Woo, 10 points in the Predo League and I'm up to 17th. Highest I've ever been. Not really worth a full Woot though.

One of Newcastle or Man Utd will go out tomorrow, and I fancy West Brom to beat Liverpool too. Big names are dropping out of this cup, and that makes it very winnable. I'm happy with the squad players playing and getting game time against lower league opposition (to a point, there are some clubs you don't want to underestimate) but will there come a round where we start using the first teamers? We're in the last 16. One win away from the quarters, and then the sh*t gets real.

Keep faith with Rodriguez, or not enough space to accommodate him? Tough decision for Adkins. I suspect Jay will be back on the bench but even though Puncheon has played well of late, he's not undroppable. Something like Gazza, Frazer, Fonte, Yoshi, Clyne, Davis, Morgan, Adam, Ramirez, Jay, Rickie would suffice. Everton will feel deflated after tonight. We're on a high after the Villa game. I predict a draw, which would be a good scoreline all things considered, but we really can win it. Everton won't go down lightly though.

My first SMS game was against Bristol Rovers in League One, we lost 3-2. I hadn't pre-purchased a ticket, despite having an online account, as I figured we weren't going to sell out. I arrived at the ticket office at 19:15 and didn't get in to the ground until nearly 20:00. Mental turn up before the game. Now I pre-buy no matter what the game, even if I pick up from the Ticket Office. Mind you I live in Windsor, it's a more comfortable journey when I know I have my ticket safe and sound!

Helllllooooooooo! Due to its crudness every time I try and use it I've unsubscribed to Saints Player. I hardly ever use it anyway. I'm stuck at work for this game, which usually means we do quite well. Fingers crossed the squad players play well and make their claim for a first team place.

Me too, though it's not the easiest car park to get in or out of on foot - one set of slippery stairs or the ramp to the car park. It is well located though, good for The Royal Oak for a pre-match bevvy, and it's free to park after 6pm iirc. EDIT: Lime Street's the one I meant...

I was surprised we loaned Sharp out too but from the brief glimpses of Mayuka he looks a real live wire, and offers us the pace that Sharp doesn't have. Mayuka's previous game stats show he can score goals, he needs a run in the team to do that, and hopefully he'll get that before long. Sharp was signed to help us get promoted, and he did just that. It's sad that he only got a brief sub appearance in the Prem though, I bet he was looking forward to trying to make his mark at this level.

We've gained a place thanks to Norwich losing (currently). Gives me great satisfaction that does.

I also tip Mayuka to get at least ten. (Of course all this is dependant on injuries and game time.)

It's not just how many he'll score, it's how any he'll assist too. I think 15-20 which is a fair haul, maybe more if we're lucky with penalties, but I reckon he'll get the assists too. How many assists did Grant Holt get last season? I bet Lambert to beat that stat.

Kelvin's not screwed, he'll still have a part to play this season, but this new signing will give him a kick up the backside. Perhaps with only Gazza behind him in the pecking order he'd grown a tad complacent. Yesterday's ommission will have kicked him up the bum enough, but this signing of Boruc will well and truly do it.

LB options we do have. Besides Shaw and Fox, we also have Jos, Seaborne and Clyne who've all played LB for their previous clubs from time to time. Oh, and forgotten man Ryan Dickson. 6 options. The problem is the lack of quality, not the lack of choice. Where's Rudi Skacel when you need him? :-)

Paul Lambert has gone nuts. Villa's defence looked shocking today and they loan out a class LB. Nuts. 132 clean sheets in 293 career appearances (source Wiki) is a fantastic statistic for a 'keeper. Any spaces left for a LB now? :-)

I'd like to see a 4-3-3 akin to what we've been using, but: Davis (our new cup game goalie?) Butters Stephens Seaborne Shaw Chappers JWP Cork (or Chambers/Reeves if Cork isn't fit.) Mayuka JRod Lee (or Goolies if Lee isn't fit.)

My sink is ball height, so I rub them against it while I'm rubbing one out. THAT leaves my other hand free to hold the mobile steady so I get good video footage.

I haven't seen Shaw play, but we've taken the plunge with JWP and Gazza, could it be time against Wednesday to take the plunge with him? Couldn't hurt. Fox isn't terrible, but he clearly has limitations. Adkins showed his testicles today playing Gazza, and it's bold decisions like this that could keep or lose him his job. But he's got to make them.

How much time did the Villa defence give Lambert for his first! Shocking defending, same for all 3 openn play goals actually.

Good win. Very happy. I mentioned about Clyne playing left back a month ago - if he's better than Fox, why not? According to the guy reading the scores out on Final Score, we're now called Southampton Town. Numpty.

"The season begins against Villa." We always start the season slowly, so that's a worrying turn of phrase! I think we'll beat Villa. 2-0. A hunch.

FFS We're going to be the laughing stock of the league. I was only saying the other day that we'd done well to keep the goal difference down... I hope we smash Villa!

Ok, I'm in. Our defence is shocking. Even Clyne who's had a few good games looks poor today. Yoshida does look OK, but it'll take more than just him. Still, Arsenal are quality, and judging by the Norwich/West Ham game earlier, we'll have our chances to pick up some points.
