Credit to Arsenal, and to the patient fans among them. -
Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
SNSUN replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
That's still better than a 13 incher up yer bum. If I were there I'd get my wang out behind the reporter. (If I had a 13 incher...) That female reporter at the QPR training ground could be in trouble, all stood alone in the dark, were it not for the worry that Redknapp would, at any second, drive past and witness it... -

I still hold hope that Ramirez will come good. Once back to full fitness and getting regular starts, I think he could yet become an asset for us. I certainly hope he does anyway... -
I just managed to transfer Poo from My Arse to The Toilet. The transfer was, on the (w)hole, tough to squeeze through, but I managed it. Thank God the window is open though, it would have been tough to bear had the window closed early. The cost of the transfer is undisclosed, I certainly spent at least a penny, but there was great relief from both parties. There may be one more transfer this evening of Some Ice Cream to My Mouth, but I'mm undecided as to whether to go through with that deal.

Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)

Evolution not revolution for Saints (the opposite to the Sunderland tactic) and strengthening positions well whilst using youngsters, talented youngsters, to plug the gaps. Still it's in every football fans nature to want more transfers, irrespective as to whom or why. Computer games like Football Manager have made fans like this, and the over-the-top coverage of deadline day on SSN these past few years. -
Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
SNSUN replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Hi fannies! So is there reason to stay glued to SSN for the next 4 hours or are we done? Have we really been linked to Lennon? Has Skacel signed yet? As for the squad, I still worry about creating goals, but I guess the management have faith in both the young players like JWP, Isgrove and Rowe and in Ramirez actually coming good, and in JRod becoming more consistant. I guess nothing will happen tonight anyway, so in the mean time let's hope the Ozil transfer crashes to annoy cocky Arsenal fans. :-D -

I don't think we'll see anyone else come in, and would be very surprised if we did sign someone. Looking through the team, and the first XI looks strong - the question arises from whether the back -ups are up to it if called upon long term. I think the squad overall is strong. Clyne or Fox have the left back slot covered, Davis and Gazzaniga CDAJFU as back up to Boruc, and Chambers has solved the headache of the right back slot cover. My only concern with the team is in attacking midfield, one more big splurge on a player that can unlock a tight game with a worldy or incisive pass could earn us points we'd otherwise not get, and with Puncheon gone we're weaker in this area than were. If we didn't bring anyone in, then fine. But one signing in this position on deadline day and I'll be moist. -
Why has everyone reverted to questioning the manger ?
SNSUN replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
I have every right - there was no way it was big enough to fit the baby Jesus. :-D Incidentally - Spurs haven't scored in open play this season either - AVB out. -
One loss. One effing loss and people are calling for Pochettino's head. The manager that was key , instrumental, one of the main reasons for attracting Osvaldo. Di Matteo has done little to suggest he's better, except perhaps for showing ingenuity in taking a job of a team that was already most of the way to winning a Champions League. Ffs even I could've guided them to that. Perspective people, even Man City have lost this season, and before us too. This is going to be a looooooooooong season.
-
Sorry, but that is hideous, however much they make out that it's historical. OK, we did a similar thing with the sash, but that was a class kit - if Saints first kit had those pink colours, I'd rather not re-live it! Good to see David Connolly is their hero too. :-)
-
It's a loss, all teams lose games in a season, and we'll have a few more losses this season yet. No need to get all slitty-wristed about this defeat. If anything, it could be a blessing in disguise, if Pochettino and Cortese go out and sign some attackingly creative midfielder that we're lacking as a result of this.....result. What we have is OK, in that we'll probably achieve a similar placed finish to last season, but a new creative spark could see us achieve that top half finish we crave.

I'm more bummed out that the wife's team won this, not that we lost. I won't be hearing the end of this for a very long time. Still, a few winnable games coming up, let's draw the proverbial blue line under this display and move on. Two days left of the window, and I still think we lack that one player that can unlock a defence and be creative when things aren't going our way. Sort of like Coutinho for Liverpool. Banega would be a great shout for this. We'll have better days this season and we'll have worse days, but a loss is never pleasant, even away from home. Well done Norwich (he says through gritted teeth).
-
We'd be foolish to let him go. Morgan-Wanyama-Cork is a fantastic combination to call on in central midfield. (Not forgetting JWP and Davis...) Can't see this happening but stranger things have happened.
-
Irrespective of having too many forwards, if he was available at the right price I'd still take him! It won't happen though, I think Chelsea will persevere with him long term, in spite of his terrible penalty tonight.
-
He's not a player to set the world alight but he is a good poacher at lower level. Scored goals for us and Southend and while he didn't bang tons in for his last two teams he still got a few. I reckon Southend will probably be his destination too, but he did a lot to get us out of League One. Certainly more than Forte, who'll be remembered for one thing...

If I were a Championship club with any kind of cash, I'd have been straight out this summer to sign Hammond, Sharp and possibly even Barnard. All will do a cracking job at the SBC level. Add to that Chaplow and Reeves and you could have a good team using our cast offs this summer. I'm surprised they've taken so long to shift, even taking their wages into account. Sharp next, not sure where he'll end up though.

Good Luck Deano, thanks for captaining the team on the rise, and for that screamer against Leeds!
-
I think a lot of teams would be interested in Cork seeing how good he is and that he's no longer first choice, but we must do our utmost to keep him. He's important to the squad and to our future. As for the latter part of that, Cresswell for Sharp would be a cracking deal - strengthening a weak area (squadwise and seeing how Shaw often picks up niggles and only having Fox as back-up) and offloading an unwanted player at the same time.

There are quite a few Norwich streams... (Gets coat before backlash...)

Best Saints pubs to visit before and after a game
SNSUN replied to Ottawa Saint's topic in The Saints
I always use the Royal Oak. Granted it gets busy in there, but that makes for a better atmosphere. Shows the lunchtime games too so a good place to go to early enough. -
Would be a cracking signing, far better than had we gone for Sinclair. For me we were short creatively even before Puncheon left, now we really need at least 1 reinforcement in this area. Moses would be a top signing. Hopefully we can pull this off, or at least try and bring in an AM similar to his quality.

Seven Saints Academy Aces - look at them now!
SNSUN replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Would we ever truly trust Turnbull with the CB position in the Premier League? I feel that's the one position where our Academy players will struggle to get a game in the first team. Ergo, of the photo above, I reckon it'd be Turnbull that will be the "Terry Cooke" of that photo.
