  1. Allardyce. Signed some good players but has been told to get West Ham playing in a style unfamiliar to Him. He's under big pressure to deliver.
  2. £7.5 million for Forster doesn't seem like too much to me, for someone that's been acknowledged as one of England's better keepers, done well for both Norwich and Celtic, and has Champions League Experience all at a good age for a keeper when he has a lot of time left in his career. I approve of this signing, perhaps more so than signing Ruddy. Better than Marshall? Mmm, that's a tougher one.
  3. How many posts before the OPs question is addressed...
  4. I'm going to sleep all through tomorrow and wake up on Thursday. If nothing's happened, I'll have missed the worst of the forum meltdown.
  5. Stoke sign Bojan. One of Barcelona's up and coming youngsters in the mid naughties and now joined the Potters. Still youngish, could be a cracking signing if he settles well.

I doubt there'll be a marquee signing this summer, just good, solid players that add to the team. Mind you if Ramirez, Osvaldo and Lovren were marquee signings, we aren't exactly missing much.
  7. If his wages are what people say they are, we've done well to steer clear of this one. Plus he's far from the finished product. Will learn from Ferdinand. Good signing for them, not much of a problem that we didn't get him.
  8. With the current squad as it is (which it won't be but because we a WILL sign players), and assuming Morgan, Osvaldo and Dejan are gone, this is our best line up. Doesnt look too bad, does it?!?! Granted, centre back could be stronger, and we wouldn't want to rely on Clyne at left back all season (although Azoilicueta did a job for Chelsea on the wrong side) but it could be worse. Weak in squad, but with a fairly strong first XI. Now add the signings, and it becomes: New GK Clyne Fonte New CB New LB Davis Wanyama Cork Ramirez Pelle Tadic. ...which highlights the positions that need sorting.

So we'll drop Fonte just for the lols? Might as well put Gazzaniga in goal too. I somehow how think we'll have brought in an extra centre back by the opening game but even if not we still have Fonte.
  10. Hooiveld next to Fox worried the shyte out of me; Hooiveld next to a decent left back wouldn't be so bad. Gazzaniga is the one that truly scares the wee out of me when I see his name on the team sheet. He's not Prem quality by far.
  11. Been having a look on WBA forums, they're actually pretty happy with their transfer business, which is something after they were pretty much unanimously angry about Irvine being appointed. I do think they're in for a long season though, even going through what we have this summer, I still think Saints are in far better shape than some clubs in this division.

I believe De Vrij is Man Utd bound too, so you'll be disappointed there too. IMO we will lose Morgan, Lovren and Osvaldo this summer but keep Ramirez. So we need a GK, 2 CB, 1LB, 1AM and one more striker. Though we could do without the AM at a pinch. So Forster and Van Dijk from Celtic, Vlaar from Villa, Any capable left back, don't care who, Redmond, and Ings. (Which means not replacing Morgan. I think we have enough central midfield competition as it is.)
  13. I can't see the corner taker but I'm assuming it was Ward-Prowse, he has a unique way of taking set pieces!
  14. A back 4 of Rafael, De Vrij, Hummels, Shaw is a pretty tasty back 4 for them next season. They have nothing to worry about.
  15. £25 million to Liverpool, £20 million to any other top 4 English side, £16.5 million to anyone not in this country. :-D
  16. It is what it is. I'm not going to have an aneurism over something I can't control. The squad will be ok to start the season with, and worst case scenario we have the January window. My one gripe, as I said at the start of summer, is we should let those players that want out just go, while trying to get the best money we can for them, so we have plenty of time to settle the squad and sign reinforcements. As it is we still have Lovren, Osvaldo and Morgan here and no one is quite sure what will become of them. Ramirez too, who looked like he was on his way early summer. And the transfer targets of Jay, Chambers and the contract uncertainty of Cork and Fonte. For now I'm confident we'll do what we need to do, in Koeman I trust, but I have one eye on the calendar. A signing before Wednesday would be nice though...
  17. 1) New signing. 2) Tadic 3) New GK signing 4) New signing 5) Reed 6) New signing whom we think will be arse but isn't.
  18. Another for Liverpool if the papers are to believed.
  19. Rehash of an old article? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?49868-Arsenal-looking-to-sign-Callum-Slattery#.U8u8lye9KSM
  20. £14 million? Are clubs deliberately giving Liverpool too much money so they can buy our players? That fee is a joke for Borini. Cracking business from Liverpool there. And signing Remy for half that!
  21. I agree, our transfer business is done. There's no way we'll sign anyone else now. 17th would be a cracking finish with the turd we have in our squad. Ok, sorry for the sarcasm, but I'm drunk and tired. Still even if those 4 you mention do better than us, that's still a 12th place finish, which for a transition season is fine by me.

3am, 12th hour of drinking, and I was on Windsor and Eton bridge watching the spectacle. 'Twas unbelievable, really awesome display of nature's power.
