Any other BNP politicians you could see doing better than Clegg then?

Where do you expect Saints to finish this season?
SuperMikey replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
Good find trousers, interesting to see how our expectations have changed now. I voted 16th-18th way back when, but you can't really blame me considering the awful start we had. -
I don't think he lost his cool, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. I doubt there are many people out there who wouldn't get slightly rattled while being interviewed by Paxman. As a BNP voter yourself, do you think that Nick Griffin should go and be interviewed so he can try and explain his policies?
-
What a load of bullsh!t. If you don't want to be made to look like a blithering idiot by Paxman, the only way that you can get around his tricky interviewing style is by being bold and standing up for yourself. If Clegg hadn't answered strongly and argued with Paxman, you'd be gloating about how he folded like a house of cards. I'd love to see Nick Griffin get interviewed by Paxman, that would make my century.

Watching it on iPlayer now, i'm actually very impressed by Clegg. I expected him to get quite flustered by Paxman who is notoriously difficult, but he did very well. He put his points across strongly and answered some difficult questions on his policies well by reinforcing his answers with statistics and clear, logical thought. Hopefully people will watch this and see that the Lib Dems are more than 'the third party'. Can't wait to see Brown and Cameron being grilled by Paxo, I really doubt that they will hold up to him as much as Clegg did.

Fellow May 15th Birthday boys (and girls)
SuperMikey replied to Marsdinho's topic in The Muppet Show
My birthday's on December 1st, so I get an advent calendar on my birthday. Beat that suckas. -
Something's always seemed a little wrong to me about certain sectors of the media being biased towards certain political parties. I don't buy newspapers very often, but when I do I tend to buy papers such as The Times, The Independent and The Guardian because they have the best quality of journalism and the least bias. Imo you're more likely to get the real version of a story in the above 3 papers than you are in broadsheets-for-people-with-short-arms such as The Daily Mail and The Express.

My post got deleted My mate works at a butchers, and he also uses vinegar to get the blood off his clothes and hands, so it ought to work on your sofa. HTH

Is it that one with Dolly Parton in it?

Bit hard not to be flustered by Paxman though! I think one of the very few people to manage it was that bloke on University Challenge

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
SuperMikey replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
YES! Suggested him last year and in the summer. He's the star of the Aberdeen team, pushing for a Scotland call-up and regularly scores blinding free kicks. Thing is, we're pretty well catered for in the LB department with Harding and Mills, so there's probably other players we could chase instead. -
As of now, Google is banned Had a bit too much faith in you all obviously. Is it from some rom-com Hamster?

Might as well try though... Using BBC Seat Predictor (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/8609989.stm) My Personal Predictions: Conservative 35%, Labour 30%, Lib Dems 23%, Other 12% CON - 266 seats LAB - 290 seats LIB - 65 seats OTH - 29 seats Result: Hung Parliament My Realistic Predictions: Conservative 38%, Labour 32%, Lib Dems 20%, Other 10% CON - 290 seats LAB - 280 seats LIB - 51 seats OTH - 29 seats Result: Hung Parliament Difficult to see how either party could win it outright at this point in time tbh.

Stu likes it because it reminds him of blokes.

Yes indeedy. Your turn

Yes, it's another 'game' thread. Someone posts a quote from a TV show, film etc. and we have to guess where it's from. I'll start. "Normally, both your asses would be dead as f*cking fried chicken, but you happen to pull this sh!t while I'm in a transitional period so I don't wanna kill you, I wanna help you. But I can't give you this case, it don't belong to me. Besides, I've already been through too much sh!t this morning over this case to hand it over to your dumb ass." Hint: It's from a film. This is a relatively easy one to guess.

"3 little birds I think we'd all like to prey upon..." 50 man points to the person who can guess the reference.

Feel free to do that

Wait, I thought I was Dan Kerins?

I might be biased in saying this, but I think the Lib Dems have conducted themselves very well thus far and may well take a large slice of the disillusioned Labour voters. Vince Cable shone in the chancellors debate and Nick Clegg isn't being caught up in the ridiculous slanging match between Brown and Cameron, just throwing in the odd kidney-punch every now and then. I think the polls in a couple of weeks time will make very interesting reading, and unless something drastic happens between now and then which can have an influence on the voters, I can see the Conservatives and Labour's points totals both slipping slightly from where they are at the moment. I'm predicting something like: CONSER - 35% LABOUR - 30% LIBERALS - 23% OTHERS - 12% But it'll probably be closer to: CONSER - 38% LABOUR - 32% LIBERALS - 20% OTHERS - 10% Of course, it all really depends on how these leaders debates go, they could well be a deciding factor in how people vote, and i'm sure many people are waiting until these happen before they decide how they're going to cast their votes.

Looks like the 'guvnor' has been giving them masterclasses...

God, P*mpey literally make me nearly sh!t myself with anger. Their appeal has NO founding basis, it's clearly stated that if you can't file your accounts, you can't apply for the UEFA license and you CAN'T take part in the Europa league or any other european competition. They're only trying to take attention away from their imaginary bidders and their complete shambles of an infrastructure and 'fan base', who couldn't even fill up their allocation at Wembley for an FA CUP SEMI FINAL! Beggars belief... I'm glad they're down to the CCC next season, i'm glad that they'll probably get another points deduction next season because the Football League won't take any sh!t from them with their financial irregularities, i'm glad that they'll probably be relegated again as they sell all their players off and sign sh!t free transfers, and i'm glad that we'll be able to watch them sliding down the football league pyramid and towards oblivion as we climb up it.

It's a thin line between slander and comedy, and it's one that Frankie treads. He tackles taboo subjects that not many other people will talk about, let alone do stand-up comedy on. Personally, I think he's hilarious, and Mock The Week isn't the same without him. As liquidshokk pointed out, it'll be a sad day when comedy is regulated. What next, will our conversations be monitored and censored?
