FFS, I'm off to live in Cyprus. At least there ain't no foreigners there that carnt speak no English...
-
This. So keen were they to improve their goal difference but they whacked everyone forward which left them exposed at the back on the counter. Palace score, and they kept going for it. Then Palace scored again. At 3-2 it only takes 1 goal, however it goes in to turn 3 points into 1. That happened, and the title race is over. Respect to Palace though. Zip to play for and they turned up. This "players are already on the beach" thing is nonsense, as Saints have shown of late.

English players are expensive enough as it is, if any kind of home grown rule comes in, English players transfer fees will shoot through the roof. Although any of these proposals is worrying, it's why we really need to keep a hold of Lallana and Shaw et al.
-
Egil Olsen springs to mind... I forgot who I tipped at the start of the season but it was almost definitely Palace...
-
This is a good point. Lallana is under contract, and if the offer isn't good enough, we shouldn't sell. Adam doesn't come across as one of those players that would throw a big hissy fit because things haven't gone his way. Although it does bode the question of how long you can keep a player against his wishes. His contract runs out and we lose him for nothing. Sadly, as our players are in the limelight so much these days because of how good they are, Kat/Ralph could name their price and they'd probably get it.
-
If sacrificing Luke for £30 million meant we could keep Morgan and Adam, I'd drive him to Utd/Chelsea myself. That's a huge wedge of money for a kid with 1 3/4 seasons under his belt, crazy talented though he may be. Lallana is our creative output and has an understanding with JRod and Rickie that borderlines on spooky. Losing him would be massively gutting. Morgan too, one of the best midfielders in Europe last season, I'd be sad to see go, but the one jewel I don't want to see go is Lallana. Will he go? No I don't think he will. I'd be surprised if Morgan left too, although I can understand him wanting to try and get recognition for the French national team. I personally think after Sunday we may have seen the last of Shaw. What a great summer it would be if we could keep them all!

I didn't know it's a Utd tradition to blood youngsters in their final home game if there's nothing for them to play for. It worked for them too tonight. Perhaps we'll see Targett or Sims or Reed start on Sunday...
-
Good Lord, how on earth will he scrape by on 80k? Poor little sod. Feel for him, I really do. ...and that's a no from me. I'd rather we did spend money on a good young centre back. Someone up and coming. A Dan Burn or Harry Maguire...
-
If Utd didn't keep dicking about with Jones's position, I actually think he'll be a top centre back one day. Smalling I'm less sure.

Steven Davis against Man Utd at home, May 11th, 2014. 40 yard screamer, better than Shelvey's, better than Rooney's and sealed us the 3 points. Seriously Osvaldo for me, showed his class. If only it had been more frequent....
-
Agree the only conundrum is Chambers or Clyne. Clyne for me, just, although Chambers was preferred in some games. Had Osvaldo not acted like a **** and finished his season off with us, I still think he could have been in there. He has some skills, and while he only scored thrice for us, would have grown into the Premier League over time. Moot point though. With a possible depleted squad next year, I wager Wanyama will be in our team of the year next year.

I want a kit with a big "S" for Southampton emblazoned on the front.
-
I had money on the 0-0 today and it was so close to paying for my evening out. Hey Ho, a win is a win!
-
Perhaps he's only truly effective when he has Lambert and JRod around him. Hence he should stay put. :-)
-
I've always thought Morgan's good enough and intelligent enough to play a more attacking role, irrespective of how good he is at tackling. With Cork and Vic both in there to do the dirty work, it gives Morgan license to get forward. It is a team that looks strong defensively but is creatively lacking though, Lallana aside. I predict an odd goal victory either way or a 0-0 draw.

Great, exciting finish the the Championship season, late injury time goals for Brighton and Birmingham giving their fans something to celebrate tonight! Reading and Donny suffer. West Ham are beating Spurs as it stands and have had Kaboul sent off.

The sash kit was my favourite Saints kit ever, and it marked the start of our renaissance but that's exactly why I don't want it to become the norm. Stripes is what I grew up with, but I'm not as attached to them as others on here. Red shirts is fine but they're not unique to Saints. They need some sort of design, or more white, to make them ours. But not with that horrible gold lettering though. Yuck. Quarters is too "rugby" IMO. The best of those options is the Rank Xerox kit. It would appease the stripes fans and is still a majority of red. Does anyone else have it?

Lallana & Lambert in England photo wearing M&S suits WC 2014
SNSUN replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
Lambert looks boss in his suit. Could be the first Scouse James Bond. No Shaw is perhaps telling, and I'm not so sure Lampard will go either. -
Isn't Chris A poster on here? GeorgeWeahsCousin I think? Needs to be bigging up Hooiveld and Gazzaniga! :-) Cant fault Davis for his commitment though, top player and professional and, if Lallana goes (touch wood) our future captain.

As that article states, as Smalling and Jones can both play right back, Hodgson may choose another midfielder or forward instead. So, what about a midfielder who can play right back... Someone like Jack Cork!
-
Someone linked this on Facebook too, and it's been pulled down. RyanAir getting their way?
-
Same team as Saturday please. As much as I'd like us to try something with the youngsters, it wouldn't be fair on the fans paying money to travel and see the game. Let's wave the academy in front of Utds noses on the last day, and try to get points with a strong team against Swansea.
-
3 straight wins and we beat Utd to 7th by a point after Giggs does a worse job than Moyes and loses their last 4 games.
-
Albrighton tries to insert it, but Luke's too quick!
