  1. Oh actually you're getting farther ahead than the man himself. He said his recovery is going well. He starts running this week and will train with the Club if all goes well. I mentioned the rumour that Richardson had picked up an injury in Switzerland and he said he hadn't heard that, but would get up to speed on Monday. I said we (or more exactly) I still saw a place for him in the Saints setup even with Danny Butterfield coming in too. And guys, he didn't know about the Butterfield signing ... and yes, he commented that would push him down the priority list, and he did feel that maybe with 2 RBs in front of him, that could be the end of his hope that AP could make him an offer. We talked about it (Butterfield) being only a year's contract but GM said that's normal for a 30 yo. Year by year. GM said he would take anything, pay as you play, just to get back. In answer to "what will you do if you don't make it back?" he sighed and said "I haven't thought that far ahead; I'm just focusing on recovering". As for the guy himself, he looked lean and younger than when I'm sat in the Chapel! Also not that tall a guy, only my height. Impressed me much - very open, friendly, approachable, had photos with the fans, signed their programs. Yeah, hope we can use him in the coaching setup, if he doesn't get a playing contract.
  2. I had a chat with Bart when he came to the bench for the second half. I asked him if he has signed his contract, to which he replied, "not yet." I encouraged him to get on and sign and he said "I will, this week I sign contract, ok." Good enough for me. Bart told me himself he is signing the new contract. I said I hoped he was given more games and he smiled.
  3. He was indeed. I was with him for a while and had a good chat with him about his medical situation/fitness. Great bloke. Signed numerous autographs and had pics taken with everyone's wife/daughter/dog. Do you wanna know what he told me? I want to build up the suspense first.
  4. Good summary of the position, in my view as well. We have existing players who can cover the roles Papa and Antonio played. If you read the OS accounts, Holmes is impressing and Oxo is a good prospect. And like you say, who knows what deals are in the pipeline. So, Alpine, NO, I'm not disappointed with the apparent lack of signings. All is in order.
  5. Surely this Boyota is being considered for the U21 side? As would be Shulton, Harlow Jean (picture of a beauty queen), McGlashen and Corsa Van - the trialists from last weekend. We're recruiting for two levels - senior and junior. These guys are at the junior level, not as rivals to the senior side. Well, that's how I reason on it.
  6. Maybe so ... but so was Matt Paterson ... wasn't he?
  7. Greta Garbo, and Monroe Deitrich and DiMaggio Marlon Brando, Harlee Dean On the cover of a magazine Grace Kelly; Harlee, Dean Picture of a beauty queen Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire Ginger Rodgers, dance on air Every time I hear or read his name, I start singing Vogue, vogue, vogue lyrics .....
  8. Time for a group hug, guys. Say to each other "you are my friend, I love and respect you." Didn't any of you have mothers that did this when you squabbled with your sister/brother/friend?
  9. I can't decide if you're fanatically devoted to Saints ... or mad. ps. I'm going at the weekend - to Basingstoke!
  10. Agree. We should make an offer. If we don't get him, as Stoke want too much or if Beattie won't come back, then so be it. But if you don't ask ...
  11. Thanks Eric! Haha. OK, I'm going to go for bees in a jar option, and take them down to SMS each game. As such, to preserve their safety, I'll keep the lid on, and release one every time we score! Rather than a dove of peace, it'll be a bee of celebration.
  12. I grew to like them, and I'm not sure I can watch football without the sound now.
  13. Why would we be trialling 18 yo just learning the game? They're surely years away from our first team.
  14. That pretty much sums up my view too. I accept he did fail a medical with Braga. I'd like to know why, as in whether it should affect any offer we have put to him. Subject to this ... I'd like him to stay and I'd like to see him used for more games ... maybe he is given all cup games? He does need to be playing games, especially as we have withdrawn from reserve league, and he needs to move his career along and gain experience, here, if not there. There was also talk that Pernecky wanted to move on. Like Corsa, I haven't been impressed with FourPast in warm=up games so we could need another keeper soon.
  15. ^^^ I took my first Easyjet flight this year, with some trepidation after years of Airline (tv prog) and hearsay rumours. Gotta say - it was great. Flight on time, no pushing and shoving for seats, attractive stewardesses. What more could you want? Anything else you'd like a review of?
  16. http://www.winchesterfootballclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=100.0 http://www.winchesterfootballclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=93.0 Tickets will be available on the gate on the day as always but if you want to buy in advance then get in contact with Bernie on: 07884225611 Tickets will cost £7 Adults, one pound for kids.
  17. Don't need him as backup. We have Sam Argent and maybe Graeme Murty too.
  18. And why can't they issue a yellow or red card for all the pushing and pulling in the box when a corner or free kick is about to come in? Play may not be active but the players are! That gets my gander up, does that.
  19. Interesting - if he is a spokesman for the Club. I'd definitely give half a million for Antonio, and probably even 1M, but then it's not MY money I'm offering. Might be worth e-mailing the Club with this conversation?
  20. We will go unbeaten all season. We are the Arsenal of League One!
  21. It's be an odd one for me, as well. Although I have been booking tickets online for years, it doesn't recognize my customer number (I was a member). However it does recognize my teenage son's number (although he has never bought any tickets) and it does my father's, who hasn't been to SMS for about 5 years, and died a year ago!!! You couldn't make it up. I'll be booking tickets using my son's number this season, then. I'm the lead customer in the family, the one who books the tickets, yet I'm not recognized. I write this with a wry smile, though. I'll be there next season however I have to book the tickets.

  23. Yeovil have apparently already made him an offer. If we are interested, it's time to make him an offer, rather than play poker face, keep our powder dry etc.
  24. I'm disappointed .... I was hoping for an update on the garden gnomes.
