  1. On one hand, I want Derby to win, as it'll be an easier chance for 6 points next season than IMO QPR would. On the other, Derby have some tasty youngsters I want Saints to pilfer, so hope they don't go up. On the third hand (yes I have three, the third hand looks like a fist) I dislike QPR and think they're a poorly run club. Derby to win please, though I think QPRs experience may be telling.
  2. This week, he will be mostly wearing... Issy Miyake!
  3. Ask me at the end of the summer.
  4. Really? I heard they were going to offer Albrighton a new contract. Weird.
  5. Well it won't be Allardyce...
  6. She'd be good for morale...
  7. A coach that gets the best out of young players, and plays good attractive football, is what we need. Oh, and one that is really good in the transfer market as we'll need a few new players brought in. Shouldn't be too hard to find. #redknappwillbeoursaviour
  8. The search is continuing, I wish them and their families the best.
  9. Blimey this "nothing's happened yet" stuff gets earlier every summer. Next year I expect it'll occur 30 seconds after the final ball has been kicked. Chill out people.
  10. True. At the moment with all the media attention surrounding us, it feels a bit like we're going to get buggered up the jacksie by the big clubs. Yet it's SFC that hold all the cards, and will want to be suitably compensated for the loss of our best players. I accept the jewels may move on, but only when the price and timing is right for us. I'd wager we find out about Pochettino staying or going before we hear of any transfers in or out.
  11. Meh, we can buy him back in a years' time for half the price, once Liverpool ruin him. ;-)
  12. Pillockbrain. AKA Redknapp.
  13. ...and incentives. i.e. Utd winning the league, qualifying for Europe etc etc.
  14. £30 million is a good deal, but will still be so AFTER the World Cup. (And we haven't even seen if any other clubs are keen on putting a bid in for him yet.) It's not the amount of the transfer fee that concerns me, but (potentially) how quick the jewels seem to want to 'jump ship' to other clubs, so soon after the conclusion of the Premier League season. (If these media reports are to be believed, and I'm not entirely sure I do.) Are they concerned that if they get an injury in Brazil their transfers could be scuppered? I'd have thought their concentrations would be solely on WC preparations, rather than securing their futures at other clubs.
  15. I read that as: "They Ewe us one." I thought it was a sheep joke.
  16. Just reading the RedCafe forum, they talk like there's an air of inevitability about this transfer. "This'll happen. Southampton aren't rejecting 30 odd million and Shaw isn't going to reject Manchester United." I agree £30 million is a lot of money for a young full back with barely 2 season's experience behind him, but I'd love it if we rejected it and we milked them for more. Mind you the cocky gits probably know as much as we do.
  17. If I say the deal is done, and it eventually happens, am I ITK? Even though I know jack all about what's going on and have no contacts?
  18. With so many teams courting Shaw, we'd be stupid not to try to get them in a bidding war to bump his price up. The only way I can see this ringing true, is on the day Van Gaal is announced, a marquee signing for them would appease their fans. Still the ball is massively in our court, and for this deal to be done before the World Cup so easily would have me worried about the powers that be at our club. I can't see this being true, at least I hope it isn't. I accept we probably will sell Shaw, and £30 million is a decent fee, but not at those terms and not at the present time.
  19. I saw the TV report, a small number went to hospital but I don't think anyone was seriously injured or killed. I don't think the game would have continued if there had been. I saw the groundsman using a huge grinder to remove the sharp bits though. I suppose it could've been much worse.
  20. That Keeper has to live with that. Terrible challenge, mind you should have caught the ball in the first place.
  21. Need a source, we're all on tenterhooks enough as it is without concrete proof...
  22. Holy **** balls, you expect a few injuries playing football but not death... http://www.marca.com/2014/05/19/en/football/international_football/1400514032.html?
  23. Jack Cork to Arsenal for £20 mill. Seems ok... Anyone born in December, wearing a green top with a phone number ending In 99? Would be nice.
  24. Ha! It's a good appointment, one that should've been made last summer. Moyes is like Pochettino in they've both won nothing but bigger clubs want them, always a risky appointment. Following Sir Alex they needed someone experienced to fill the void, even if only for the short term. Van Gaal is onto a winner too, as all he has to do is restore Utd to the Champions League in 2015 and his appointment will be regarded as a success. And they have the financial firepower and brand name to do that, irrespective of the fact players may be turned off joining Utd as they won't be getting European football next year.
