  2. Lib Dems: 61% Labour: 55% Conservative: 52% Greens: 48% BNP: 48% UKIP: 45% I think the relatively high stats for BNP and UKIP were down to me saying that the Iraq war was illegal and that immigrants and asylum seekers should have ID cards. Other than that i'd say it's pretty accurate, as I do agree with a lot of Tory and Labour policies, but none of their politicians make me want to vote for them apart from Brown, who I feel hasn't done such a bad job considering the circumstances in which he was appointed and the situation he was left with (even though he caused it).
  3. I don't think you can attribute the rise of the Lib Dems to their lack of involvement in the expenses scandal, that's just farcical. If anything, it's probably due to the failures of the previous Tory and Labour governments, and how people are disillusioned with these two parties. People who are switching from Labour and Conservative (but who don't want to vote for a 'loony left' party like UKIP or BNP) are voting Lib Dem because they have sensible policies, likeable and trustworthy politicians and a good plan for the future.
  4. S_S has a point, the regens at Saints are crap considering the quality of academy we have IRL and in the game. The status of the academy ought to improve next year as well with the improvements being made by the board. However, there are always some quality regens going on frees. I had an International manager game going as Scotland for a while on FM10 (and FM09 as well), and most of my players had been released at some point during their careers. As Scotland in FM10 I won a European Championship, and in FM09 we won 3 Euro's and 1 World Cup. Speaks volumes!
  5. Did the predictor earlier, put it like this: I think that's a distinct possibility tbh, Charlton have got 3 tricky games coming up, as do Huddersfield, and we're on fire at the moment. It's easy to sit at a computer and type in Saints to win all their remaining games and Huddersfield and Charlton to lose all of theirs, and I don't think that will happen. I can only see Charlton getting 1 point against Oldham or Exeter however, and I don't think that Huddersfield will win more than one of their remaining games, but I doubt they'll lose either of the other two either. If we did win our remaining games (fingers crossed), we'd see something like what i've posted above. I'd be happy with that! That would surely be the ultimate "f*ck you" from Pardew to Charlton!
  6. Great read
  7. So, he was surviving on benefits, had fathered several children with different women, lived on a council estate and didn't work, then he won £9m and that made him upper class? Hell of a theory there Dune.
  8. Well, my chip has another question for you. How would you class the 'lout' (as he was described by some newspapers at the time) who won about £9m on the lottery? He had no job, numerous children and I remember that everyone was rather p!ssed off when he won. Called Michael something I think. He's got a lot of money (or rather had, heard he's spent it all now), so is he upper class now?
  9. Great story, i'm also too young to remember the days when Steve was playing, but I do also try and keep up by watching YouTube videos. And on the subject of Gary Hooper, if Sc*nthorpe go down, then we must try our hardest to sign him. If he was playing in the side that we have at the moment I have no doubts that he'd be challenging Sir Rickie for his goal record.
  10. So, would you class (Sir) Alan Sugar as upper class then? He's earned his wealth from the bottom up rather than being born into it like some people, so do his lower class roots mean he'll always be lower class or as he has a bit of money he's now automatically upper class?
  11. Alan Sugar's worth a lot more than Nick Clegg's dad - so does that make him upper class too?
  12. I think I got confused when you kept referring to his alcoholism and an illness seperately when you were in fact referring to the same thing. Everybody knew though at that time, not just the Lib Dems. Hardly top-secret stuff that Charles Kennedy liked a drink or five.
  13. I've not got any gripes with Pardew except his substitutions, which are sometimes a bit random and ill-timed, but today he got it spot on it seems. Nice to see him being positive and gunning for the 3 points rather than sending Wotton on to hoof the ball out of the stadium...
  14. That's complete bullsh!t Duckhunter. Do you have any substantial evidence to back this up, or were you a big player in the Lib Dems at the time and helped to cover up his illness? Farking ridiculous!
  15. This is an absolutely crucial game for us, one that we have to win. It's really vital that we bridge the gap between us and Huddersfield (or Charlton as it may be soon enough). With Schneiderlin sent off today, we're going to have to rejig things in midfield. Pardew is probably going to end up playing Wotton alongside Hammond, but i'd much prefer to see something like this: ----------Davis------------ Semi--Fonte--S'brn--Harding --Hammond---Puncheon---- Antonio--------------Lallana -----Barnard--Lambert------ Subs: Bart, Perry, James, Wotton, Gillett, Connolly, Waigo We should really start Barnard, as he's great foil for Lambert and has scored some vital goals recently. Preferably i'd start James over Semi at RB as well, because Semi has looked rather suspect recently with some pretty poor performances, but James's fitness has to come into question. We need to go out and attack from the start on Tuesday, because those 3 points could get us a play-off place (if we're lucky!). COYR!

    Charlton

We've got nothing to worry about, i'm always right!
  17. Not just that, but it does play a part. Imagine if we had somebody like Boris Johnson running the country (however much I like the guy, he's a complete buffoon). Every time he came on TV stumbling over his words, spouting a tirade of "golly" and "gosh" every time he forgot something he was going to say, wouldn't you feel embarrassed and wished we had somebody who could talk better? After all, we have no personal contact with our Prime Ministers really, so we go on what we see on TV. These debates can help establish the public demeanour of our candidates, as well as giving people a chance to learn about the policies and tendencies of the main parties. There's nothing wrong with watching it to see how the candidates handle themselves whilst under pressure. Would you rather see Cameron, Clegg and Brown navigating the Total Wipeout course or something?
  18. Teams I hate more than Bournemouth: P*mpey (huge gap) Spuds MK Dons Reading Chelsea Man Utd F*CKING MILLWALL Dirty Leeds Man City Liverpool Huddersfield Ipswich (or whatever team Roy Keane is at) Notts County Northampton Barnsley Sc*nthorpe Tranmere (huge gap) Carshalton Lewes Hayes & Yeading Bournemouth
  19. I decided who I was voting for about 3 years ago when I started to get interested in politics, but I still watched the debate, along with 5 other people in my household (and a dog). If nothing, it's an interesting insight into both the policies of the respective parties and how confident the leaders of said parties are with public speaking. Cameron looked like a fish out of water for most of it, and Brown and Clegg did okay, which has definitely contributed to the major opinion shift in the YouGov we saw after the debate (Con 33, Lab 28, Lib 30). I hope the next two debates bring in more viewers, because even if people have decided they're not voting, they should still at least see who could be running the country and what they stand for. I've not got that much faith in the general public though...
  20. +1 The notoriously Conservative Daily Mail are trying anything to get a win, which is fair enough, but they could at least make something up rather than tell us that his father was a banker.... DUM DUM DURRRRRRR!
  21. Point taken, but surely a debate between the 3 people who could be RUNNING THE COUNTRY in a few weeks time is more important than Eastenders? It's about a third of the people who voted last time, there are something like 45m people eligible to vote in this country and to only get 9m of them is pretty poor imo.
