  1. Baton down the hatches! :-D Here in East Berkshire, there's little more than a bit of wind at present and some light showers. What's the weather like where you lot are? Are you looking forward/dreading the big storm? Will it truly be a "killer" storm, or just a damp squib that the media have overhyped?
  2. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/439517/Southampton-star-Luke-Shaw-to-turn-down-Manchester-United-for-Chelsea I guess we should get used to reporting surrounding our much sought after players...
  3. http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/fulham/id/1476?&cc=5739 POV from a Fulham journo. Incidentally, have we well and truly banished the Sky curse now?

They're both different in their own right, however Davis has a lot of experience in the role so AS I SAID BEFORE.. IF Lallana gets injured or suspended, Davis would be my choice as captain. Am I not wording it right? Davis is not replacing Lallana, but he's whom I'd choose for captain as back up to Lallana if I were manager. Which I'm not. (Acknowledging also that there are many good candidates for captain within our ranks.)

I didn't say anything about Lallana not leading us by example, I said that Davis would be a good choice for captain because he leads by example.
  6. Makes approx 2 litres/3½ pints: enough for a good party. Feel free to scale down. Juice of 8 limes 35ml grenadine syrup 500ml/17 fl oz dark rum 250ml/8½ fl oz white rum 500ml/17 fl oz pineapple juice 500ml/17 fl oz orange juice 8 drops of Angostura bitters A dash of grated nutmeg Pineapple slices, to garnish Soda water (optional) Combine all the ingredients in a large jug and fill up with ice cubes. Stir well and top with soda water if you don’t want it to be too strong. Garnish with pineapple slices ...and that's how you make Rum Punch. Oh, Bum Punch, sorry I misread...

OK, so Lallana has played himself into form as well as being our captain, and long may it last. I maintain that Steven Davis would be a superb captain for us. He leads Northern Ireland by example, he led Rangers by example, and he could lead us by example. The main question about that is whether he's guaranteed a first team spot, like Lallana is, but if Lallana (God forbid) gets injured or suspended, I'd like to see Davis leading the team out.
  8. Berbatov... "And no-one wanted me, but then Fulham turned round and offered me £80,000 a week, and I took it. I don't even have to do much to earn it either!"
  9. BBC put this on the match report: [h=2]Fulham fail to threaten[/h]Fulham's poor attacking display at St Mary's saw them become the first side to fail to manage a shot on goal in the first half of a Premier League match this season. The Cottagers did manage two efforts after the break, however. I thought Palace failed to put a shot on target the whole game against us? Am I right? Incidentally what Palace wouldn't give to have their old boys Fonte and Clyne still in their side!
  10. Utter, utter dominance. We were class, Fulham were shyte. Perhaps we could have scored more, but that's the only qualm over what was an all-conquering performance. Not one poor performance today, everyone was exceptional. MOTM? God that's a toughy. Lallana bamboozled their defence, JRod was back to virtually his best, Wanyama was dominant and beast-like, and Clyne was everywhere. I'm going to give it to our little 18-year old James Ward-Prowse. Quality set pieces, quality crosses, quality touches (most of the time) and he ran after every ball. He also protected the defence when Clyne bombed forward. What a player we have, and all for next to nothing, unlike Ramirez, who still cannot get a look in.
  11. Well done Jay, though he was very good today, not brilliant, but very good. Guly on to score goal of the season.
  12. Wonderful scissor kick attempt from Jay! Unlucky! We're beating them to every single ball - they really don't look arsed today.
  13. Wow, at times we are playing some scintillating stuff. JWP is 18? You're effing kidding me. (OK nearly 19 but he's playing with the maturity and vision of someone at his peak.)
  14. I'm in agreement that Wanyama is a beast.
  15. I think JWP has been brilliant so far...
  16. 2-0! JAY!!! We're dicking them. Absoultely dicking them.
  17. "Whether they can keep this going for 90 minutes remains to be seen" - one of the new commentator cliches when talking about Saints pressing style...
  18. Could be two or three up here. Come on Saints, make it count. We're playing very well. LAMBERT oohhhhhhhh unlucky. Perhaps should've buried that. Great cross JWP
  19. I've just put a Fray Bentos pie in the oven. I reckon it's an omen...
  20. Have we scored? :-)
  21. We always have the lucky fags to fall back on... *pops outside for a lucky fag*
  22. I'm off out drinking later, if Saints win I'm gonna pull later - if Fulham win I guess I'll have to come home to the wife. *sigh* Come on Saints. :-)
  23. That's that sorted - 3 goals in the first five minutes then! :-D
  24. This. I wish my life was so perfect that I could say I wouldn't change anything, or change very little, but it hasn't been. I've made so many mistakes in this life - things I should have done but haven't. things I haven't done but should've. Things I did do but really shouldn't've. It's been one screw up after another. You learn from your mistakes though. I'm far from perfect but my wife loves the soul of me, and the feeling is reciprocated (whatever I say about her is usually in jest) and so where I am in life now, getting paid well (albeit in the wrong job), disposable income, a handful of great friends, my health (barring some minor stuff), my humour (what little of it I have), a comfortable house (albeit rented), loving wife and with a view to starting a family, I'm happy with how my life has turned out. I don't want to think about the future... In spite of that, would I make changes? Sure I'd love to see how my life could turn out if I could go back to being, say, 5 years old, but with the knowledge I have now. Impossible though, and irrelevant, as I'm happy with my lot in life at the present time.
  25. I'd rather the wins happen against the "beatable" opposition than the big boys. We all love a "giant killing", and beating Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal would be very impressive, but drawing or losing against the others would mean the Samaritans would need to moderate this message board. I'd take winning the next three, drawing against Villa, Newcastle and one of the big boys, and losing the other two against "top 4" opposition. (Not that it will happen like that of course, we do strangely well against the "bigger" clubs since we've had Pochettino in charge.)
