Ryan Bertrand is the new Roberto Carlos. I reckon he's good for ten goals.
-
We could get by with bringing only 1 CB in. I'd rather 2 though. I assumed Stephens and Turnbull were still off to Swindon.
-
He missed a penalty after 5 years of banging them in with us. That, to me, seems like his head isn't in the right place at the moment. Star struck perhaps. I'm sure he'll come good for them, even if it's in the cups. I have no animosity towards Lambert. Liverpool got a player they wanted, Lambert got his dream move, and we made a £3 million profit on a player we had 5 good years out of and is now 32. Wins all round.

This is the transition season. Aim for top half but accept 11th- 15th as it stands.

Some could be paid in installments? Anyway I'd rather have three strong, careful-spending, transfer windows than one where we blow our load in one go. Whether this window counts as the first of those, we wait and see.

Sounds positive. Hope that's true.

He's a good player but we've been known to sign crocks before. As with Guidetti, Rodwell could be a good signing but I wouldn't be confident in signing either until they've proved they're over the worst. I would take Zaha, he still has a lot to prove, but IMO Hernandez is class and should be snapped up. A natural goal scorer. The big 4 or 5 clubs sign so many players, they naturally have wastage. Chelsea in particular should be looked at.

I found a picture of Forster and his Celtic teammates. He's really tall. .

It was a wonderfully coded message Twiglet but I worked it out. Oh and 7:00pm is in 6 minutes...

An anagram of Stetson is St Neots. St Neots is the home of Lee Philpot. Lee Philpot played for Leicester City. Leicester City is the current club of Anthony Knockaert. Anthony Knockaert used to play for Guingamp. Guingamp was an early club of Didier Drogba. Didier Drogba just re-signed for Chelsea. Chelsea just released Samuel Eto'o. I deduce then the new signing is Samuel Eto'o.

If I read it right, Kenya are out of African Cup Of Nations qualifiers. Good news that Wanyama won't be busy in January. Lets sign some Kenyans.

http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/transfer-specials?aff=9718&dcmp=ss_betlink_TransferCentreLive Interesting odds here on where players will end up. According to this we're favourites to sign Clasie, third favourites to sign Benteke and third favourites for Hernandez. Just bored, is all.

All 3 players we've signed come from the list Faz mentioned. I'm sure players we sign also will. I still have faith in the club signing players, and ultimately they'll be the ones Koeman wants and needs, my gripe is that we're waiting a long time to make them, and time is running out. I understand you can't just click your fingers to get a player to sign, but time is of the essence. We have a decent team still, we just need to strengthen it as best as possible. Important week ahead.

2 domestic and limitless foreign according to a quick search. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-fc-regulations-dictate-martinez-6459979

Thats the dream for me, though I'd plonk an extra RB loan on that.
-
Yes and no. The first choice back 4 of Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida and Bertrand are OK, but the squad in that area is now remarkably thin. No RB cover, and inexperienced Targett at left back and really only Jos at CB.

JWP could well be our future. But after what we've experienced this summer...
-
I am not ITK but I have a Liverpool supporting mate that told me tonight we're interested in Lucas. Where did that come from? Anyone ITK? Came as a surprise to me and I look at this site at least once everyday...

Forster, as our future. Love Boruc and quite possibly without signing him we'd have struggled more in our first Prem season. But if we sign Forster, he's our future (and media attention might dictate it so) and with one year left on his contract (and the fact we signed him on a free when no one else seemingly wanted him) I can see Boruc accepting that. Ultimately though, we should sign Forster with a view to him "challenging" Boruc for the first team spot. Healthy competition. Either way, Goodbye Gazza if it happens.

Just read that back and it sounds more like a whinge than it should've been. Anywho, for those that know, can Targett, Isgrove, Sims et al do what their predecessors have done?
-
Everyone praises the Academy for producing top talent, and it has lately, but where was it in our CCC relegation season when we actually decided to trust it? Seriously? I understand you can't have a gem or two every year, but it seems to me slightly coincidental that when we really trusted it, it wasn't fully there. Maybe just me. (Intox) What worries me is we've flogged the jewels and are now relying on it again, with Isgrove (whom from people on here gets mixed reviews) leading the way. Are the next crop as good as the last crop? If so there's no reason to change it.

Both. Squad game yadda yadda yadda

I'd love it if the signing were completed today, whoever it is. Although at the moment, a centre back is clearly the priority. Starting the season with Fonte and Yoshida with Jos as back up does not inspire confidence.
