  1. So, do we know what's the situation with Puncheon? if SdR is not available, Puncheon would be a good option.
  2. To my mind, if we had promotion won with a game to go, we could give game time to Bart, Jaidi, Seabourne and Barnard. If we need to win the game to make sure, then we can't afford these acts of goodwill.
  3. I saw that too, and put it down to (dear) prudence. That game was crying out for SdR to run AT them. Shame he wasn't available.
  4. You were doing okay until you decided to post that video!!! The game last night was like the game against you. We had more possession but didn't create and take the chances, then paid for it! One more chance to get that 3 points to finish the job. To return the compliments, Saints fans admire your setup - chairman, manager and fans. We want to get up with you and shut out Wham, too. Hopefully, we can turn it on against Coventry and all breathe again!
  5. they're better than us first half. C'mon, Nige, wake them up. We don;t have a divine right to win this today. Need to puff our chests out, dig deep, control the controllables etc.
  6. I'd like to suggest Winchester would be the fairest place to house it on the day, and I offer my lounge, on the coffee table, whilst games are in progress. Happy to do a skype interview as part of the build up, and have men in white gloves guarding the trophy until it is whisked off to Reading, or hopefully, Southampton.
  7. Agree with you all. Durham I couldn't stand, but as TDD says in post #3 he is deliberately contrary and provocative just so callers ring in to set him straight. Never called and never will. H&J are still the only decent show ... as far as I know. I stopped actively listening 2 years ago.
  8. Hello chaps. Its all going awfully jolly well, isn't it. Mind you, after the WEEKENDUS HORRIBILIS, it should be our night! Just need the other two teams to stay at parity in their games, and we can all sleep easier in our beds tonight.
  9. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/berlusconi-trial-witness-details-bunga-bunga-party-114800678.html Stripping nuns? He must have got that interest from Saintsweb.
  10. Need to win this one to restore confidence - of players and fans alike! Wham's goalfest means we may need to get 7 points (2 wins and a draw) to be certain. I can't see them dropping points now they are focused and going for it. But hey, listen, control the controllables, play in the here and now. (See Nige, I do listen to you)
  11. better than 17th!!!!
  12. As you have all said, we have been all over them like a rash. Need the ref to award us a penalty for the manhandling of Sharp. He seems to be ignoring it. If we can get the next goal, I think we will go on from there. But if they get it ... game over. Yep, De Ridder on for Chappers, please. Feel for him. Not even a foul, yet yellow carded. Another indiscretion and the ref will have us down to 10 men.
  13. You'll probably find a bar showing the games. If not, get a flight/ferry over to Las Americas, Tenerife - lots of sports bars there. I was in Cyprus for the first day of the season. Found a sports bar and was delighted to see a young lad wearing a Saints shirt there with his Dad. They were from Netley Abbey. Always good to find fellow Saints fans for games when abroad. We outclassed Leeds 3-1, IIRC.
  14. Wow, brilliant, some local knowledge! I usually stay around Golf Del Sur, Los Cris, Las Americas. Been talked into staying up at Playa San Juan this time to meet friends. Don't know the west coast at all. I fly out Wednesday, so if you have the chance to check out this bar tomorrow and post either here or PM me, that would be great. Thanks for this.
  15. I shall be in San Juan, Tenerife this weekend. Hoping there will be a bar showing the game. I'm taking my Saints shirt specially (so hoping no Pompey nutters around!)
  16. http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2009/mar/31/titanic-southampton-exhibition Do we know if this Titanic Museum has or will open?
  17. Listen .... Blackpool were outstanding. They were focused, played with intensity, blew us away. We played as if we were still watching Soccer Saturday until 5.15pm. They have a right to be proud, they annhilated us (yes, Blackpool fans, you can copy/paste this). But we have to put this behind us. Saturday after Saturday, it has been All Saints Day, where Wet Spam and Burn After Reading have dropped points. Today is Reading's day. We now have to turn our hurt into magic next Saturday and blitz Pompey. We are still top, albeit by (almost) 3 points. It's not over til the fat lady sings, and she isn't even on the podium yet. Come on!
  18. I think that's right. As you say, we are not a one-man team, but he is our Queen Bee around which all the workers buzz. Without him, everyone was lost. It was a shambles today, a day to watch from behind the sofa with one hand over your eyes.
  19. Have you seen the preview on BBC page? Think the writer has been on the fizzy pop! [h=2]MATCH PREVIEW[/h] Blackpool's got The Big One: the Championship's standout fixture of the weekend brings the leaders to town to take on the division's great entertainers. These coastal clubs are awash with attacking talent, outscoring the rest of the division as they seek to sweep into the top flight on a tide of euphoria. While the certainty of Southampton returning to the Premier League seems as cast-iron as Blackpool's piers, the hosts are set for another end-of-season white knuckle ride as they aim to get straight back to the top flight. Steady on mate, you're not Stuart Hall.
  20. In other news - Solent are having whatsisname, the Pompey administrator in tomorrow morning to take questions from the public. What questions shall we ask him? How about : why don't you just let it go, mate, as they are never a going concern? hehe Just thinking either they are splitting these across Solent frequencies, or they are having a football morning, looking at both clubs' finances.
  21. I hear Wenger has already signed him, and the image rights, so no baby photos allowed.
  22. If that IS the case, we should appeal the booking (if we can appeal a booking, probably can't).
  23. Haha, I can see all managers adopting Nigel-speak over the next year! Now read the line above and imagine Sir Alex and then Mancini saying it. The accents may change but they will all be using the bus analogy soon.
  24. I couldn't get any in Chapel either. The online order gave me seats in the Itchen, but not at discounted family rate for adult+child.
  25. "Improve the squad" is just a buzzword. He's barely making the bench and rarely gets more than 30 mins game time. It was a fair musing question from the OP.
