  1. The fairytale scenario is the top 6 get into trouble for financial irregularities/fielding ineligible players etc etc and are all deducted points. Saints win the Premier League.
  2. My post count has taken a hit, I've missed out on 0.01p of SaintsWeb investment, and I've had to talk to the wife. This has been a truly shyte weekend.
  3. Through school, it was Tuesday I loathed. As a shift worker now, I don't have any days I hate more than any other. They all suck.
  4. Sign Alderweireld if at all possible, he'll be tougher to replace than Lovren was. Though I wonder what the first team chances of the Swindon lads Turnbull and Stephens will be next season... I would sign Elia if the price was right, and only if we got Europa. An extra player to have in the squad. I don't think he's a bad player, he just hasn't done much so far. Maybe it's a reverse Saganowski situation, crud on loan but decent when signed. As for Djuricic? Tough one. I'd be very tempted to get him on loan for a season with an option to buy. Then we'll know if he's truly good enough.
  5. Well that's that then. I'm still not sure how I feel about Bournemouth in the Prem but well done to them. If anything it will be a refreshing change to have a new team in it.
  6. Sunderland vs Saints Leicester vs Saints Saints vs Aston Villa Man City vs Saints So a colleague asked me just now what our last 4 fixtures were, and how many points I'd take if offered now. I said that based on those fixtures, I'd take 8 points right now, though of course I think we're good enough to get more. What do you lot think we'll get for the rest of the season, and what would you take if offered now?
  7. Sunderland 0-8 Southampton Vergini og, Vergini og, Vergini og (hattrick), Brown og, O'Shea og, Fletcher og, Cattermole og, Kelvin Davis. Naw, I predict a much tougher game than the 8-0 but one that we really should still be winning. But they will fight, and they need to. I so want us to win this but I can see a draw. We have more quality, let's just hope it shines through.
  8. Or a BBC vendetta against BT Sport... :-)
  9. Anyone else got half an eye on Swansea behind us? Although we have 3 winnable games coming I suppose...
  10. Now you've done it! ;-)
  11. Simples. Fonte. At one stage I was going to give it to Clyne, but his form dipped a bit. Fonte has been consistently good, we are the best team defensively this season, and he's the captain. It's an easy choice for me. Honourable mention to a few though, Alderweireld when he's played, Bertrand, Clyne, Mané, Morgan and Vic.
  12. Did this on Facebook yesterday. Got 20, missed Alan Kelly and, ironically for a Saints fan, thought David Hirst was Andy Sinton.
  13. If their interest has cooled in Morgan (arguably the better player) because of Coquelin's emergence and their wont to concentrate on other positions, one assumes they aren't in for Wanyama. paper talk IMO
  14. Dear Saints, Armani Little? Bevis Mugabi? If They make the first team we'll be a laughing stock. Probably best if we just sign as many Davis's as we can get our hands on. Plain names are the way forwards. Yours sincerely, Vaginia Buttmunch.
  15. I have a pair I see a lot and don't want, and a pair I want but don't see. Tits is also the name of an ex-colleague. Though I think her real name was Letitia.
  16. RIP (Scurries off to read about him in "All The Saints"...)
  17. Hesketh still looks about 10yo, but then as I get older anyone 20 or younger looks about half their age. It'll be interesting to see who makes the step up permanently from tonight's team next season. I would assume Gallagher will get more game time, Reed will still be defensive midfield cover, likewise Targett behind Bertrand. McCarthy has flirted with the first team, as has Hesketh and Seager. Sinclair looked quite nippy on the left. Gazzaniga played confidently but having witnessed some dodgy performances from him in the Prem it will take a few decent performances to sway me as to how good he is. (Although I accept he was thrust in very young straight from League Two.) What say you? Can any of these guys become permanent fixtures? Depends on the positions available and strength in depth I guess. Makes me wonder if Stephens and Turnbull will be ready for next season...
  18. Anyone else having trouble with SaintsWeb opening? Anyway cracking goal from Gallagher. And Seager's was decent too. What was Harrison Reed sent off for? I missed it.Fifteen minutes left, and I finally have control of my TV so can watch it.
  19. ...and a League One keeper...
  20. Cue a seventh-place finish or worse...
  21. I did one a while a go a few times and we ended up 6th every time ahead of Spurs. However since then the form of one or two clubs above us has dipped. I still think we'll finish 6th or 7th but it will still be a good season. A lot can happen in a short space of time though. Ask Man City.
  22. This for me, though difficult to drop Yoshida. I prefer Long as the impact sub. Good to have the quality. God knows the result, could go either way. Need a win, probably be a draw.
  23. My view is if Liverpool get to the cup final, it's possible they'll have one eye on it and stutter in the league. Many of those players won't want to get injured or suspended before the F A Cup final at Wembley. Wishful thinking perhaps, though I'd rather Villa beat them anyway and we still trounce them in the league to a CL place. (Not that I think the latter will happen but you never know.) ⛄️
  24. As long as we secure Europa, I'll be happy. Small team mentality perhaps but it will be a big step forward for the club and give fans the chance to travel to Europe. Reaching the Champions League would be dreamland, especially as it means finishing above "big clubs", but I can't see it happening. That said I would love to at least be still in the running in a few games time, properly but the wind up the skirt of the teams that are traditionally known as "bigger" than us.
  25. I couldn't follow the game today as I was at work, but it seems it was a comfortable if unimpressive win. I predicted 2-0 before kick off and wish I had a bet on now. Hey ho. I've just seen Hull's fixture list for their last six fixtures. I would hazard a guess that they are getting relegated this season unless they pull a miracle result or two out - it's atrocious. They have to play all the big boys in their last 6 bar Burnley and Palace, and even those two will be tough. Shame, because I don't mind Hull. I thought they made some decent signings last summer.
