Helicopters crashing on pubs, cars killing celebrities, trains killing people in the US, and I bashed my knee on a friend's motorbike. Is transport out to get us?
-
True, but he'd have been handy for the following eight weeks. Pantillimon or Hart then - which is annoyed most about losing their place? :-)

Shay Giv....Oh. 2 days too late there. I do not rate Gazzaniga very highly, now granted I'm saying that based on what I saw of him last season, and the coaches have had time to work with him since then, but I would rather see another keeper brought in, IF possible and IF they're better than Gazzaniga. Otherwise there's no point.

Not our best manager but wasn't the worst either. His policy of signing older, experienced players did OK for us in the late 90's but it's what has got Fulham into trouble this year so it's a risky strategy. Was it Jones that signed Pahars? I suppose he got some things right. I take it Antonio isn't quite the player we thought he was...

I'm 33, and except for my best mate (who's nearly 36 and rarely comes out drinking anymore), all of my friends are younger than me, some by a few years, and some are still in their early 20's. Where I "hang out" and go drinking, there is an ever changing clientele of younger and younger people too - which makes me feel ancient. I still try and keep up with the drinking but year-on-year it's getting more difficult. I wonder if I'll get to that age where I take a select few friends and just grow old with them together. My wife is 29, and is clinging on to her 20's with desperation. January 7th is the day she fears...

I bought a Liberro Realis e-fag last year, it helped me to not smoke for about 12 weeks. In the end, such was my dependence on it in lieu of a cigarette that I was actually burning my throat on nights out. Fags never did that, so I started back on them. I only smoke 5-6 a day when working, hardly ever when I'm not, but do get through quite a few on nights out. Realistically mine's a force of habit. I am going to give quitting another try in the new year, so I hope to be successful then. It's hard to quit once you start, there's always that temptation. Best advice for youngsters is to not smoke in the first place!

We are Southampton, we'll fix what we want. :-D

People have long been tipping Jordan Rhodes for the Premier League but the question is whether or not he'll make it. There's only one way of finding out I suppose, but will it be as a replacement for Osvaldo? I highly doubt it.

This. If we're truly putting our trust in the academy. (THough if Wanyama WERE to get a suspension, I'd think Davis or JWP would fill in.)

From the BBC report on it: "Two ambulances arriving to help the unidentified supporter collided with each other, according to reports, before one took him away." Reading some reports, the chap's seriously injured in hospital. I wish him the best.

His ego was the biggest downfall in his career IMO. Built up to high heavens from such an early age, under the spotlight in the media, a high profile relationship and brandished the next Pele. He obviously got taken in by it all and didn't have the talent to live up to it. Portsmouth CFC beckons... :-)

Freddy Adu's available on a free. I can't believe he's only 24, he seems to have been around for decades. Anyone interested? No? Ok. Probably wise. :-)
-
He was THE best prospect on Championship Manager 2003. Him and Oskitz Estefania were the only two young central midfielders you needed for years of stability in that position.
-
If they want to save money, I'll quite happily manage them for free. Granted, I'll probably get sacked for straight defeats before the end of the season, but that just leaves me free for a summer job at Thorpe Park.

9th. There's a gap between 9th (Spurs) and 10th (Swansea) of 5 points, which is some gap. IMO we have a tough run of fixtures and I can't see us picking up many points from them, maybe 5-7. 9th is where I predict we'll be by Christmas, but not cut adrift and ready for another push in the post-Christmas rush. (This prediction of course has the pessimistic Saints fan of old spilling out of me...) Any better and it would be a cracking achievement.

Best XI of the season? Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Morgan, Wanyama, JWP, Lallana, JRod, Lambert. Incidentally I prefer Dowie's team to Scales's.....just.

The much improved defender has been linked with a move to Besiktas. http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=5410 My question is: How much would you say he's worth? We've had him since League One - would we get big money for an ageing player or not enough for us to warrant selling him?

My mistake, loyalsaints.myfreeforum.org. Pictures of bewbs welcomed. :-)

LoyalSaints still exists at loyalsaints.myfreeforum.com. It's the site SRS set up when he got banned from SWF I believe. No-one uses it anymore, I'm the only poster in about 5 years. I get the occassional spambot in there to keep me company, but otherwise it's a very lonely place. :-) Pop over there and unleash hell. No holds barred moderation by yours truly.
-
I doubt we'll see JRod either, but having said that he'll now get 10 minutes at the end of the game and score the best goal the world has ever seen. :-) Pleased for Adam, deserves every success.

Well it's a steep learning curve for England. Sadly though with lazy journalism rife it may be the debutants that get the blame, the two Saints lads and Forster. I hope not, Lallana looked OK from what I saw of him. Germany will be a much harder test. I would LOVE to see England's first XI but with the Saints lads playing, but of course that won't happen. I don't rate Milner, especially not in that midfield role he was playing tonight. He "does a job" but that's about it.
-
As it stands, do we have a better team than ENGLAND?
SNSUN replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Yes, but England has the better squad. :-) (Removes Saints' fan rose-tinted specs) -
At 24 he still has time on his side. Repeatedly showing it for Saints would be a start. He's a player we have cover for if he gets injured, we wouldn't feel his loss too harshly, whereas with Lallana we'd definitely lack an important creative outlet. Lallana is definitely one of Saints' key players, and I think he offers England a great deal with his natural talent, ability to beat people, decent set pieces, an eye for goal AND he's stepped up his fitness this season and gained a yard of pace. I hope he gets a chance against Germany if he's fit.
