They have surprised me this season I have to admit. Really wanted them to do poorly because they have such arrogant, disrespectful fans on their mongboard (but I guess then who doesn't?) Allardyce clearly knows what he is doing and no doubt they have huge confidence at the moment. Would be interesting to see what happens to them if they go on a losing run and the fans start to turn. Their fans have what they see as the "West Ham" way of playing football and I'm not sure Fat Sam would last too long there if things go a bit belly up. An away win at Newcastle can't be argued with - can't see us coming away from there with anything less than a severe drubbing.

As far as the game goes today I fancy Ricky to bag a brace today. So confident, I have made him my captain in my Fantasy team :-)

And the purpose of spending all that dough in the Summer was surely not to prepare for immediate relegation. I don't get that talk about "consolidating" in the NPC - it seems to me there are loads of ex-prem teams who have spent decades doing that.

Remind me again what your prediction was for last season? 12th? I always thought that 4th bottom would be an achievement this season. I remember commenting, amongst others that we needed to get some players in with proven Prem experience. That also wasn't well received. I seem to remember MLG being one of the biggest naysayers at the time.

Completely agree with this. I never quite get all the Morgan backslapping a lot of folks seem to do on here. He seems far too lightweight and certainly isn't commanding in any respect of the word. Bring back Jimmy Case please!!

unfortunately that never stopped my son admiring manure :-( as far as tonight goes I thought we continued to look weak at the back and in central midfield. too easily ripped apart. on the plus side we kept plugging away, had a fair bit of possession and probably deserved a goal for our efforts. A couple of wins would do wonders for our confidence and I still think Nige deserves the chance to try and turn this round. Don't think he will get it though

Hmm I'm looking at their line up and whilst it's good, it's not anywhere near as good as it could have been. No Adebayor, no Dembele. Anyone fancy us to give it to Huddlestone in the midfield today? **If** NA is being dictated to as to what formation to play, he always has the option to refuse or walk. As he hasn't done that, I can only assume he is happy to play that way. Regardless of who sets the formation, nobody made him drop SRL and Gazza today - quite astonishing decisions. All this talk of formation, but the biggest damage was done by not strengthening the defence in the summer. We are on to a mullering EVERY away game this season. Every team will be looking to tear us a good one. We desperately need to win all of our home games but I can't see that happening. Spurs next and I fancy us to concede at least 3.

Of all the nasty little ****ty teams to lose to... hate their fans so much. We have now played 6 teams from the top 10. Wet Spam have played 4 teams from the bottom 5. Having said that, we are woeful defensively and NA has some questions to answer with team selection and tactics. I'm not sure that any manager can turn our woeful defense around though. We may need to put up with batterings until Christmas and hope we can get some decent signings in then.

This is very sad to see us shipping 3 goals (and counting) against one of the poorest teams in the league. Does not bode well I'm afraid.

In essence he is correct. Rangers and Celtic are 2 of the best supported clubs in the world. They suffer from being in a small country and a **** league. Let them loose on a European stage with the ability to collect the same sort of funding as ManU and Barca and they would both be forces to be reckoned with. We unfortunately wouldn't. Don't see what all the fuss is about.
