Now that made me laugh out loud. Not good in an open plan office. :-)

Atromitos - the new Stoke City
the saint in winchester replied to fish fingers's topic in The Saints
Calm down, Stevo. Put some bromide in ya tea, man. Indeed, Licka looked a useful player and left us wishing he'd been playing through his contract. -
Fair enough. I would actually have been deeply offended to have been classed as a 'senior' at just age 50. :-) I still drive a Mazda MX-5 and listen to Tiesto!!!!
-
Poyet was pretty clear Calderon was not going to be offered a new contract by Brighton, as he said he would like to consider his options. If he wants to pay Calderon until 30 June, and we pick up the tab from 1 July, fine by us. But I can't see why we can't be talking to the player now the decision has been taken by his manager.

So at what age does one count as a 'senior'? I've just attained to 50. I can go on Saga Holidays (not that I want to!) Can I get cheaper season tickets at ye olde footballe clube? :-)

Anyone know if Stacey Solomon (from X-Factor) attends? http://www.stacey-solomon.com/ If she's making an appearance, count me in. She could be my WAG any time.

Surely the club would pursue a payment defaulter through legal or other means? The Club (or the finance company) would have their direct debit details and just apply the sum outstanding in one lump sum. If I defaulted on a personal direct debit - be it for council tax, water rates, car loan etc - the payee would simply suck my bank account for sums outstanding plus a penalty sum. I'm finding it hard to believe that defaulters keep coming to St Mary's and just sit in an empty seat every game. Or am I being incredibly naive?

What I frown at is "if we don't get the money, we'll be forced to sell players." So ... sell players then! It's what we did year after year to keep going - selling an asset or two to generate working capital. It's not unheard of, yet some clubs seem to think it's a last resort. I understand the consortium have the money, but the delay is to guarantee they will have Selhurst Park to play on next season. I'm sure if they commit to the purchase, BoS will ensure the ground is available.

Saints due Windfall from Wolves
the saint in winchester replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
Oh we don't need the money. Let them keep it. Just send us Drew Surman on a season loan, and we'll call it quits. -
However did we come to give Forecast a 5 year contract? :-( We've never given anyone else a 5 year contract, have we?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have a look at the Blackburn Rovers website - dirt-cheap season tickets, plus an instalment plan! Ok, it's to watch c*ap football by the home team, but you get to see other quality Prem sides when they come to town. I know the area is mill-workers so priced for the area, but even so .... they're paying like 200 quid a season with an instalment plan for a PREMIERSHIP ticket, where we're being asked for 350 quid for League 1 football, no instalment plan. This is going to stretch many fans to breaking point, and beyond, in some cases.

There's going to be some bad language on here when StuRomseySaint comes on and posts his feelings. Those under 18 should log off now and an adult will let them know when it's safe to come back. I'm going to reach for a flak jacket and take cover. He will NOT be happy with no instalment plan.

The food will be healthier and more child-friendly. Hmm, pureed tofu mix and fanta, it is, then. :-)

Sadly I think there's more chance of seeing Sade Adu play at St Mary's than Freddie. http://www.sade.com/us/home/ I'd be happy to see either of them.

I think that will last overnight :-) If no-one gets it exactly right, I'll award it to nearest bull -

Is this my 1000th post? I won't know until I post it. :-( Let's see -
If he's a RB, and you say he is, then ... I deduce we are said "mystery League 1 side." So where does this leave the move for Calderon, if indeed we are the side who have offered for Francis?

Yeah, are we going to have 23 puns about our players watching the world cup? "Rick-Key to the World Cup" "The Fonte of Knowledge in South Africa" .... and so on .. you get the idea :-)
