Not worried about the defense whatsoever. We are unlikely to play in conditions like that all season. Total freak goal, but the key was our response. Shows character in adversity. Wanyama motm. We were a little sloppy in possesion and gaston gave the ball away way to cheaply again unfortunately. Jwp started a little sloppy but then really came into it. Ref had a poor game I thought and totally bottled the 2nd handball. 1st one would have been v harsh but 2nd was stonewall. Little disappointed we didn't test begovic more. Stoke were just horrid as usual.

If we play as we have done in most games this season then I can see a narrow win. 2-1 saints. same team as Saturday with hopefully a stronger bench with dani & davis

Les Reed has clearly done a great job. Also fwiw I am sure he is just part of the transfer committee, not THE transfer committee. Regardless, every club has successes and failures in the market, even SAF.

It's characters like Herbie that typifies what is great about this club. He is a great story teller and his match reports are really entertaining and capture the imagination.

So far IMO, early days for the first three. Lovren - A+ Osvaldo - C Wanyama - A- Ramirez - C- Rodriguez - B+ Mayuka - E Yoshida - B- Davis - B Clyne - A+ Gazzaniga - D Forren - wtf Boruc - A+

1st half I thought we were exceptional. Perhaps we could have really put them to the sword but we strangled them to death slowly in the 2nd half and saw out the game in total control of the football. Wanyama my mom, passing was excellent today and broke up nearly everything. Coyr

Never heard of Gleeson tbh but heard about all the others. Don't know anything about those 2 youngsters - thanks for sharing.

The Journos rarely ask any interesting questions whatsoever. "so mauricio you have only conceded 3 goals, how do you feel about that" zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

last 24 hours, Roma and Milan also interested

Saints are back in for Davide Astori according to Di Marzio

Neither striker had a great game yesterday. Neither has had a great season either but quality moments. If one or both start firing god knows how high we can go. i rate osvaldo but he had a poor game, onto the next one I feel he is still adjusting to prem myself. Anyone writing him off is mental.

Time for Gaston to get his chance and deliver at united? (injury permitting)

If course SRL and jwp can hit a free kick. Both are good players in their own right but neither have the natural ability of Ramirez IMO. i would like to see him in the bench, does not deserve a start obviously. Doesn't mean the lad doesn't have fantastic ability. -

A reminder of his ability is his goal in the Olympics at ot. Starting to look bad but if we could get him firing could be the difference between a European place. -
Osvaldo fit. Physio room made an error
-
Read in a couple of places that osvaldo is doubtful with an ankle knock. Physio room and who scored. Would be a blow.

Both of them come across as right nobs on twitter, I deleted them (sure they are devastated) I remember they were giving bale both barrels mid season last year saying he was nothing special and loving himself. I pointed out that he is a great example to all academy players. Funnily enough they stfu by the end of the season. Perhaps they are the big time Charlie's. I know one thing, they need to knuckle down and graft if they want to get in our 1st team. IMO will become lower league no marks in time.

Hell yeah, but we cannot afford to have a player of that expense sat on the bench collecting dust. Better to cash in and reinvest in a new #10 who can press and not lose possesion 50% of the time. I am one of gastons biggest fans but this year so far nothing, and we are doing well. He is very talented but no mlt who could get away with a lot more because he consistently delivered in other ways.
-
Great post jack, agree with each and every point. If however the ideal is not possible then I agree gaston to move on and us to replace.
-
My summary - mlt on this board is a friend of the real one, has a strong opinion is entitled to it. Pretty sure this is true but my reaction is "so what" and I am not surprised. If I was in cortese's shoes I would have done the same. My opinion is that Mlt is my footballing idol and a great guy to boot. cortese is easily the best chairman we have had by a distance in my life time. His performance has wildly exceeded expectations. Unfortunately they will never get on, cortese gets most of the flack but I know mlt has turned down a peace offering on one occasion and has since slung a fair bit of mud which I think is unnecessary IMO.

Come on sc, not even close. Regardless this is not about ward-prowse, this is about fox's strengths & weaknesses, and he has both.

Osvaldo to start as main striker for italy on Friday
doggface replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
World class goal that. Seems to come alive as lone striker. -
Not a big fan of Fox defensively, which is kind of key in a defender. Not up to PL standard IMO. However, he has a great cross, a sweet left foot and takes a mean set piece. Remember Lambo's goal @ Fratton park? This was typical Fox, Ward-Prowse cannot currently hit one that well from distance. My opinion is that I would rather Chambers and Clyne play, but if Fox plays then the crowd should get behind him. If the effort is there which it always is with him, then terrible support if he is being hounded. I have seen players not giving 100% and they deserve all they get. Fox is not that....simple.

The 1st dome was demolished, wonder how the new one is coming on, the whole ground infact... Club been very quiet

one **** replaced by another.

Just some dicks who spread bs rumours I'm afraid. Suppose there is a chance of being in the next gen version but I doubt it. That is not SMS behind yoshida it is generic Molton park.
