All I know is... Clyne is better than Johnson. I know nothing of Manquillo though. Respect to Clyne though for not following the wantaways. He's good enough to play for big club IMO.

Both home games Saints suffer from Legionnaires disease after the opposition wee into the club's water supply. We're resorted to a back 5 of Gazzaniga, McCarthy, Stephens, Hooiveld and Targett. After brave performances we lose 5-4 in both games. But both away wins are 10-0. Long scores all 20.

Can I take 3 from Liverpool and 3 from Spurs? Both away wins? I suppose Koeman getting one over against the great Van Gaal would be sweet too.

Every QPR player will at some stage of the season be referred to as a 'good boy' by Redknapp. Even Ferdinand who's old.

I muffed up my A Levels, as was expected TBF, although I did better than my predicted grades. I'd lost all love of learning in sixth form and just wanted a job. Thinking I'd missed out on a uni place (and not being fussed) I went and got a job. I eventually got a call from one of my unis (Brunel in Uxbridge) saying that I could go there, but only if I did a joint English/Music degree. I'd been on scholarships all through my school life for music, but ended up hating it and just wanted to do English. Still, through parental pressure I accepted the joint degree and a place at Brunel. I hated it. Many reasons. I dropped out 8 months later and went and got my job back, and I've been happily working ever since. I've since learned not to force any children I may bear to do anything they don't want to do.

Solly March! Cracking name. Sounds like something a Chinese man would say to Homer Simpson's wife after insulting her.
-
Apparently he played with Vlad Chiriches at Steaua. We need another CB, and Spurs are looking to offload him. Surely an option?
-
It could quite easily be 3-0 to Liverpool TBF, so his prediction isn't outrageous. I think we might surprise a few people though.

Weren't we in for his brother at one stage?

^Post above I meant CB not CM. I'm thinking we have enough CMs.
-
Bloody hell, is something in the water at St Mary's? Two signings! Welcome Florin! I'd still like to see another AM with an eye for goal, right back cover and another CM but beggars can't be choosers!

Welcome aboard Shane and good luck!

I'd be sad to see Cork go, but if he's not going to get game time, he's better off somewhere else. Especially if our future is Reed and JWP. Has Cork ever let us down? I can't think of an incident. He was also one of our better performers in our Championship relegation season. £3 million does seem low though for a player some on here think could play for England. I Wonder if this a precursor to bringing in another CM, as we are still being linked with them.

If Koeman can find Morgan's head and get him playing for us again, and playing happily, then it will represent one hell of a brilliant bit of man management. Irrespective of his attitude, I'd love to see him represent Saints again this season, he can even go next summer with my blessing. But I cannot see it. Morgan will go, and I doubt he'll be replaced. My gut instinct is that Taider was brought in to cover Morgan's vacancy. But it could be worse, at least we have decent youngsters coming through in his position.

I had a lovely day out in a Bournemouth.

Billy Sharp joins Leeds for Undisclosed fee
SNSUN replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in The Saints
Not sure we'd be where we without some vital goals in the NPC season. Mickey Evans did a similar job when we needed goals in the late 90s to avoid relegation. Best of luck At Leeds Billy. I think he'll fit in well there. -
I personally think the club knows Ings has a season left on his contract and is willing to risk signing him next summer on a free rather than an overinflated fee this summer. Of course that's dependent on Burnley not offering him a decent new contract or another club having the same idea as us. As for Long, seeing how it strengthens our attacking options comforts me. I'm looking forward to getting it over the line, and Gardos, and moving on to strengthening other areas like AM, RB and possibly another CB. Then there's the Schneiderlin problem...
-
As have some fans of other clubs on the BBC live feed today. Lazy predictions really, based on the very public knowledge we've lost our key players this summer. But we still have Clyne, Fonte, Wanyama, Davis, all good solid pros, and we've strengthened too. We shouldn't be concerned with relegation, certainly not at the end of the season. If we do end up down there, we've been mismanaged, but in Koeman I can't see that happening.
-
We have to hope a Suarezless Liverpool don't yet know what their best side is and are just as disjointed as us.
-
Ha! Big difference. £1.5 million has been quoted on one Leeds forum too but £500k sounds more likely. Still better than a free. I wonder if it's a sweetener for pushing the Byram deal through.
-
Having said that, isn't the Leeds chairman mental?
-
£5 million? WTF? That cannot be right surely?
