  1. That's the way I read his comments too.
  2. 30 decent minutes out of 40 on the pitch isn't bad. If we have the players, we should use them or lose them.
  3. Corky tweeted after the game acknowledging he had a poor game. Yeah, blue line time. Next up : Ipswich on Tuesday.
  4. You're a prophet, mate. My prophecy is that there will be a red card before the end!!! Against who, time will tell.
  5. Me too. I would have brought Sharpey on.
  6. Agree. See comment #100.
  7. Referee is a homer!!! As in favouring the home side, not any other interpretation.
  8. Leeds are playing like a man possessed. If they play like this for the whole game, we'll not keep them out. Surely they can't though???
  9. Oh man, Skygo is hopeless!!! Given up and gone to Whispering Dave on Solent : "what we don't wanna do now ..." And skygo was so behind I seem to have missed a goal. But good news - its for us!
  10. I'd take this scenario as a Saints fan. Pretty sure Reading fans would LOVE this as they would be within striking distance of us, and a game in hand! When do we discover if Pompey are liquidated? Is there a set meeting or decide-by date?
  11. I'd go with that as a plan.
  12. Getting back to the game ..... the board outside The Litten Tree in Eastleigh High St has the game on at 12 noon! Helluva of a pre-match ... or do they do time travel? Pretty sure its a 5.20 kick off?
  13. Well, well, I had exactly the same thought watching him this afternoon and pondered relative values. £35M ... oh dear, not worth £3.5M based on his performance today. Rickie Lambert cost £1M and he is 35 times as good as Carroll. Really hope SRL gets to play in the Prem and we can run the rule over him against Prem defenders. I think he will shine even at that level as his movement will make him hard to mark.
  14. Look forward, not back. The future is bright, the future is red and white.
  15. BBC red button with Chappers, Crooks and someone else - no idea what league that is!!
  16. Bournemouth 0 Billingham Synthonia 1 huh????
  17. flipping heck, skysports.com takes ages to update with any goals. Think I'll switch to bbc.co.uk - as well as saintsplayer, of course.
  18. Good for Lee-san to get a start ... although I would have started with Sharp as I like Lee as an impact sub. Trotta starts for them!
  19. Wiki suggests Saints paid his agent 30k to find him another club. Bit harsh - okay, we were brasso at the time. Flair player but as noted above was inclined to switch off if things weren't going for him. Still only 32, so could still cut it - if he hadn't retired 3 years ago. But give him time.
  20. This goes on in all areas of the ground! The exodus 5 mins before HT, the incoming 5 mins into the 2nd half, then the exodus again 5 mins from the end of the game, admittedly then to get away early and beat the crowds. Hard to see what's going on when you're up and down like a yoyo letting people out and then back in to their seats. Should make it more like theatre. Can't go to or from your seats while the show is in progress. Order and pay for half time sherberts before the game and have them laid out on the bar. No cash changing hands should make it faster too. Just present your chitty to the innkeeper and go.
  21. Not going our way so far 2nite. Can only hope the home sides fight back for a point each.
  22. This one seems to be polarising opinion. Some reason that Wolves are a larger club so can pay him more. The other camp respond that Wolves are on a downward spiral and he would be better served staying with Reading. I'm definitely in the second group. He can consider his options at the end of the season. If Reading haven't made the promotion list, then it is the time to look at options. But not now - Reading are serious promotion candidates, and he wouldn't mess them about. I would be amazed if he was interested in Wolves. And Adkins? No chance, thank heavens.
  23. Was just considering this conundrum myself and was going to open a thread - don't need to, as one is up and running. Hard to say on this one - I usually say 'draw please' so no-one gets 3 points! Agree we don't want the chasing pack to catch us, but then I don't want Wham to re-establish top spot. So on balance, I'm going to hope for a draw and hope we can put a series of wins together to get clear in front, and then the rest can beat each other senseless.
  24. You're a confusing character alright - girlie in some ways .... yet into death metal! ME? Completely in touch with my feminine side and don't mind saying it. I have Desperate Housewives on series-link on Sky Plus! Love Rom Coms ... drink Lambrini, eat chocolates, listen to smooth jazz (Kenny G, Chris Botti, Boney James etc) .... but long bubble baths?? No way! I'm not a complete woman. Torn tomorrow between St Mary's and staying in for Whitney's funeral. As I'm hoping the funeral is later than 5pm our time, I'll be at the game!
  25. Absolutely bizarre - if they were 17th you could understand the reasoning. But what are they - 4th? The Chairman is clearly thinking top 2 or 3rd at best. An unfair dismissal, unless there is something we don't know about. He'll have to serve gardening leave while that goes through, but after that someone is going to get a very good manager.
