...and yet we see how much success Newcastle have had with the French market and I wonder why we haven't raided that since... Morgan is it? I guess we have to hope for better luck with the Eredivisie.
-
Odd but we're not exactly short in the central midfield department. Morgan, Vic, Cork, JWP, Davis and Reed should be more than enough to see out the season. We need attacking midfielders, players to play in the front 3, not central midfielders. I had hoped Taider could adapt to play in the attacking trio, but now we'll never know. I definitely hope there are some signings coming up, aside from Tadic and possibly Ramirez I fail to see us create many goals until perhaps Rodriguez is fit again. Can we afford to rely on the youth?

I don't know how true it is, but I read he's available on a free? Probably huge wages but if he's free it'll be a coup for someone.

I can see us making a decent fist of this tie but losing. Annoyingly I was out with my Arsenal supporting mate when this draw was announced as we'd just watched their Game against Besiktas. "A bye to the 4th round" he claimed. Ergo I'd rather like us to win. Would love to go the the Emirates but am on extreme earlies annoyingly. Maybe I'll try and swap them.

Hugo Shecketer - player liaison officer?
SNSUN replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
His name was Hugo Seckter until Koeman started pronouncing it. -
Brek Shea? Barrel truly scraped.

I'm looking forward to seeing Luke Shaw up against Europe's elite....... Oh.
-
If we sign a replacement for Gaston, I'd be fine with this but I have a feeling he could offer us something this season, and so letting him go without replacement would be crazy.
-
It was deliberate. In fact Long doesn't have to do anything else in his Saints career, that bit of skill was worth £12 million itself.
-
I'd imagine the one player is a winger, and the two players are a winger and centre back. We still lack depth at right back too. Then there's any 'outs' we may have to endure, those would need new signings for too. 1 or 2, so Koeman says, could be a turn of phrase as Greenridge states.

Outstanding contribution and looked eager to smash in the fourth too.

Celtic fans on one of their forums think he's off. Apparently Newcastle interested though... Edit: meant to quote the Van Dijk post above. Oh well...

Playing some OK stuff in between my stream freezing. Is that a hat trick of assists for Reeves?
-
Blimey o Riley that's a strong line up. Fingers crossed it'll do the biz. I forgot what predo I went for in the prediction league and I can't be arsed to check but I'm going for a simple 2-0 Saints win.

Anfield's Hooiveld?

I'm maintaining the status quo by heading off to work. :-(

Danny Welbeck - Told he can leave.. Only for mid table club
SNSUN replied to SaintLondon's topic in The Saints
This. He's only 23, would strengthen our attacking options. Although I couldn't give two testicles whether we got him or not. -
Preparing the way for a Berahino bid? I wonder. I'm surprised he's not been linked with anyone this summer.

One Italy international out, one in. Good business. Hope he bangs in one or more against WBA.
-
Nick Powell is available. Yes please. Was One of Wigan's best players last season, highly skilful and not wanted by United.
-
He must be. He's all skin and bone.
-
This. Townsend is still young and learning the game. He'll get better. You can't teach someone to run faster (unless it's teaching them a better running technique, but that won't make them Usain Bolt suddenly) but you can teach them decision making and end product. It's why people wanted Redmond, raw but can be moulded. I believe the same was said about Kenwyne Jones when we signed him.
-
This'll be the basis of how good our team is. I expect WBA to be in the bottom 6 come the end of the season. Surely we're better than them... Anyway I predict a win, a Pelle goal, and a streaker.
-
That in itself is madness. I assume there are all kinds of clauses should WBA go down, otherwise their parachute payments will be spent on paying Lescotts salary...
