  1. He could be a useful tool though. Our useful tool ...
  2. Dolphins, seagulls, sabre-toothed tiger .... Anyway, today we will hear something. Don't know what exactly, but we will hear something!!!
  3. Yeah, I love that his postings are of attitudes slightly to the right of Genghis Khan! Even he would be saying "oh, Stu, you can't say that!"
  4. And since they will be priced at a third of that price, so the break-even becomes 1800 STs. Interesting ... very interesting ..... ps. ALLEGEDLY!
  5. What was that quote that Cantona came out with after calling a press conference all those years ago? I can't be bothered to look it up, something along the lines of ... "when dolphins follow a trawler, it's because they think fish are about to be thrown." Something remotely like that! We're all checking the website every 30 mins (I know I am!) expecting some IMPORTANT breaking news ... about season tickets, pre-season games and the like ... not vacuum cleaners and 5-a-side games! :-(
  6. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2057092,00.html Don't get your hopes up. :-(
  7. Airfield. I see what you did there! That made me laugh.
  8. Yeah ... but what's his throw-in like? :-)
  9. HEY! Calm down. I just read the end of your post and figured you had mistyped. Justin Fashanu came out as gay and committed suicide, so I thought you were referring to him. This is - or set out to be - a football website. I wasn't posting anything about race or sexuality, "agendas" or "having a dig", just asking if you meant someone else. You need to calm down, go out for a walk, and enjoy the sunshine.
  10. Ah ok, sorry, posted last message before I saw yours. I get ya - like a base salary plus commission in business? Okey dokey. I get it now.
  11. comment withdrawn following OldBill's explanation.
  12. Huh? I think you mean John and Justin Fashanu???
  13. What I can't understand (still) is that IIRC Murty's contract was always Pay-as-you-Play, so we insured ourselves last season by that style of contract. So why didn't we offer the same terms again this season? If he overcomes injury and plays lots of games, great, it's a win/win situation. If he struggles and is out injured, it's not costing us anything ... apart from physio time and space.
  14. ... which has a link to the Facebook page. I like it.
  15. Your mate read it on 606, posted by a WUM. No truth in it. Just a 'I hear this player has been released - should we have a look at him?'
  16. I blame Peter Storrie.
  17. That was my first reaction too. I am wondering if .... if they are being paid a massive fee to go to the U S of A, and that is why Andronikou has signed it off. Revenue earned exceeding cost of going?
  18. I'm still confused over the Murty decision. Wasn't he already on a pay-as-you-play deal? So, on the same basis for next season, if he wasn't to play at all or very little, it's not going to cost us very much, is it? But, if retained, he would (have been) still be a motivational force at the club. Or is this a case of the approach being 'they have to go the full journey over the next 4 seasons all the way to the Premiership' to get their contract renewed? And Murty failed that requirement. Or is it something else, like the club not being too happy with him being on Late Kick Off every week, like a media pundit? AP always talked highly of Murty, and I was expecting his PAYP contract to be extended. Didn't happen.
  19. It made me wonder too! Come on Weston, unfrock him. :-) Name and shame!
  20. +1 Yes, I did. I saw the headline and thought "Surman?" They are wags on the OS writing team!!!
  21. WS is playing this quite correctly, and we should compliment him for that, not put him under pressure to ask such questions. If VFTT's info is correct - and it sounds like it is - then and only then should WS consider asking such a question of the family. Even so, a Pardew to McCarthy enquiry would be the only formal way forward.
  22. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_6159625,00.html Arfield on his way to Udders? OK with me. You can't miss what you never had. FC, happy to go with your recommendation re this Oxford lad.
  23. Can we move on from 'the attention seeker' and his financial management issues?! Thank you. So ... we think it will be the TBT vs a European side on or before 24th July. 31st July H Reading 3rd Aug A Colden Common 7th Aug L1 season starts ....
  24. "pre-season plans begin to take shape." When is the first game of the new L1 season? I guess the now customary prestigious pre-season friendly with a top European side could take place either before or after this date, 31 July. Barcelona could still be lined up. :-)
  25. I've been going for 40 years. My dad used to take me to The Dell in the 1960s to watch Ron Davies, Terry Paine et al. I had to stand on an upturned milk crate to see over the retaining wall. These days I can see over the wall (joke) and sit with my own teenage son at St Mary's. It's passed from generation to generation. It's one thing to watch sanitised prem football in TV, it's another to see it live at the ground.
