The jokes really are Sicily. Really, really Scilly. (Yeah I ran out of countries...)
-
They don't count. (OK change that question to the UK then...)
-
Jamaica these terrible jokes all the time?
-
I take it this will be Rickie's first ever professional game in a country other than England? (Excluding friendlies of course...)
-
Kenya please stop making jokes now...

This isn't the first time this bloke has appeared in The Muppet Show... ...and weirdly, that isn't even the most disturbing picture on that link. Those honours go to 1,7,30 and most disturbingly (IMO)

These jokes are giving my earS pain. Iran-a leave this thread and never read it again. Off-joke, I hope JWP and Luke getting game time buoys them up against the Hammers this weekend. Rickie, too, should be flying. Looking forward to it.

Not a horror tackle per se, but the sight of the aptly named David Busst getting his leg severed always makes me want to vom.

Already done more in his England career that MLT, arguably Southampton's greatest ever footballer. On a side note (which I'll whisper), I think Lambert will probably, eventually, have a poor game in an England shirt. If this happens, I just hope he isn't overlooked for the rest of his career, instead of, say Rooney having a poor game and getting picked again the next time.

The ":mcinnes:" was for the fact it was Milner, not the fact Rickie got subbed BTW. (I don't dislike Milner, it just either shows how bare bones England is up front or Woy is a bottler who is defending a 4-0 lead in case we blow it.)
-
Subbed for Milner?!?
-
Lambert about to be subbed, important for Tuesday's game apparently... MOTM?

I like Guly - he's not Premier League quality due to his inconsistancy but can have the odd good game here and there. When we let Punch go, and didn't sign an AM to replace him, seeing Guly in the squad list did provide some comfort. He can score goals, I wouldn't want him starting all the time, but he's a useful squad player to have IMO.

Been quiet for a few minutes now... Come on Rickie, do something! ;-)
-
I'd love for England to get a penalty. Just to see who takes it like.
-
Nearly another assist! Bugger me!!!
-
Rickie Lambert assist again, and another perfectly weighted pass. Jesus he's having a stormer.
-
Ill deserved yellow, but irrespective of the yellow card, Rickie would surely be difficult to drop. That said though, Sturridge would be first choice if not injured and no doubt they would shoe horn Rooney in there too.
-
Well done lee Dixon. Singing Rickie's praises. Hope he gets more game time in the second half. Full game would be brilliant...
-
Lambert looks very much at home tonight. :-D

WHAT A PASS FROM RICKIE!!! Goal Welbeck

Nowhere near in terms of experience and consistancy. Luke Shaw is a cracking player, defensively and offensively, but he's only bee a regular for less than a season, and has come up with a few niggling injuries in that time. I'd love to see Shaw in the squad for Brazil, but I think the other two will probably get the nod.

Jim Magilton gets another vote from me. He didn't cost much and yet chipped in with some important goals (especially against the Skates.) More recently I also liked Chris Perry - for someone who was at the tail end of his career, he came in to a club in trouble and performed well. As people said at the time, his legs had gone but his reading of the game was what made him a good defender. Pearson signing him and Lucketti solidified us that season and kept us up, with Stern John's goals, even if it were just for one more season...

I think Shaw is good enough for the full England team too, but nowhere near Baines and Cole at the moment. Cole though is at the end of his career, and Baines is no spring chicken, so if Shaw continues his progress, that left back spot will be his for years. (Probably fighting it out with Bertrand.) I think the World Cup will come too soon (pending the other two don't get injuries) but after that things will get interesting. As for Bearsyrinho, he's looking like one for the future - and what a week for him!
