We should have a European Cup for all the second division teams in Europe. Go to some proper sh*tholes. Desna Chernihiv, Stranraer and er Helmond Sport. Woah, I know things don't look good, but we haven't been relegated to League 2 just yet.

The only good thing about Jodie Marsh is that her surname reminds me of this delightful young lady... Jodie on the other hand is a munter.

Two Pompey supporters are walking down the street when they see a sign in a sex shop window, "For sale, 2 spare Pompey Season Tickets - £200" Thinking this is a bargain, the first one says, "you go in and buy the STs, I'll stand here and keep a lookout for anyone who might know us." The second Pompey support goes in and comes out 10 minutes later with a bag full of hand-cuffs, gimp masks and strap-ons. The first one says, "WTF, I told you to go buy the STs and you come out with all this stuff?!" The second guy says, "Look, I kept trying, but in the end I was just too embarassed to ask."

This corresponding fixture last season was the angriest I have ever been at a Saints match. Everything that was wrong about Burley's tenure compressed into one match. Correct me if I am wrong, but we've been beatten soundly in the last 5 meetings. 0-3 and 3-2 last season (The second score-line flattered us) 3-0 and 1-3 in the first season in CCC 5-2 in CC in the relegation season. Yet for some reason I can't help thinking this will be a draw. 1-1 I'm going for.

4 different World Champions in 5 years. Makes a great change from the "anyone but Michael" days. I will be rooting for Hamilton (attitude aside he is British after all) and Kubica, who has been very impressive in a distinctly average BMW.

Six wins from the next ten games...
Arizona replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
But the next 10 games aren't ones which we look likely to win. Just because we've played 10 games, doesn't mean he needs to go making predictions about the next 10, especially if they are that unrealistic. At the start of the season Jan said he was aiming for the playoffs, which is great. I admire his ambition. However if he keeps making these far fetched targets, and doesn't reach them, he is going to lose a lot of credibility. People who did believe them, including possibly the players, will start to lose confidence. Lets take a hypothetical situation. We only win 2 of the next 10 games and get a couple of draws. This form continues throughout the season and with 3 games left, we're in the drop zone. If Jan then starts making statements like, "we can still avoid relegation," do you think people are going to take him as seriously after failing to meet his previous targets so badly? -

But why pick those 10 games? They're not exactly the most winnable fixtures are they. If he had said at that earlier in the season, when we had home games against Norwich, Barnsley and Blackpool as well as trips to Donny and Coventry, then it might have been wirth saying. If we do fail to get anywhere near that target, which is quite likely IMO, it is only going to lead to disappointment, both in the fans and the squad and lead to more "stay away" fans. -

There is a line somewhere between setting our target's high and setting them unachieveable. Burley should have been aiming for the automatic spots. Winning 6 out of 10 games, spread over the course of a season would give us 83 points minimum, which would have won the league last season. Bit of an unrealistic target with our youth team me thinks. -
Lol @ Murray Walker. "And this means xxxxxx is going to win his xxxx grand Prix," every time someone crashes out of the lead.

I also can't see beyond 2 wins and 3 or 4 draws from that lot. Our only wins this season have come against 3 very poor teams, who have missed a hatful of chances to score. I really don't fancy our chances against the likes of Wolves, the Blades and Reading. -
The saw fish has to be one of my favourites. Not only does it look cool, but that saw would castrate a few Pompey fans and thus help to reduce further breeding.

Anyone who has appeared on Big Brother, and I'm not going to give them the publicity of naming anyone.

You're just been silly. It's not as if any senior ranking FIA officials have had alledged Nazi fettish's and family member's associated with Hitler is it.

I think Kubica would be the first Ferrari driver I would like since Irvine left the team. Earlier in the naughties it was ABM (anyone but Michael). Barrichello was okay, but you just couldn't support him knowing he had to jump out of Michael's way every time he looked quick. Massa has been very good in the middle of this season, but other than that he has had an average career. Never really stood out even at Sauber. Hamilton is obviously nowhere near the legend of Senna IMO. For me the rain shows up the best drivers and Senna was the best in the rain - bar none. Schumacher was good in his day and Damon Hill drove a couple of blinders at Spa '98 and Suzuka '94. Hamilton is certainly the closest we have to a rain meister in the field. For me the best driver in the paddock is a toss-up between Hamilton and Alonso, with Kubica there or there abouts. When you compare them to how their team-mates have faired, all have been a class above this season.

Would be great if Hamilton and Massa slam into each other in China and Kubica takes the title in Brazil. After the FIA spend so long trying to wrestle it away from Hamilton towards Ferrari, for someone else to knick it would just be hilarious.
-
Wow. Three way fight for the title now. Bet nobody predicted Kubica still being in the hunt with 2 races left.

Agree in principal, although it was fingers Crouch at the time. Call yourself a fan... It was like a second birthday at the time. Having someone pay to take Burley off our hands and knowing the sweeties would have to suffer the same agony I'd been through for the last six months.

I'd forgotten about Kelvin and Fuller, but did we really boo Bennett? I remember a few groans when his name was read out before the Cardiff game last season, but no booing. To be honnest I think when it gets to a stage where a player is booed, they are usually playing so badly they shouldn't be on the pitch anyway. I remember when Wright got booed at home to Barnsley last season, he was playing so badly that even George took him off. Whilst I was at odds for those booing him, I think in those situations the manager needs to realise when a player is having an off day much sooner and take corrective action. Another factor with Kelvin, Wright and Euell was that they all kept much better players out of the side, despite numerous poor performances. Kelvin keeping his place in the playoff season despite some very dodgy games and Bart playing well at the time. Wright and Euell seemingly undropable with Vignal and Skacel on the bench. Whilst I never booed them, it's things like that which p*ss me off most at football matches. Knowing it doesn't have to be that way.
-
I am aware of very little booing towards our players whilst the game is in progress. The only instances I can remember were Jermaine Wright at home to Barnsley last year, and then Wright and Euell at home to Plymouth. I haven't been to any games this season, have I missed any booing? I know it goes on after the match, but IMO that's fair enough after you've just spent 2 hours of you life you'll never get back watching games like Blackpool. Incidentally, I have been out of the UK for several months and I've missed the gossip. Why are we booing Cashley at the moment?

For those who didn't see this joke last time I wrote it: Scotland had to sell their 3 best players in the summer.

My money would have been on Honda if anyone. I hope not though. More cars mean more incidents and more interesting racing. Imagine if every race was like the 2005 USA Grand Prix. Can't see Renault pulling out after what ponty just said. Toyota finally seem to be getting it together and, importantly, they're in a different league to Honda. BMW could well mount a title challenge with Kubica next year, and they aren't mathematically out of this year's championship. I miss some of the old names like Jordan, Arrows, Minardi, Stewart and Prost. Would be great to see Jaguar back in the sport with backing from the Tata group, although that is unlikely.

Nope. Chavy munter. Has the same facial expression of Jade Goody. Like she's constantly thinking about how she's important, intelligent and sexy when she just isn't.

I don't thinkyou can blame Thomas for most of those games. More the fact that in all those defeats we never had the same defence twice and used 18 players in defence last season. At Preston it was only 2-1 after 70 mins, then Wright replaced Ostlund. At Hull we were dreadful and Powell put in the worst performance I have yet seen from a Saints player. Hull were also VERY good that day. Sheff Weds was another crap performance, but I think Davis was as much to blame as anyone else. Thomas is scarcely a RB anyway. The Watford game (away) was before Vignal found form and Makin was a terrible centre half. Watford at home we played Euell and Wright down the left flank and got murdered all afternoon. Barnsley at home we were undone by 2 excellent free kicks and a last minute sucker punch. Against QPR we played Thomas and Wright at fullback, always a bad idea, with two howlers from the latter. Poor finishing also cost us that day. Also don't forget the Palace game, which Thomas didn't play in. Makin at centre half and Alan Bennett's debut.
