He can't catch a cold, has he EVER come out and stopped a one on one?! Dreadful, dreadful keeper. Something's got to give here. I don't know if I'm anti Puel or anti Reed or both or neither I'm just so ****ing angry. Something has to change.
-
This is a ****ing joke. Forster is the worst keeper in the PL.
-
Absolute joke. If we don't sign a CB and a striker tonight and/or let J-Rod go then I will quite happily punch Reed in his Grahem from Jeremy Kyle show look alike face. How Forster keeps making the England squad is beyond me, he's awful. Cedric is cack. Steven "Underrated" Davis constantly plays like crap then every now and again chases a few balls into our box down and becomes "Oh he's so hard working, isn't he underrated." How he can be underrated when everyone constantly bangs on about how underrated he is doesn't even make sense. Stephens will be very good in about a year but he's not ready to rely on just yet. Bertrand was awful tonight but he's usually good so I'll let him off. Long and Redmond are both absolutely garbage. Classie never has been and never will be good enough. The one good thing to take note of...Boufal was class.

Swansea away build up - Tuesday 31st Jan KO 7:45pm
Bad Wolf replied to Wimborne_saint's topic in The Saints
feed4u.net has been great for me the last few games. I agree what another poster has said about a fast start and their fans might get on their back but didn't Liverpool score first against them? I think it might be the same for us, I think if Swansea dominate the ball, our fans might turn on us. 3 points tonight and Saturday night is forgiven and forgotten. Anyone know what sort of odds Swansea are? Might have been worth a decent insurance bet if I'd thought about it sooner. COYR! -
Lol what a **** team that is. Gardos marking Walcott, that's going to be fun ffs.
-
I'd have liked Snodgrass. Could have been just that little bit of creative spark from midfield that we lack.
-
No. This isn't 1976. This is 2017. And our boys have done us proud wearing this season's kits not 1976. I'd find it incredibly disrespectful to prioritise Saints' past over Saints' present which is essentially what that would be doing.
-
United in the final! I'm glad, pressure is all on them. If we'd played Hull in the Final, we'd have been favourites and I really wouldn't have been comfortable. Bring them on!
-
So it's a stake rather than a takeover? That can only be a good thing.
-
YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! WE'RE OFF TO WEMBLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T ****ING BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

He looked great last year too but didn't get a look in. -

Brilliant news!!! Was getting a bit wary about his contract situation. Delighted with this. -
Well it wasn't a one off because we've done it several times this season. We've just gone through a bad run of form. I think Claude is doing a good job all things considered.
-
How did he look when he came on? I've only ever seen him play in dribs and drabs had to work through the game today. Did he look capable?
