First season, yeah. Might get to finish it tonight. Butland cost me 1.7m, Olsson was I think around 2.5m. Play on World Class, may have to move it up though. 8pts clear of Chelsea in March now... Lost 4-2 to Man City in the Capital One Cup Final as well. 2 Balotelli goals in extra time. The f*ckers. They offered me the job there the week before as well!

Have to say i'm loving this one so far. My current team: GK: Jack Butland (71) RB: Nathaniel Clyne (77) LB: Martin Olsson (76) CB: Maya Yoshida (73) CB: Jos Hooiveld (74) RCM: Craig Gardner (75) LCM: Steven Davis (76) CAM: Rickie Lambert (74) RW: Adam Lallana (81) LW: Gaston Ramirez (81) ST: Jay Rodriguez (78) Subs: Davis, Fox, Fonte, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Mayuka, Lee Schneiderlin requested a transfer after the first game, thankfully Villa came in straight away with a £4.5m bid, so I bought Gardner to replace him. Currently in 2nd behind Spurs approaching December.

Cheers Dune. Notice it didn't take you long to crawl back on here, did the nasty boys on the other forums tease you or do you just have literally nothing else to do with your time?

If we are going to be bringing in 1 more free transfer then LB is definitely the priority.

Yeah, f*ck Sweden!

Obviously too late now but we were drinking in The Arkles.

Adkins has spoken about our home form, he knows we have to pick up points at SMS. Fulham are a good team but they have weaknesses too. Will be interesting to see if Gazza keeps his place or if Boruc comes in after a full week of training with the lads. ---------------------GAZZA------------------ FRAZER------MAYA-----JOS------CLYNE ----------------DAVIS-----JWP-------------- PUNCH----------RAMIREZ----LALLANA --------------------LAMBERT---------------- Subs: Boruc, Fox, Fonte, Chaplow, Reeves, Mayuka, Rodriguez. The sooner we get Morgan Schneiderlin back, the better.

Very versatile too, plays anywhere on the left and in the middle of the park. Handy player to have in the squad, AND he's an academy product!

How many of the naysayers were at the game yesterday? I was there, and frankly we had no chance given how well Everton played. Fellaini was immense, Mirallas always finding space and Osman was everywhere. I'm not saying we should write this one off, but I can't see many teams picking up points at Goodison Park this season. Fox in the crowd with the away fans, apparently he's fit but wasn't picked, even for the bench. Shows Adkins isn't afraid to make changes to the team - and I actually thought Reeves did very well at LB when he came on (albeit very late in the game). I think our problem is the link between our defenders - not sure if the "chemistry" is right there. We'll have to wait and see how that's adressed.

Would also take a point, but based on tonight (their game, not ours) we can grab all 3! -------------------GAZZA-------------- FRAZER----MAYA---JOS----CLYNE ---------MORGAN---DAVIS--------- PUNCH-------RAMIREZ-------ADZ -----------------LAMBERT------------ Subs: Boruc, Fox, Fonte, JWP, Chaplow, Mayuka, Rodriguez

Lots of respect for Cov + Walsall fans after our promotions at SMS the last 2 seasons. Nice bunch. Skates, West Ham, Leeds, hate their fans. Absolutely detest Brighton fans. Bunch of moronic c*nts. Bournemouth is just funny.

I knew nothing about the clapping, asked my mate (who also supports Brum) and he said it was for Stan. Didn't know we were f*cking supposed to join in though! Atmosphere was decent in the first half, much better in the second (I think us winning helped a bit!). Met a few Villa lads in the KA after the game and talked to them, they were a good bunch. Complimentary about us. Obviously their "mongs" hang out on the Internet instead of in the pubs after the game like ours.

Either QPR or Leicester for me, he wants a project and a club where he'll have a f*cking huge budget. Can see him ending up at Leicester before the season's out.

Anyone want to swap my 2 tickets in the Lower Bullens for 2 in the Paddock?
-
Bought mine on Friday, Paddock was sold out then! Bloody annoying. Still, got 2x tickets in the Lower Bullens. If anyone wants to swap 2x Paddock for my 2x in Lower Bullens then PM me!

Bart was a good keeper for us, and very loyal. Blackpool aside, he was solid and did his job as back-up for Kelvin when called upon. Boruc looks absolutely quality though, can't believe we've signed him! Would personally loan out Gazza for a few months to a Championship team to get him some experience, with Kelvin as #2 to Boruc.

Never smoked until I was 18, got p!ssed at my mate's birthday and had a few smokes. Didn't do it again until my 19th birthday a few months after I started uni. Only smoked when I was drinking (pretty much every day in my first year!), but it became a regular thing after that. Probably on about 10 a day now, triple that on a footy day. It helps me tbh. Having a fag break at work helps me to relax and get my motivation back up. When I come home from work I can sit outside with my housemates and have a coffee, a cigarette and a chat. And nothing beats a pre-match pint and fag. It may be expensive and unhealthy, but i'm not particularly worried about that now (although i'm sure I will be in the future!). I plan on giving up when I have kids or a serious reason not to smoke anymore. I don't quite get how people can be all sanctimonious over it though. Fair enough, you've never had a cigarette. So what? It doesn't make you a better or worse person whether you smoke or not. People say smoking burdens the NHS, but i'm sure there's plenty of alcoholics or brawlers out there who don't smoke that put much more of a burden on our health system than I do. I'm quite libertarian in the way that I don't care what people do to their own bodies as long as it's not directly harming others.

To be honest I don't know much about our coaching structure. I remember Adkins talking about Crosby's work on set-pieces last season. Basic errors do need to be worked on, but I think we need somebody like Arsenal have in Steve Bould to instill confidence in our defence and share their experience of defending in the top flight. I have no doubt that Crosby is a good coach, but does he have the experience of a Bould, a Neville or a Keown? Who can do that for us?
-
Gordon would be good on a 1 year contract, if he can prove his fitness then sign him longer-term. Very good keeper on his day, just suffered from a lack of confidence due to injuries and lack of games for the last few years.
-
I think Dean Wilkins takes defensive training. Crosby focuses more on set-pieces.
-
We could do with getting someone like GN in to help with our defensive coaching, someone who's as experienced as him at this level and knows what it takes. Any ideas?

Punch played well in the Utd/City games, but in the Wigan/Arsenal games he was f*cking crap - especially on Saturday. Marking was appalling, found space but ran into dead-ends and lost the ball far too easily. He was at fault several times for letting Gibbs peel off and put in crosses as he was caught ball-watching. Play Mayuka, Lee, Lallana, Ramirez, Chaplow, De Ridder or Guly out wide instead. We're not exactly short of options...
