  1. Gotsta go to bed, up at half 3. Don't want to leave the game though! COYR. UTS! Night all.
  2. 2-2. What a game. Lallana
  3. Arsenal are simply too good to roll over and die, which is a shame. Please keep showing some fight Saints. I have more Arsenal supporting friends than any other team and they give me grief. SHTI, second for Arsenal. We goin get spanked?
  4. 1) Get him back from injury asap, he's a big loss. 2) Shoot anyone that inquires about him 3) Keep him sweet by improving the squad around him/winning something. Lyon's loss is our gain. I'm massively impressed by Fonte's improvement this season but another signing at CB of Lovren's ilk would make for a stunning back four.
  5. A decent stand in to Fonte and Seaborne in League One. Sadly another player whose career stalled because of our rise up the league. I hope someone from a team in the Championship has seen him play and takes a punt on him.
  6. There's a Danny Fox-shaped flaw in that plan! ;-) Short term fix. With one signing, we get all excited about it just one time. With 5 signings, we get excited 5 times! I suppose also the chances of each player's success are increased the more signings you make. In a roundabout way. We thought we signed 3 quality players in the summer. 2 came off, 1 has largely flopped. 66% success rate. Last January we only signed Forren. Boom. That's what I reckon anyway. I still prefer our transfer policy now, looking for the right players to strengthen a position, than the scattergun transfer policy of our relegation season in the CCC. (Although granted we have money to be choosier now.)
  7. I'd take Thibaut Courtois in a heartbeat. A top goalkeeper, who's been plying his trade in Spain with Athletico Madrid with much success. 6'6'' 21 year old goalkeeper. I'm not saying we'd get him, I think he's destined to join Athletico full time if Chelsea stand by Cech, but of all Chelsea's players that aren't in their first team squad, he's the one I'd have. Yes to Lukaku too, but surely Chelsea can't overlook him for another season? He's Drogba-esque, and IMO a big upgrade on Demba Ba. I suppose it depends on how good Targett is rumoured to be. If we lose Shaw in the summer (which I think is highly likely if the offer is big enough) then we should bring in a top left back, have Targett as back up/fighting for a first team spot, and sell Fox.
  8. Our record this season against them is XLX. Need to add a W to the end of that...
  9. Wow, big draws. We're away to Sunderland.
  10. Unlucky 13 for someone...
  11. Tough draw coming up - no upsets today, barring Wigan beating Palace which is barely an upset. We'll have to play out of our skin to win this competition.
  12. Sheffield Wednesday. Return of Stuart Gray.
  13. Weird to be linked with him, and not so long ago Wanyama's brother (although that's slightly more understandable.) Pretty much every other position on the pitch needs strengthening before central midfield. (Except right back.) Having said that, at £3million it wouldn't be a bad deal, but Cork has already played very well since Wanyama's been out, and with Morgan and Wanyama first choice, Davis and JWP able to play well there and allowing for Reed's progress to the first team, I can't see why we'd need another CM.
  14. I see we've been linked with Claudio Yacob for £3 million. Not sure what to make of that.
  15. This. There are some top players playing in the Championship (and even League One) which could make the step up, if reasonably priced (although domestically you always pay a bit over the odds) AND there's the luxury of a lower expectation to do well, even though they probably will. Theres also the point that they'd be more hungry to play in the top league. Saints have proved that they're not great and splashing big money on foreigners. Some of our best players have cost comparatively little. Davis, Clyne and of course Rickie were steals.
  16. The poo monster finally reached the couple, poured the bottle of nail polish on their faces, and dissolved the glue that stuck their lips together. Poo monster was a hero. The lady thanked the poo monster with a kiss.... and got a cold sore. (That's both a strange picture and the weirdest caption competition ever!)
  17. Are set piece takers better at penalties? If so I suppose you could say JWP could be one, Fox?
  18. After the season they've had, I bet none of the Sunderland fans thought they'd be going to Wembley. Strangely, if they survive the drop, I'm sure they'd view this season as a success. Although I can see a Swansea-Bradford type scoreline in the final...
  19. That's why I lose bets. :-) I think United should chuck money at class players while they have the chance to. Another season or two like this and they won't have that funding to go out and sign the world's best players. A sort of shlt or bust scenario. (Which is probably just as well I'm not a football chairman.)
  20. I'd take Hernandez in a heartbeat but he rarely gets a look in for United. If they can sign Mata, it's a possibility they could save their season, either by the most unlikely of European Cup wins or by scraping into 4th, which again is unlikely.
  21. My God, Old Trafford emptied quick! Moyes hasn't become a bad manager overnight, but perhaps the United job was out of his league. Time will tell.
  22. United's best chance of a trophy........gone.
  23. Sunderland are going to Wembley. Who'd have thought it after their start to the season. Poyet has done a sterling job there. (Although they could still go down.)
