I really liked Adkins, I was ambivalent towards Pardew, but that's not on.

A good point. 11 points off top spot, 11 points off relegation. Make of that what you will! :-D -
In five minutes I will go for a lucky fag. This probably won't help, but it means I'm not present for the tense final few moments...

Hello! I'm home from the dreaded Christmas shopping, and wish to bring luck on the Saints. Did it work? :-D

A vote for "Poster of the Year" goes to the poster of Cindy Crawford I found in the loft, that used to adorn my bedroom wall as a teenager.

We love Lambert, we love him for what he's done pretty much since the moment he joined us, and for all he's done for us since - especially as the learning curve has been as steep for him as it has for anyone that was with us since our League One days. The challenges have been put in front of him at every step, and he's smashed each one. Goals in League One, Goals in the Championship, Goals in the Premier League, and finally Goals for England. But, he doesn't have age on his side, and this team is STILL rising through the leagues, in the respect that our goal is not just to be in this league but compete in it, and compete with the best. One way to look at it is: would Rickie make it into a top 4 team? Probably not, no. Could Osvaldo? Very probably. Osvaldo himself is the competition, and while he hasn't endured the best of starts in his career here, it seems he's slowly starting to find his feet. From what I've seen of him, he's a class above. His touches are sublime, and the more he grows in confidence, the better for us. It's ridiculous in that 50 years, Saints fans will look back on the present day and remember Rickie as a legend - as fondly as long-supporting Saints remember Ron Davies. Right now though, in the present day, and IMO, as much as I love Rickie, Osvaldo gets my vote. However you know what these choice threads are like, it depends on who is most recently in form, and that is Osvaldo. I'm sure we'll be lauding Rickie again in the future. I'd love it if there were a way we could play both effectively...

There was an old F1 game from years ago where I always used to go the wrong way around the track. Made for much excitement when my car was launched into the air on contact at, what 300 miles an hour between 2 cars. F1 used to be a good watch, and both the wife and I used to happily watch it despite not being avid fans, but this past season we didn't bother after the first couple of races. Stock Car/Banger racing with a bit of contact is probably more down my street. Anything where there's a 25% chance the driver will be dead/horifically burned/deformed by the end of the race gets my vote. (For the sensitive types, that was a joke.)

Was it Gallagher that's getting promoted full time to the first team? -

We beat them 7-0 and we had a teeny, tiny picture as our No.11? They really are pants. :-p -
Technology hates me. I use a laptop with a quarter of the screen not working (admittedly I sat on it) but with an 8 hour battery life when I bought it, it barely lasts an hour now; an iPod Touch with the battery life of a wet fart; a smart phone that doesn't work at all (meaning I'm currently using my 8 year old Nokia brick); a Blu-Ray player that doesn't work; and a PS3 that inadvertantly switches itself off of it's own accord, even though it's plugged into the mains, meaning that any game I haven't saved is lost. To that end, I'm expecting tons of techy stuff on Christmas Day. Without sounding greedy (I'm always appreciative with what I get) but I'm very much like my Dad, in that it wouldn't bother me if I didn't get anything on Christmas Day.

I see NewsNow has this thread linked on their Southampton page. Crap, Boobs, Fart. There, I bet very few threads that NewsNow publicises has that written on them... ...or Southampton 5, Portsmouth 0 for that matter... :-D -
What's that about the Sunderland game? :-) I think the key injury is Boruc. Chambers for Clyne is a decent back-up, as is Cork, Davis, JWP and even Reed covering Morgan and Victor. (Although it is harsh to lose our entire first choice central midfield.) I'm not convinced by Gazzaniga, but if anything this little injury spell has done, is highlight what positions need strengthening before long.

Richie Barker masters the "Rabbit caught in the headlights" look perfectly, 3 seconds after he glances down at the League Two table.
-
Sure. Replacement for Clyne when United come in with a £35 million bid. :-) (I was joking about the OP)

PLay them off the park, beat them handsomely, and put in offers for Ings and Trippier at the final whistle. Cushty.

+1. Look at our run to the 2003 final. Spurs aside (which we anihilated anyway), we played lower league opposition all the way through the competition. (Despite making hard work of Millwall...)
