  1. I do now completely agree that NC does need to make a public statement. In business terms, the outlook is bleak and investor confidence is low. We were led to believe AP was dismissed for inappropriate behaviour and that the players made a deputation to Cortese, a suggestion of player power leaving NC no alternative. HOWEVER Hammond and Wilkins' comments suggesting they were as shocked as the fans suggests that Cortese took this action for reasons known only to himself. He has lost the confidence of many/the majority of fans and he needs to get us back on-side. Please Mr Cortese, we need to know what the grounds were for the action you took, and your action plan on who will replace him. PLEASE!
  2. He seems to be a 'marmite' player juding by the polarised comments on here. I'm in the 'nay' corner. Absolutely frustrating player, doesn't seem to be able to cross accurately, goes round in circles, can't score from 4 yards, and plays on the wrong flipping side, by choice. I'd drop him. Oxo on the right, Holmes or Dickson on the left. He's keeping his place above better players at the club. I can't see what the attraction was in the first place.
  3. At least he now seems prepared to consider other options than his beloved Hoddle!
  4. Ugly scenes at the ground. Glad I didn't go today now. Sadly, it's time to face up. NC does now need to explain what grouinds he had to release/get rid of AP, as we fans are not behind him. He then needs to show us his solution, with a new manager who can inspire this team.
  5. Swindon away! Haha! 5-0 to Swindon coming up....
  6. This is an absolute disgrace - hopeless today. We need a manager, and not the current clot, who seems unable to motivate the team. Very depressed today.

And no, that's was Lou Ferrigno, or similar - I haven't the motivation to google. Lou Ferrigno is no relation to Lou FerVandross. ;-)
  8. Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Hammond Schneiderlin Dickson Chamberlain Lambert Guly
  9. I'm a big fan of Harding's footballing abilities, but someone needs to take him aside over screaming at ballboys. What is his beef? That they don't get the ball to him fast enough for a quick throw-in? He needs to calm down. If he screamed at my son, I'd not be happy. Every ball boy is someone's son (I assume).
  10. I'd like a PM - about anything. I've never had one .. never.
  11. A serious question .... is he not fully committed to his Spanish project, rendering himself unavailable for selection for the role?
  12. I have to say I get concerned with the abuse that gets hurled on here. Would some of our contributors be so abusive to each other if talking in the street face to face? I think not. Then why do it from behind the computer screen? Then again, I don't really get concerned. So I'm contradicting myself. It's only words, and words are all we have. I remind myself I am a supporter, and even if AP plays someone I think should not be played, my role is still to support. I think we should all have a drink together, and a hug and chat about how long we have all supported the team. All ya need is love, la la la la.
  13. MLG, thanks for posting that. As you suggest, one would assume at least Cortese and Pardew knew before the game, maybe even the players. I note they are "shocked at his untimely death." Of course, no death is timely. Should we read into this that his death was a surprise, rather than the result of an existing known illness. Maybe we know more soon, maybe we won't. But yes, it does explain AP's comments we need to be supporters of our club, not critics. UTS. WIFM!!!
  14. Actually, a very good idea from our Alpine friend. WIFM!
  15. max ehrmann??? Sounds like Baz Lurrhman - that Sunscreen lyric. Well-good advice, like, man, innit.
  16. No sell-on clause, chaps. This sale went through at the time Mr Lowe was not with us ... before he came back. I found an article earlier where he bemaons that if he had been with the Club when Jones (and a couple of others) were negotiated, he would have put in the sell-on clause. However, he wasn't and hence no sell-on clause in this deal. Yes, odd that a bid of 15M was declined last season and now a deal of 7M is about to go through. Something has happened that made Mr Bruce keen to make the sale go through now!
  17. over the Koren update. Re RL - there appears - IMHO - to have been a shift in outlook on this. Agree that previously AP was looking a Lambertesque player to backfill for him. However, over the last few games we have seen Barnard being squeezed into that mould, and I'm of the viewpoint that AP is thinking, either willingly or under sufferance, that Barnard will be Lambert's stand-in. Today's comments about 'we can play and win without RL and Adam' underscore that to me. But I do agree there could be something in that shirt numbers 8 and 11 are mysteriously still unassigned.
  18. I'm with Hypo. If you haven't got anything upbuilding to say, don't say anything. Where's the lock and key team?
  19. That's not a bad shout ... albeit locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. If we can ban photographers and journalists, surely we can say to Sky 'we don't want you to film here; highlights will be on Saints TV tomorrow - 30 quid a year for your membership'. We don't need the Sky money, after all. Guys, I know we CAN'T do this really.
  20. Really? Nah. If and when we lose Mr Pardew, I would expect an overseas manager (Italian?) to take the reigns. But let's focus on the here and now. Big up, the current manager. Onwards and upwards. We can still win the other 45 league games.
  21. 4-2-3-1 as a formation for me, every time. Yes, we badly missed Antonio on Saturday. His pace, his enthusiasm. No one can convince me Puncheon is a better option on the right.
  22. Yeah, it's regional - they are surrounded by bigger fish. They need to relocate to an area where their catchment would be greater. A look at the map would indicate where to base themselves. Milton Keynes is taken.
